  1. This is the worst service provider I've ever used. Over priced, constantly adding charges, difficult to reach, inflated bills. I live in a rural area so it's not easy to find alternatives but I'm working on it.

  2. Wow!!! I knew I must not be the only one who had a complaint but this list is incredible. On the morning of 11/05 I made an inquiry on a charge for long distance phone service on a line dedicated to the internet. The phone call right off the start went sideways from a customer service rep. from Columbia. I asked about the charges and he rambled about disconnection and directv. I asked for neither when he suddenly transferred my call to a law firm who had no idea why I would be transferred to them nor did I realize my call was being transferred in the first place, and within a few minutes I had no more internet and phone service. After 21 hours and a ER visit due to my heart condition and a swollen face from collapsing and hitting it on the corner of a table I was unable to get anything done and the continuous disconnections with no call backs and being transferred from several countries and numerous USA states, although I kept asking for US reps. only due to the Colombian and Filipino reps. saying they could not do anything from their end. This 2 days of interruption did substantial damage to our associations business and I was told nothing could be done until 11/11 which would be 6 days later. Now the only luck I had was that the substation for their company is directly across the street and on 11/07 a tech. pulled in and I walked over and spoke with him and thank you tech Mike you are a lifesaver. The new problem currently not fixed is they refuse to return my internet speed I originally had and currently pay for which is listed on both the bill and repair order. On top of being a 40 year customer they also changed our phone number, and due to the internet speed there are two seperate lines coming into the house which one is for the phone and is a 25yo line and a newer line about 6 years specifically for the internet line which could carry the original higher speed, they reversed the two and it took awhile before it was realized that they had been reversed and again thanks to the tech Mike he was able to retrieve our original phone number but was specifically told not to give me the original higher MBPS. So, currently waiting for a return call from corporate and at the same time filing complaints with every agency I can for this complete mess of a company.

  3. Senator Rand Paul and his wife were mugged and threatened with death last night walking to their hotel after the President's acceptance speech at the White House. Did I see any mention of that on the CenturyLink news feed today? NO! Shame on you. You're showing your bias. Isn't the news media supposed to be unbiased?

  4. Called 16 times for service, got no help, they pass me to another desk,Have to start all over again, name, tel #,zip code, etc.then the phone will go dead.time for change, cancel my account,se3nd me a list of equipment to be returned.

  5. WOW! I thought my problem was an isolated incident but after reading the above comments, I see I am not alone in my frustration. It took several phone calls and several days after my initial call to get my problem fixed. Wait around all day for someone to come but never shows, or worse yet, goes to wrong house? During that time I kept being told to download the app but how am I supposed to do that when I have no internet and I do not use a smart phone? I am staying put for the time being but will start exploring my options and see what else is out there. This customer service definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

  6. February 2019.
I made the mistake of returning to CenturyLink after a few years, thinking that they may have improved their service. What a disaster!
Their technician (if you can call him that) showed up to install their fiber optic cable providing their internet service. After a few hours he departed that afternoon. That evening upon retiring I found that I could NOT set me home alarm. After calling ADT they found that I had an open circuit on my alarm system. ADT attended the next day and found that this CenturyLink idiot had cut my telephone line. They repaired it BUT wanted to charge $175 because the fault was caused by negligence. The ADT technician stated that this was quite common when CenturyLink attend an installation. The following day a fresh CenturyLink tech. showed up to finish their installation and he discovers that the previous idiot had installed the incorrect outside distribution box. That had to be changed out for the system to work. This brought back my memories of their telephone service that I had from them years ago. I had their telephone line which developed a fault. They sent out one technician who could NOT repair the fault. The following day they sent two techs. but still could NOT fix the fault. Coincidently later that day I had an ADT tech. here and spoke about this telephone fault .The ADT tech. did me a favor and repaired the fault in 10 mins.
So CenturyLink not only WERE useless but STILL remain so. Stay away from this USELESS company. Their account`s department are pretty useless as well.

  8. i was amazed to see my bill, so i called up customer service. they charged me $15 late fee for paying my bill one day late. leanne said that paying the fee was "optional", and "it was completely up to me whether to pay it or not". i corrected her by saying "if it were optional it would say "$15 late fee (optional)", and that it wasn't up to me if it's on my bill.
she transferred me to the site manager who told me i would have to pay the late fee if it were "one day late or one penny short". then, when i told her that that's not what my contract says, and if that were the case that should be stated up front, she replied with "if you want we can disconnect your service tonight"
needless to say, tonight i ported my number to comcast.

  9. I am logging a complaint to CEO and/or Executive Complaint line. I've had my existing DSL line for many, many years. In some recent work it was determined that my location is too far from the main switch on Camp 3 Road, Columbus, MN. I was told that in order to increase my speed from the current 1.5 MBPS higher a CAF System will need to be installed closer to myself and my neighbors on Furman St NE and Crossways Lake Road to get a better throughput.

Years ago when the web pages didn't have so much embedded code the 1.5 was sufficent. But, as things have envolved, the 1.5 speed is barely usable any longer.

Please let me know how to proceed to get this request in a queue somewhere to be addressed. I work from home every day and the constant decline in response is affecting my ability to complete my work on time.

  10. I do not know how Customer Service and the Executive Management of Centurylink is still employed. I have been complaining about the internet feeds stopping for years. Customer Service has hung up on me numerous times while I am stating my problems. Suggestion hire English speaking people for those of us who speak English. I have been told that it is a modem problem and to purchase a new modem. Then purchase 2 modems and paid for another line to solve the slow internet. Or buy a separate Router and Modem. Or the Fiberoptictics in my area must be upgraded and the area is too small for an upgrade. Yet the a much smaller area down the street has been upgraded for year, Bottom-line: Any dealing with Centurylink is a lose-lose experience due Lack of EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT.
