I registered to stay at your hotel located in Columbus Ohio. The suite was very dirty and the entire hotel looked to be abandoned. I registered at the front desk but express my distaste for the property. once I entered the suite the stairs were worn out, the room smelled of smoke and alcohol, kitchen area was very dirty, dishes were sticky and the stove was full of grease. The bathroom was dirty as well as the sink and tub. I called down to the front desk and requested my 345 be returned to me along with my 100 fee for incidentals.
I've never stayed in any of your hotels and after this experience I will not ever consider staying.

On the evening of 12/13/19, I booked a one night stay for the night of 12/14/19. We had a family emergency surgery & the hospital there was the only facility within 3 hours that could provide. I needed a room with a hot tub. Could have stayed elsewhere, but this was available & I booked through Expedia. Check in was not ugly, just not personable- give me your ID & CC, here's your key. Went to the room & no hot tub- room was 207- very tight & what seemed like a phone booth for a shower. I went to the front desk & explained this not being the room I reserved or being charged. She keyboarded a while, then walked away for a few & said the room I reserved was not availabe. We stayed because it would be too late to get anything else, The bathroom also had a large cockroach. Sleep was not comfortable, linens didn't seem fresh, the air/heat couldn't be adjusted to a comfortable level & we could not bathe. In the morning I mentioned our room not being correct & the roach in the bathroom- she just offered an apology and said nothing could be done due to 3rd party booking (expedia??). I asked for a receipt and she said she couldn't for the same reason(????).
I called Hawthone Sts customer care on Monday, 12/16/19. They told me the same thing as the hotel clerk/mgr. I then called Expedia, I held on while the rep. called the hotel. The same hotel mgr stated she tried to notify me via phone two days prior to my reservation(to let me know my room was not availale) and that I slammed my phone down on her. Hmmm, maybe some else because I made the reservation the night before (????).
Expedia contacted her back with this fact & stated the mgr was strongly worded & she could not explain this to her. I'd appreciate contact on this matter.
I've been inquiring about employment with your company.i applied and interviewed but the my phone was stolen or lost so a few days passed before I could check back with your people. However.. After explaining a woman named Jamie burst out laughing, as if I'd told her a joke, and claimed she just doesn't know..thats the only answer I could get out of her. Very unprofessional and rude I guess maybe my having manners and speaking respectfully to people must have disqualified me from the job, based on the customer service I received I'm thankful I wasn't hired into a group of people like that.
We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites on S. University in Fort Worth, TX. This is a nice area of the city but this place was the worst hotel you can possibly imagine. Never had been there before or to any Hawthorn Hotel and won't be back! You wouldn’t let your dog stay there. Showers did not work. Cracked shower stalls where curtain rods were attached. The maintenance was the worst I've ever experienced. The maintenance man came on the second day after we had called the first day. He came in the late afternoon and could only fix one of the showers but by then, it was too late. We had to leave to go to the event we came to do in Fort Worth just as we had had to do the day before and on both days we got back after midnight. So, for two days we couldn't get a shower. Horrible bed was hard as a board. It gave my wife a back ache almost instantly. Had to go to Walmart to get a foam mattress pad and comforter for additional padding so she could sleep. I didn't get a back ache but found it hard to sleep for very long at a time. Horrible TV in the bedroom was grainy and unwatchable on most channels. There were two burned out lights, one over the kitchen sink and one in the hall in our bedroom next to our closet. I fixed the one in the hall by getting a bulb out of another socket in another room. There were no drain plugs in the bathroom sinks. Their big name sign near the street wasn't even lit up at night making it look as if they were not open. The only light you could see from the street came from the check-in desk through a weird looking 4-panel sliding glass door. Had to know where to turn in to their driveway because there was no lighting for that either. Shabby exterior. Needed painting in the worst way. The anti-burglar rods in the sliding glass doors on the ground level units really gave the place extra charm, too. The management refused to refund any part of the charges. The entire staff at that location had an attitude. So, you can bet that all the staff at Hawthorn does, too because that always starts at the top. This kind of hotel is for all the suckers like us who don't want to pay the riff-raff tax to stay in an overpriced hotel for whatever reason. This place may have a lower price per room but you'll kick yourself every day for staying there because it really is that bad. So, PAY THE RIFF RAFF TAX! You won't regret it!
We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites on S. University in Fort Worth, TX. This is a nice area of the city but this place was a dump/ghetto. This was the worst hotel you can possibly imagine. Never had been there before or to any Hawthorn Hotel and won't be back! Anyone who would give this place a good rating has no brain and no self-respect. He was an idiot, reminded me of Curly of the 3 Stooges. We had to leave to go to the event we came to do in Fort Worth just as we had had to do the day before and on both days we got back after midnight and went to bed. So, for two days we couldn't get a shower. Horrible bed was hard as a board. It gave my wife a back ache almost instantly. Their big name sign near the street wasn't even lit up at night making it look as if they were not open. The only light you could see from the street came from the check-in desk through a stupid looking 4-panel sliding glass door. It gave the place a creepy, film noire look at night. Had to know where to turn in to their driveway because there was no lighting for that either. Shabby exterior. Needed painting in the worst way. The anti-burglar rods in the sliding glass doors on the ground level units really gave the place extra charm, too. The management refused to refund any part of the charges. Lied and said Hotels.com had to refund me and Hotels.com said that wasn't true and that the onus was on the Hawthorn. Hotels.com customer svc person was Indian and I couldn't understand much of what he said, so who knows who is responsible to resolve anything there. The Wyndham people said they would help me get a complete refund but they didn’t. They just sluffed me off on Hawthorn customer service who they sluffed me off on Hotels.com customer service. This time, Hotels. Com customer service told a different story and eventually got me half of what I paid after the Hawthorn people at the location lied again. Said we had never contacted them and they weren’t going to refund us anything. The entire staff at that location had an attitude. So, you can bet that all the staff at Hawthorn does, too because that starts at the top. It's for all the suckers like us who don't want to pay the riff-raff tax to stay in an overpriced hotel for a particular trip. I wouldn't characterize us as white trash but it sure looked like that was the majority of their clientele from what we observed at that location. So, Hawthorn makes a nice profit on their crappy rooms and the WT's don't have to sleep in the back of their pickups under a tarp. A win-win for all of them. The fact that the entire staff was black and acted like it had nothing to do with how things were done around there or their smirky attitudes towards the white clientele, of course. They reminded me of an old south movie where they were loading cotton onto steamboats and others are getting back at the massah on the plantation. So disgusted, no more words.
From the looks of it, we are all basically experiencing the same situation: hawthorne is wyndams "we don't really give a s!#* division. I must say though that the location just outside of the Philadelphia airport is a stay which is leaps and bounds better in terms of room condition and staff.
I reserved a one night stay at the Hawthorn Suites in Grand Rapids, MI for December 10 thru December 11 2016. I reserved this through Expedia.com. My confirmation number is: 51537008. After being settled in the room, my wife and daughter informed me there was NO cold water available at either the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink, or the shower. When I ran the water to see if it would become cold, it got HOTTER. And the hot water side was hotter still! Being a plumber, and knowing the toilet water should be cold, I tested that as well. IT WAS WARM ALSO! I called the front desk to explain, and they said they would send maintenance up to us to check out the issue. After waiting for thirty minutes, we had to leave for my daughter’s graduation ceremony from college (the reason for our stay). I stopped at the front desk to confirm the issue and we would be gone for several hours so they had ample time to correct the situation. I also asked to be given another room which would have made matters simple. I was informed she would have to get back to me since the cleaning crew was ongoing and she could tell me what was available (not sure why she could not have told me at that moment). A half hour later I received a call from the office saying maintenance had checked matters out and there was no problem. The maintenance person explained to the desk person that there is a single handle lever for the sink and it controlled both hot and cold water. Again, being a plumber, I explained I know about single handle levers and that was not the issue. She again informed me what the maintenance person said, whereas I asked her whose opinion mattered more the maintenance guy, or mine the customer. Her reply, ”I don’t know.” I asked for another room which was met by there was none available. In addition, there was no apology, and no discussion with me to try and make amends for our inconvenience. Since I was already at the graduation ceremony, AND had an angry wife about the situation, I was not happy. I informed the young lady we were not returning and I was not paying for anything, and I would contact the appropriate people. I hope this has reached that party.
I would have been glad to have come to some sort of accommodation since we were a two hour drive from home and attending a significant event in life; but there was not attempt on the hotels’ part.
We stayed at Hawthorn on Galena in Centennial, Colorado over the weekend. We should have checked out as soon as we saw the room, but decided to go ahead and stay. The hotel looks horrible. Hallway carpet was filthy. Coffee in lobby was ALWAYS cold and not fresh. Recliner in room was torn to bits and should have been removed by management. I do not fault the staff except for one thing — someone stole a new sweater that I had just purchased and it still had the tags on it. I was told that housekeeping did not turn it in to lost and found and they said it was not in the room. THAT WAS A LIE. Indigents were allowed to stay there, having been paid for by local churches. UNSAFE HOTEL!
Just stayed here and it was a terrible stay. Took forever to check in. They take a deposit that you are never told about. We went and did our thing the next day to come back to a room with no maid service. Not once for a 3 night stay did we ever see a maid. We had to supply our own garbage bags and drinking cups. Complained to manager about service and still nothing got done. We will not be staying here again and will not recommend this place to anyone.
