I stayed at Homewood suites in Canton mass April 25, 2023. the ac in half the room was not working when we arrived. the maintenance team got it working and after an hour is stopped again. temp in the room was 74 degrees. upon our departure I mentioned that the ac was still not working and the person thanked me for letting them know. I called the hotel in 5/3/23 and the person said that a manager would call me right back. that has not occurred.
We booked through bookings.com, paying the entire bill in advance through that site. Upon check-in, Homewood took our credit card for incidentals, not an issue. When we checked out, Homewood charged our credit card for one night, plus taxes and fees, even though we had a zero balance. My husband has spent weeks trying to sort it out with the specific hotel and they won’t refund our money. We will never stay at a Homewood again. The staff has been rude, unprofessional and has made no attempt to rectify the situation.
BEWARE! Homewood Suites cancelled our reservation 6 hours before check-in, even though I booked through Expedia 8 months prior. The hotel agent had the nerve to say 'but we won't charge you the cancellation fee' like she was doing me a favor! Book at your own risk.
What a dirty trick to delete my letter before your system accepted it, because my comments were true but negative. This just adds another NEGATIVE comment to my complaints. I have a copy of it, and will send it to numerous social internet sites, travel editors at magazines and newspapers, etc. unless an executive of your company contacts me within two weeks.
YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE MY ORIGINAL LETTER IN YOUR SYSTEM, READ IT, REPLY TO IT, PUBLISH IT IF YOU DARE.
BUT, KNOW THAT I WILL FOLLOW THROUGH AS STATED IF NOBODY CONTACTS ME! I HAVE WRITTEN AND PUBLISHED MANY PAID-SUBSCRIPTION NEWS LETTERS FOR OVER 25 YEARS, AND KNOW HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY DELUGE THE MARKET PLACE WITH MY INFORMATION.
My advice: BE WARNED and do the right thing … CONTACT ME!!
Stayed at your new one-year-old hotel in Laurel, MD, and have several complaints about your service, personnel, and unfriendly self-made rules.
I am almost deaf and could not use the phone. If you had a current/newer phone with a loud-speaker feature, I would have been able to use it. Ever hear of the ADA act? (American's with Disabilities Act)
Arrived at 2PM and had to wait in the lobby till 3PM to check in. Our room was obviously ready long before 2PM, but they wouldn't give us the key-card until after 3PM.
The toilet location in the bathroom was unbelievable. On a large available wall it was placed so close to the entry door that the door cleared it, to close, by only about 1/2". This meant that every time we used it we banged and bruised our right arm on the very large door handle sticking out of the door … and our left arm when getting up and off the toilet.
Couldn't find the toilet paper. After looking around for it, I spied it behind the open door. PROBLEM: I couldn't reach it with the door opened, and couldn't close the door while sitting there. SEE PREVIOUS COMMENT.
Finally got up from the toilet, grabbed my cane and walked out to the sink and washed my hands. Guess what? No towels on the towel racks at the sink! Looking around I found all the towels hanging over and next to the toilet. I then had to grab my cane with very wet hands to walk back into the toilet to dry them (as well as to dry my wet cane handle). Same thing the next day after housekeeping cleaned the room. VERY STUPID, WOULDN'T YOU SAY?
Walked into the suite and tried to turn on the lights at the door. They didn't go on! Called the desk and was told to insert our key-card into the little box near the door, which would allow the lights to come on. The desk should have told us that when we were finally handed our key card. WE ARE NOT MIND READERS!
No waste paper basket in the bedroom/livingroom/kitchen area … only in the bathroom.
No ice tray in the freezer compartment of the fridge.
Ugly very large electrical-panel door in bedroom facing the bed. Should have been made to open on the other side of the wall, in the bathroom.
Check out time stated to be at 11AM. Was told there would be an extra charge of $50.00 to stay two more hours, and a full day's room rate, if we needed to stay beyond 1PM. After complaining/arguing with front desk personnel, finally got permission to stay till 1PM without paying their $50 extra charge. A full-days lodging, which we paid for, is 24 hours. Normal check out should have been 3 PM, the time we had to sit in the lobby for, in order to get our room key card when we arrived.
There was no real interest or concern from the front desk staff about our complaints, problems, difficulties, suggestions, or requests. They were ignored, I suppose because they hear the same complaints from MOST GUESTS checking out!!!
Breakfast was great, room was large and comfortable … BUT THAT'S THE ONLY GOOD THING WE CAN SAY ABOUT OUR STAY THERE! Everything else was DOWNHILL, AGGRAVATING, BAD!!! THIS IS NOT A PLEASANT, HAPPY, SATISFYING PLACE TO STAY!!!!
I WOULD LIKE A HILTON HEADQUARTER'S EXECUTIVE TO READ AND REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE MY CONTACT ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER IS ON MY FOLIO # 57218A, CONFIRMATION # 84733148, SUITE 207/NKJ, 4/28/2017 3:05PM TO 4/30/2017 1:01pm.
If I do not hear from one of your executive officers within a two week period, I will post this letter on many social media Internet places, as well as send it to numerous travel editors at leading newspapers and magazines. If you decide not to publish this letter on your site, I will follow through with its release as stated.
Stayed at the Springfield, Va Homewood Suites for an extended stay due to a family matter,to make a looong story short my stay was cut short die to a faulty toilet seat in our suite, my son fell off the toilet seat being that it was never fixed but addressed with management and housekeeping multiple times. My son suffered from a inch split in his chin from this incident. No manager or anyone has contacted me regarding this matter nor have I recieved any refund. The well being of my son was put at risk because the lack of someone doing there job. I AM HIGHLY UNSATISFIED AND PLAN YO PURSUE THIS INCIDENT.The hotel itself is nice but the service is not !
We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Columbia SC on Nov. 30. The room had a range, refrig, microwave and coffee pot. NO pans, plates, glasses, cups or cutlery- NONE! There were not even cups in the bathroom- nor any soap or shampoo! We had 2 bath towels- NO hand towels or wash cloths. AND the coffee pot did not work (I tried multiple outlets. Since the room had no phone, I walked to the office IN THE POURING RAIN to request some cups/glasses and was told they had none! They said they would deliver soap/shampoo- they did not! Totally dissatisfied. I feel a refund is due for this inconvenience and poor service. Also- found a DIRTY CLEANING RAG hanging in the shower curtain! GROSS!!
“$100 per night to sleep on filthy, nasty sheets! A total nightmare!”

As a result of a recent storm, my parents were without electricity for a few days. With heat indexes over 100 degrees, it wasn't safe for them to wait at home for the power to be restored. I used Tripadvisor to select & reserve a suite at what I believed would be a clean & comfortable hotel…
After making the reservation online, I wanted to make sure that my elderly parents were able to check-in easily, without any problems.so I called & spoke with a woman at the desk to make sure Homewood had all of my credit card info. I got a call from Mama in the early evening, when they arrived at the hotel & were unable to check-in without me & my credit card! When I spoke with the desk again, I was told that I had to drive to the hotel & produce my Visa card in person in order for them to get a room. BUT, I don't live in Broken Arrow & would have to drive there. I convinced the desk that I would bring my plastic card first thing the next morning. What if I lived 500 miles away??? According to Homewood "policy" I would be required to travel 500 miles to hand over my card. There were no other options. That's crazy!!!
I took my card to the desk the next morning, I went up to visit my parents in their suite. The room seemed nice enough for the price. BUT, Mama called me when they got back to their house. She said that she didn't know if she could ever sleep in a hotel again after what she had seen. Before they checked out, she went to strip the bedcovers & discovered something she wishes she could "unsee." On the top sheet, was a stranger's make-up, which is bad enough… then she saw the smear of human feces!!!
She made a complaint at the front desk when they were leaving & was told that the manager would refund 1 night's charges & someone from management would contact her. BUT, the hotel still hasn't contacted either of us or refunded any of my money.
I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE i WAS CHARGED $100 A NIGHT FOR MY PARENTS TO SLEEP IN NASTY SHEETS!!!

My family stayed at the Homewood Suite in Windsor Locks Connecticut. We checked in on Sunday July 3rd and checked out on Tuesday July 5th. On Monday morning (July 4th) we went for breakfast and it was scarce. Not enough staff to replenish the food. The front desk manager told my daughter she was on the phone when she asked her for more syrup. Finally my daughter brought the empty container to her. Only certain people were given to go plates. The sign for the pool said it opened at 9 but the maintenance guy said that was incorrect and took a sharpie and changed the time to 10. The next day I overheard him complaining about the situation of the crowd waiting for the pool to open. There were lots of excited children and the pool did not open until 10:20am. Breakfast was worse on Tuesday. One of the employees loudly complained while looking at me that he was not making anymore breakfast. It was 8:40 and breakfast ended at 9. There were 7 of us I paid for a suite. I asked for 4 to go containers and the manager looked at me as if I had asked for the entire buffet. She said well how many people are in your room. I said 7 just give me whatever you can spare and I will make it work. I made 4 waffles and we shared that. My son did not eat. The hot tub is out of service although I was not told that when I booked. They advertise bbq grills but only have 2 so you better sign up early. The grill we had had a broken switch. The final straw was that they charged me $92 for having extra people in my room. I booked a two bedroom suite and stated that there would be 8 of us which was written on my confirmation. The manager said he had to check into that and get back to me. I had to call him. Then he said that he did receive my email proving that I was charged incorrectly and asked me to send it to another email. He responded from his iphone. I think he did not want a record of his screw up. I was not surprised because when I complained to him about the poor service when checking out he promised to get back to me within the hour. I am still waiting to hear from him. I take a trip with my family to Connecticut every year and can guarantee that I will never stay at a Homewood Suites again. The sidewalk in front of my room was cracked. At check in the front desk manager mistakenly gave my room away while I was standing there. I said didn't you just give that room to the person who came and asked to switch rooms? The basketball court was next to the grill area and I was hit in the head with a ball. If you want a nice place to stay where the staff isn't disgruntled about having to work don't stay at the Homewood Suites in Windsor Locks!
