  1. I would like to call your attention to MANDI EVERTSON – a store manager at the 7900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, IL 60714 address.

    I have shopped at this store for over 30 years. Over the past few, Mandi has helped me with various issues a number of times. Mandi is knowledgeable, professional, courteous and most of all, patient. She is everything that one would hope a service manager would be. So, I would like to take the time to recognize Mandi for handling my questions and for helping me the way she has. I’m sure that Mandi must be a very valued member of your team. She always does a great job. So, please put this note in her records so that when her next performance review comes up, you will use this memo for at least one reason to give her a raise.

  2. I live in Hoffman Estates, IL and I have a complaint that I would to get an answer to. I am looking at a Jewel ad for 4/19 to 4/25. There is a statement on the first page of this ad that states the following: SELECT ITEMS AND RETAILS ON THIS PAFE ONLY AVAILABLE AT 1151 S. Roselle or 2501 Schaumburg Rd. However nowhere on the first page is anything marked to indicate which items are only available at those stores. This is bait and switch. Shame on Jewel. I thought that Jewel was better than this. I do not have a smartphone to use any kind of AP. I can see that anyone at Jewel does not care about customers who either do not have access to APs or choose not to have access. But I should not be surprised at a store that requires people to buy more than 1 of some products to get a sale price. A lot of senior citizens (and others) do not feel the need to buy more than 1 of item if that is all that they need. If anyone wants to talk to me (probably not), my phone number is. Thank you for letting me let off some steam.

     
  3. I shop mostly at the rt 14 Cary store, I live closer to the rt 14 Crystal Lake store although I like the Cary Jewell much better. The Crystal Lake store is so overstuffed with the product on the end caps it is hard to get thru. I have tried Just For U a couple of times never with a good result. I gave up on the junk, is still snobs I am not able to get the same prices as the person next to me. please do away with the goofed-up deal. Thank you Bob

     
  4. I bought several Signature brand old-fashioned oats at the Jewel at 9449 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, IL on sale in late October. I have used some of them with no problem until this morning when I opened a sealed Signature brand old-fashioned oats container and about 15 pantry moths flew out of the container all over my kitchen. The inside of the container had a white stringy fuzz around the top and more pantry moth eggs inside on the oats. I don’t have the receipt anymore but I will never shop at that store again. I have had trouble with the rude director or top manager of the store, Bill, and his customer service people for complaining about spoiled items that I found out about after opening the boxes before but this is disgusting. Now we have to call an exterminator. I reported this to the Skokie Health Department and they told me that they will come to the store and investigate their cleanliness and that the product may have come that way from the Jewel warehouse. Also, the cashiers have overcharged me several times and complaints to Bill and customer service were dismissed with Bill yelling at me at the top of his voice. I am done with this store and so are my neighbors. You had better straighten out your employees’ attitudes and the cleanliness and past due dates on your products or there may be a lawsuit if someone gets sick.

     
  5. what I witnessed at jewels on Chicago ave in Evanston Illinois was so appalling, there were two kids panhandling outside of jewels not harassing anyone when all of a sudden out of nowhere some crazy man starts cursing at them using bad words and threatening the kids, the jewels employees and management proceeded to agree with this crazed man until I called the police, one manager Pierre was his first joined in with him. If he had the right to violate their human and constitutional rights as citizens, and then mark, one of the other managers did the same, the police came, agreed with me, and dealt with the matter, I and the police videotape the incident and I am prepared to submit this at Evanston city council meeting, this will not be tolerated. and the fact that now they have the audacity to hire some security guards to reinforce this behavior.

     
  6. There is a pc at the 63rd and main Downers Grove il Jewel. She works 12 hours a week at her leisure. You should have someone who is in charge of human resources at the store (the pc), available more than 12 hours a week. The prevailing attitude is that she's just there for the insurance. She does a horrible job simply because she is not there enough. A PC should be there full time.

     
  7. IM FURIOUS! I placed an order online at the South Holland, Illinois location around noon on yesterday. The earliest I could get it was from 4-6pm! I received notification around 2 that my order was being shopped for. I called just after 4 and was first told the order has been but then back tracked and said shes still shopping for it but shold be finish soon. *BTW…. when I call the Drive up and Go phone rings and noone answers so I call the main store. I was placed on hold for over 9 minutes and was told the driver came and saw how big the order was and left. They were in the process of calling another which they say arrived while on the phone. I spoke with store manager Joe. He about was sending at 25 gift card too. There was so much horrific minutiae in between all this that led to this gesture (which I had to actually insinuate).
    I got a message saying order was delivered but it was not!!! Now someone has my personal information from the receipt – Im out of 300.00 – and no groceries. I was also shopping for an 86 year old who had been waiting all day.
    Joe the mamnager said Doordash would call me to return my money. I have not spoken with them however Im not looking at them im looking for a resolution from JEWEL-OSCO. He seem to have washed his hands. I called the customer service and siad they can have it delivered tomorrow or give me 5 dollars off my next order…. WHAT AN INSULT!
    Ive shopped Jewl since i was 10 years old but this shoddy service and care im experiencing is nothing like the Jewel I knew before now. Im so disgusted in how this has been handled – WHERE IS MY MONEY??!

  9. My company gave me $50 worth of groceries for Christmas dinner. All I want to do is change pick up date since my plans changed and our little Christmas dinner is happening after the December 25th. OMG they sent me to 4 different transfers on the phone only to tell me they can't change the pick up date. WHAT??????? WHY????? Why is it so hard to change pick up date to a LATER date so groceries are still fresh??????? I am giving 4 days notice of this change. All 4 people they transferred me to said "I can't do it for you but maybe so and so can" and transferred me to another person only to get the same runaround. WHAT A STUPID POLICY THAT THE PICKUP DATE CAN'T BE CHANGED!!!!!!! NEVER WILL I ORDER A PICK, DELIVERY, OR ANYTHING FROM JEWEL AGAIN.

     
  10. I have been living in Palatine for over 27 years and have never been disappointed with the friendly helpful customer service at the Plum Grove Jewel. I want to thank the staff for working through this health crisis and being there for the customers.
    Today I went to pick up a Thanksgiving dinner and discovered that I had mistakenly ordered it on line for the wrong date…my bad ,no order. The manager and staff at the hot foods came to my rescue and put together a new order in 5 minutes . Saved me a lot of grief and aggravation.
