  • Massachusetts Avenue Boston MA. 6:30 PM 07/11/2014.

Store has windows so sun comes directly in during afternoon hours. Two men, one middle aged and one senior standing at back counter talking. Both obviously sweating. Two younger men a the front counter servicing customers, also sweating. It must have been 90 degrees in the store. The air was still and so hot. The air conditioner was not running. I was in the store 2-3 minutes and I was covered in sweat. I had to use a napkin to wipe the sweat from my face.

I commented to the cashier about how hot it was in the store and he mumbled something about the air conditioner. I asked him if they had to work in this type of heat all summer. He just gave a nervous laugh. I said that I didn't think was the way to treat employees and said that at the least they should have fans to move the air. The two men at the back counter stopped talking but didn't acknowledge my comments.

I think that this might be a Massachusetts Board of Health or Labor reportable offense and intend to pass my comments along to them.

  • My daughter is owed 14hrs pay!!! this has been since march 2014 – I so agree with your comment. how can they expect you to work for no money! yes the owners should be held accountable – what a way to treat these kids who are starting out in the work world. thanks red mango for teaching our children what scum is like to work for.

  • My daughter is owed 18 hours pay that is now over three weeks past due. How can they expect you to work for no money! They wanted her to take the money out of the drawer with no pay stub and she said no she needs a pay stub. It is disgusting. They should not treat their employees that way. The owners should be held accountable!

  • Absolute JOKE with the new gift card system. Tried to purchase 10, $10 gift cards and was told they could not accept cash payment for them. When they went to use the "new" system, I had to swipe my card 10 times to get charged for them individually and the manager had to type in each cards code. I wasn’t given a receipt, or any confirmation other than to give my cell which I was told would send me a text when the cards were used confirming a charge?!?? I went to the first location, only to be told there system was down, so I drove to another to then spent 45 minutes getting these cards! The store lost 3 customers while I was there and the store manager was socializing with people on the couch rather than helping them before they walked out. VERY DISATISFYING. I then went to check the card balances today because I didn't see the charges on my account and low and behold, there's no money on them. I am surprised at the lack of training the employee received being thrown something new that day (she did great by the way with what she was given), but the overall lack of negligence activating a new system, and the poor follow through of the manager was very displeasing. We frequent thee stores quite often but this left such a bad taste in my mouth I doubt I’ll be going there again anytime soon, unless they correct the situation. Funny thing is, I can't get ahold of anyone at corporate.

  • I was in your store tonight in downtown and was so disappointed in the customer service I received I thought you should know. I purchased almost $20.00 worth of yogurt for my three kids and myself. We had to yell out to get someone to come help us when we first got there (this should have been the first bad sign). After getting ice cream where I intentionally checked the labels on the scoops and yes, I did scoop up the one that said chocolate chips not carob, yet I received carob chips. When I told the your employee, Sarah, she went over and looked, tasted them and said oh yeah I guess they aren't right and fixed the two scoops. When I said I can't eat this ice cream it tasted disgusting and was full of the carob chips she said sorry I can't do anything about it. You could make yourself a new one but you will have to pay for it. REALLY?? She was rude, condescending and didn't care that the ice cream I had was ruined because the toppings were NOT labeled correctly. She said well you can scoop them out but I can't do anything for you. Seriously? So I did scoop them out and weighed how much I scooped out it was 2.2 ounces of carob chips that I didn't want and would never get. I won't be returning to your store ever again and I thought you should know why. Give Sarah a big high five as to how to make sure you don't' have customers ever want to come back. I will also be sharing this experience with ever person I know because her behavior and the level of customer service I received were unbelievably bad.

  • Went to a Red Mango location on Bell Blvd in Bayside, NY and the service was terrible. There were 4 employees behind the counter just talking while customers were waiting to be attended to at the register. None of them seemed to care and was not attentive at all. I will never go to this location again. Even the employee in charge had a bad attitude. Please see to it that this location hires better, more attentive employees, and not just teenagers at work who only care about talking amongst themselves. All the other locations I have been to in flushing were wonderful so I don't know why this one was such a different experience.
