  • recently signed up at Menlo Mall New Jersey. Site manager inconsistencies on how he handle promotions and/or gifts upon becoming a member are terrible. Truly unhappy with his customer service. He seems to be in a bad mood each and everyday. People try to stay away from him because of his attitude. This site is clean and well kept but unfortunately management needs improvement. My husband and I never received the gift cards we were told we would receive upon signing up. My husband was charged $15.00 for a day pass when in fact website says "get a free 5 day pass" Hope headquarters gets a good look at what's going on and make changes… sometime real soon!!!!!!!!!!

  • My recent trip to Menlo Park NJ Work out World was terrifying because of a man who claimed he was the general manager. I have never been so disrespected in my life! In fact I was so terrified by this man's gestures, I ran out of the building fearing my Life! I went in to take a tour of the facilities and he literally interrogated me about a pass that was given to me from a friend who no longer has a WOW in her area. I truly do not know how this company can go on as a functional business with such low class, loud mouth, possibly druggies working for them!!! Shame on this company!

I was unable to cancel my membership on the web. I managed to get there corporate office and a man said I owed $27 and that he would help me cancel it. Nothing happened. And soon I'm being billed for the next month. And then the next month. It's lucky that my credit card expired so they can't charge me. But we're at a stalemate. If I talk to the low-level people who are drones nothing will be accomplished. Now it's impossible to call anybody in administration. So we're at a standoff they keep billing me and I keep telling them I'm not going to pay. I'm in limbo and I don't know what's going to happen

  • My daughter cancelled her membership back in September when she went away to college. She returns from college to find out they never cancelled it. Now the only way to get rid of the past charges is to re-join pay a monthly fee and yearly fee of about 80.00 and then try and re-cancel it again!!!!! You talk to the manager at WOW they refer you they refer you to ABC financial then they refer you First Credit Service. It's nothing but a big run a round!!! They admit the previous manager was not handling affairs correctly but are still making the members suffer for her errors. The Taunton Ma WOW has been losing members in bulk daily! Something needs to be done!!!!!!!!

  • I joined WOW in New London, CT six weeks ago. I try to go almost every day to the gym. They are not open on the weekends, and I sometimes go to a less convenient WOW alternate location. When I able to go to the New London WOW, over 50% of the time there has been no hot water. It's not healthy to sweat and then be forced to go out in the cold without showering. I complained, and their fix was to post a "No Hot Water" sign so if you worked out and got sweaty, you did so at your risk. I'm calling the Health Department!

  • WOW is the absolute worst with customer service. I've been charged repeatedly for "Bootcamp" something I never signed up for and have yet to be reimbursed for now going on 6 months! I had to cancel my credit card so that more charges would not be placed. They did notice that but did not notice the 6 months I've been asking for my money back.

  • It's amazing how many people complain anonymous and how your mistreated. How about saying how awesome some of these instructors are. I go the wow in Freehold, NJ and Christina is such a great motivator and great teacher….love her!!!!!! I leave early from work just to take her class!!!!

  • I called the WOW in Bellingham MA to ask what I needed to do to cancel my membership because I moved and there is no WOW near where I now live. I was told I only needed to bring proof of residency at my new address and my membership will be cancelled. I did as I was asked and that was in January. I am still being charged a monthly fee and they took out a renewal fee in February. They are refusing to refund my money and Im still fighting them to get my membership cancelled. I would NEVER recommend this gym to anyone and will try and talk everyone I can out of joining.

  • WoW is the worst for customer services and honestly I'm surprised that it is still a functioning business. The management is absolutely terrible. They had just taken over an old gym by my hometown and they have been nothing but annoying and rude to the older customers who were apart of the other gym. Today management reached an all time low after yelling at a 22 year old girl because she had gotten into a car accident and needed to take yoga classes. A 40 year old man SCREAMED at her for buying day passes. If this is the type of management that WoW employs then I am counting down the days until this gyms goes outta business. I have never been more upset by a business before. WoW is honestly terrible and NO ONE should be a part of their gym. Unless they like being harassed by management and talked down too.

  • I am also disappointed with WOW. Mostly with the customer service or lack of it. How impersonal and off putting is it being told by a ('present' ?) employee (in between their texting or using their phones) to express any concerns online..? Not their fault necessarily. Management (very rarely present) should oversee and address this. Although, they are just a product of higher mgmnt who, obviously looks no further than their bonuses. No way to contact any one else on a phone to resolve an issue??? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO BODIES OUT THERE to resolve more serious issues?? No one to reach by phone? I couldn't reach anyone at their corporate headquarters!! That's unacceptable. No one to speak to directly over billing concerns? It is also dangerous to not have enough staff or staff that is conscientious OR conscious to keep vigil over members who might get in trouble with a machine or weights. I've experienced it first hand involving myself and also another member who I happened upon(Thank God) while he was unconscious,injured and helpless. Had I not been there at that time ( I was the ONLY one upstairs at all) he might have been unconscious for who knows how long or possibly have died if not reached in a certain amount of time. How about a safety policy?? Or at least don't have your 'anxious to go home' employees shut the lights out on you on several occasions in the middle of your set. Dangerous? And cleaning? How is it I never see any cleaning staff (or fitness staff, when there might be nobody on duty?) wiping down any machines,in the least? I would not recommend this organization on their customer service alone, no less all the other issues. But, I guess their saving money on staff and training and upkeep( including 80% of the machines needing to be repaired or replaced). BUT, they WILL lose $ in the long run… Treat your members like they're worth keeping…

  • Unlike other comments I love WOW. But I just went from a 5 star rating on YELP to a 1 star. Look it up fir Randolph, Ma gym on Yelp.

    I cannot believe in 2014, I need to write a review on the male membership of the RANDOLPH W.O.W. I swear, Randolph is the "new" Lawrence.

    I have a vast array of rainbow friends from all walks of life. That being said its not 1950s anymore…..it's 2014….whats with the colored men membership-poor attitude at the gym? The attitude sucks.

    I walk up to one dude @ 930pm while he's resting in between sets on the leg squat machine, I ask him if I can do a set while he rests….oh NO he replies I have 2 more sets…..um yeah but I can still workin with u right? Oh No….I would have to change all the settings….I walk away letting him know how immature he is & I go talk with management.

    Management agrees that youth here are immature. ….btw management is man of color.

    4 nights ago @ 1am trying to do bench pressing. …I'm the only white guy in there with 3 black couples & 6 black men….out of the 6 benches I ask if I can do a set…the answer is a flat outright NO WAY….

    If you want to join Workout World in Randolph and your A White Person, who lifts weights…..sadly in order to avoid the immaturity levels here in Randolph, you must workout between the hours 4am-5pm to avoid the Uneducated Male Membership who have no clue how to treat others with respect.

    And one wonders why the young black youth feel like they're not being respected or y they feel persecuted on a human level……it all starts with us, we try to respect each other, but when is enough disrepect towards white people…ENOUGH? BEFIRE "WORKOUT WORLD" ACTUALLY STEPS UP AND PUTS AN END TO THIS B.S. VIA SIGNAGE OR?

    Thank God I pay $11 a month to workout at any Workout World Gym like Watertown or Taunton….where educated black membership treats EVERYONE with the utmost respect 100% of the time.

Pathetic lies and laziness keep your fraudulent righteousness in play. . I love WOW. 24 hr Fitness, LA Fitness and Equinox, Golds Gym and Planet Fitness. Stay out of those gyms. GET a LIFE and stay out of those gyms you haters. You sound like the twerps on the KKK site. Silly asses. Complaining about fitness while there is a national obesity epidemic. And also stay out of Curves.

    try putting your membership on freeze when you go away to college. They still charge you. Its a $10.69 charge , if you are a student and can show proof then they give you a break..$5.00 per month . No other gym charges for a freeze.

  • If they do not accept my application for cancellation, I will show up at the corporate office as I live nearby and am a victim of Hurricane Sandy. I will stop at nothing to give them negative press.

  • Just sent a claim to the Office of the Attorney General MA. They will review the business and cancellation policies of WOW if enough people complain. It's a free service, your taxes pay for it and they have the clout to actually do something about WOW's crap policies. For the dirty WOW's, call your town's Health Department and ask them to do a surprise inspection.

  • Foxboro MA location (formerly Blast Fitness): They removed all dumbbells over 70 lbs because they were 'intimidating', I guess there's a weight limit at this gym. Showers are never cleaned, same trash on the floor day after day. I caught one of the employees cleaning the bench in the mens locker room with the dirty mop just used on the floor.

  • I am in the process of cancelling mine and my husbands account and you are not permitted to speak with anyone. When I asked for the manager even he said he could not speak to someone. They are so greedy and such scammers that they must not want you to know who they are. Oh & several months after joining w/a vip membership which allows you to bring a guest an email went out stating that was no longer permitted. So basically you have to follow the contract but they can change it anytime.

  • i have the same problem….i have been charged every month since i cancelled and even twice!!! once i was charged on the same day i complained to Isaac at the La Mirada, CA facility. They can and do arbitrarily charge your card whenever they want.

  • I had joined this new club in Worcester, MA. It looked awful, had limited equipment and i was told that i wouldn't be charged till after 14 days from the opening of the gyme. I was then charged 8 days after and was never even notified that the gym was opened after i had checked with them 3 times and kept being told next week. I canceled my membership and had to fight to get reimbursed. After finally getting reimbursed and cancelled in January, yesterday i find out that they billed me 50 plus yet another 21.00!!.. I'm so pissed right now. I will go down to the gym and look to resolve this, however, if there is no response and quick action, i will be contacting Fox Undercover and my friends at the Telegram and Gazette to feature. I better see results!

  • I had cancelled my membership, had to fight with someone get my money reimbursed and after almost two months of cancellation i am billed again!! I'm so pissed, i am contacting fox undercover to get all of this out in the public eye. My friends at the local Newspaper are going to have a blast with this. Funny how so many complaints and not one corporate response. Shame on me for not reading the obvious signs. Worcester WOW….

    • Yes it is, an me and my 2 friends just got locked in the gym last night when they failed to check the sauna an make us aware of the time. We were able to get out but had to call the NP police.

      Just a "heads-up" >> Don't even think about going to Massachusetts Blast/WOW, their FILTHY! Haven't been cleaned since take over from Bally's well over a year ago~! The floors, the ladies area, the sauna, tiles, etc. etc.. FILTHY..They had the board of health in there today..Disgusting..
      No matter how many times you ask the "manager", about the dirty club, he hasn't done a thing..GROSS.. I'm out of there..
      Bally's had a professional cleaning company, this place has a few teenagers, that sit around, and do nothing..They tell us that the company will NOT give them cleaning supplies: i.e.> clorox, bleach, ajax,windex etc. NOTHING..So they're cleaning floors with "black" filthy mop, in the big yellow pail of black water (only)..
      Honestly, this place needs CITY/STATE attention..Young kids running these places_INCOMPETENT! Don't even think they wipe machines down~

  • I am a local police officer and I will be telling everyone I know, friends, co-workers, even strangers to not join WOW in any way shape or form just due to the fact that I can't call someone to cancel my membership. What they don't tell you is that if you want to cancel your membership then you have to go to a separate website, print out a cancellation request form, pay out of your own pocket to send it via US Certified Mail and wait for an approval? Well, I'll make sure to make everyone aware.

    • I recently did this for myself and my husband and we received our certifieds back, unsigned. I called simply to verify that someone physically had our cancellation forms but as you know they are the CIA and you are not allowed to speak on the phone. 1 week and counting on a reply. They will not appreciate it when I show up there one of these afternoons.

    • I've had an ongoing issue with them since April. Everything with them goes in the black hole, i leave messages and notes with the front desk and "the cleaning crew" throws them out….manager tells me to put in a request online for someone to contact me and the website doesn't work (tried from 3 diff computers)….

    • I am having this same issue!! I was working in New Jersey so I signed up with the one in Ocean and asked about how the cancellation processed worked as I would be returning home in just a few short months. I was never told I couldn't cancel over the phone or in person… I sent in my letter, saw it was signed for and honestly forgot about it. Checked my account today and the monthly dues have been being drafted for the past 3 months. I absolutely HATE that you cannot call and speak with anyone at corporate and that you have to either wait on the location to contact them and then contact you or send an email. I agree everything gets lost in the black hole. It is ridiculous!! DO NOT SIGN UP AT WOW!!!

  • WOW has the worst customer service I've ever heard of. The only way you can speak to someone is through an e-mail when you have a problem. They take 3 transactions out of my account totaling $112.76. I go to the gas station today and was rejected. I had to get my daughter to bring me $20 for gas taking her out of class. I get home and have to email someone for my funds. that was at 10:53 my bank sends over the charge information and I haven't heard from anyone yet. Now I have to go pick up the kids from school and have no money to get them something to eat or snack on. I've taken a whole vacation day off from work and have spent the last 6 hours waiting on WOW to refund my money. They haven't even responded to me to let me know any type of status!!!! I am highly upset, why do I have to communicate with a company through email and no one live can help me. What is the problem? Do you not have a Billing Department set up in case of these scenarios?

    • You may have had a point in your response to the person who happened to be struggling with cash flow( AT THAT VERY TIME–we all get into squeezes–it was very 'WISE', and 'KIND' of YOU, to consider all circumstances) but you ended up looking more foolish and ignorant than anyone could in any circumstance–not to mention cowardice(anyone with a keyboard can make a thoughtless comment and run away–'sad'…)– having reduced yourself to insult and neglect of the real issue : lack of CARE and SERVICE for the customer or an accessible billing dept. representative to be reached in those times we need it the most–not to mention possibly being more careful or accurate in their billing. The biggest effect of an organization trying to save $$$ or just not caring after they get you to sign is the impact to the member, BUT also, sometimes unbeknownst to them, is the exact amount of loss they incur in the long run from people like us quitting and deterring others from joining.

    • I would feel really stinky if I work for this corporate office and read your blog because you are the company bread and butter being a member of the gym and deserve to be treated kindly, quickly and with dignity and respect. I hope the company correct this and give you a year free membership
