LPL Financial Corporate Office Headquarters: Address, Phone Number, Investor Support and Complaints

🗨  Comments

LPL Financial’s corporate headquarters is located at 4707 Executive Drive, San Diego, CA 92121. The published headquarters and advisor-support number is 1-800-877-7210. Individual investors with questions about an account should normally contact their financial professional first. If the financial professional is unavailable, investors can call LPL Investor Support at 1-800-558-7567.

LPL Financial provides brokerage, investment-advisory, custody, technology, compliance, research, and business-support services to financial professionals, banks, credit unions, insurance companies, registered investment advisers, and institutional wealth programs. Because many LPL financial professionals operate under independent practice names, investors should distinguish the local advisor or advisory firm from LPL Financial LLC, the broker-dealer and registered investment adviser.

LPL Financial Corporate Office and Investor Support Information

LPL Financial corporate office headquarters and investor support information

The number 1-800-877-7210 should not be described as the ordinary customer-service number for every investor. LPL currently directs individual account holders to their financial professional and then to Investor Support at 1-800-558-7567 when the advisor is unavailable.

Where Is LPL Financial Headquarters?

LPL identifies its principal corporate headquarters as:

LPL Financial
4707 Executive Drive
San Diego, CA 92121

The San Diego headquarters is located in the La Jolla Commons office park. The office supports executive leadership, wealth-management operations, advisor services, finance, legal affairs, compliance, technology, marketing, research, employment, and other companywide functions.

FINRA’s BrokerCheck system identifies a different address as the regulatory main office of LPL Financial LLC:

LPL Financial LLC
1055 LPL Way
Fort Mill, SC 29715

The two addresses serve different corporate and regulatory purposes. Investors should follow the address and notice instructions in their account agreement, statement, transfer form, privacy notice, or written communication rather than mailing account documents to an office selected from a general directory.

LPL Financial Ownership and Leadership

LPL Financial Holdings Inc. is a publicly traded financial-services company listed on Nasdaq under the symbol LPLA. LPL Financial LLC is its principal broker-dealer and registered investment-adviser subsidiary.

Current corporate leadership includes:

  • Chief Executive Officer: Rich Steinmeier
  • President and Chief Financial Officer: Matt Audette
  • Chief Growth Officer: Marc Cohen
  • Chief Client Officer: Matthew Enyedi
  • Chief People Officer: Emily Field
  • Chief Technology and Information Officer: Greg Gates
  • Chief Wealth Officer: Aneri Jambusaria
  • Chief Legal Officer: Matthew Morningstar

LPL traces its modern history to the 1989 merger of Linsco and Private Ledger. The company later became publicly traded in 2010 and has expanded through organic recruiting, institutional relationships, and acquisitions.

LPL Financial vs. the Local Financial Professional

An investor may interact primarily with a local financial professional whose office uses a separate business name. That professional may be an independent contractor, an employee of a financial institution, or associated with a separately registered advisory firm.

Depending on the relationship:

  • LPL may serve as the broker-dealer for securities transactions.
  • LPL may provide investment-advisory programs.
  • LPL may custody the investor’s brokerage assets.
  • The local financial professional may make recommendations and provide planning services.
  • A separate investment adviser may manage part of the relationship.
  • A bank or credit union may provide the location but not the investment product.
  • An insurance company may issue an annuity or insurance contract held outside LPL custody.

Review the financial professional’s business card, website disclosures, Form CRS, advisory agreement, account statement, and FINRA BrokerCheck report to identify the responsible entities.

Securities and advisory products are not ordinary bank deposits. They are not FDIC or NCUA insured, are not guaranteed by a bank or credit union, may lose value, and are not guaranteed by a government agency.

How to Escalate an LPL Financial Complaint

Start by contacting the financial professional who services the account. Explain the concern and request a written response when the complaint involves a transaction, recommendation, fee, withdrawal, transfer, beneficiary instruction, or account restriction.

If the advisor is unavailable or the response is unsatisfactory, call Investor Support at 1-800-558-7567.

Prepare:

  • The investor’s name and verified contact information
  • The financial professional’s name and practice
  • The LPL account number, shared only through a secure channel
  • The transaction or statement date
  • The security, product, or account involved
  • The dollar amount in dispute
  • Relevant confirmations, statements, agreements, and correspondence
  • A clear timeline
  • The specific correction or response requested

Ask Investor Support to document the complaint and explain the current procedure for submitting supporting records securely. Keep the case number, delivery confirmation, representative information, and copies of every document.

When a complaint involves an allegedly unauthorized transaction, unsuitable recommendation, misrepresentation, undisclosed fee, missing funds, forgery, elder exploitation, or other potential misconduct, state the allegation clearly and request review by the appropriate supervisory or compliance department.

Unauthorized Transactions, Fraud, and Identity Theft

Immediately contact the financial professional and Investor Support at 1-800-558-7567 if an investor notices an unauthorized transaction, suspicious withdrawal, unexpected address change, compromised Account View login, or possible identity theft.

Take the following steps:

  • Review recent transactions and statements.
  • Change the Account View password from a trusted device.
  • Do not share one-time security codes.
  • Do not grant remote computer access to an unexpected caller.
  • Preserve suspicious emails, texts, telephone numbers, and documents.
  • Contact affected banks, credit bureaus, or law enforcement when appropriate.

LPL states that it investigates reports of fraud and identity theft. Its Cyber Fraud Guarantee may reimburse qualifying direct, realized losses caused by unauthorized access to an LPL-controlled system, subject to the guarantee’s terms, exclusions, reporting requirements, and customer-security obligations.

The guarantee does not cover every scam or investment loss. Activity may be excluded when the client authorized access, shared credentials, approved a transaction, granted access to an account aggregator, or failed to satisfy other conditions.

Account View, Statements, and Tax Documents

Account View allows qualifying investors to review balances, activity, statements, tax documents, and other account information. Available features may vary according to the account and financial professional.

LPL advises investors to rely on official periodic account statements for accurate account, transaction, cost-basis, and tax information. Outside investments displayed through aggregation may be incomplete or may be held by another custodian.

Contact the financial professional or Investor Support when:

  • A statement is missing
  • A transaction is not recognized
  • The account registration is incorrect
  • A tax document has not appeared
  • Cost-basis information appears incomplete
  • Account View displays an incorrect outside account
  • Biometric or password login is not working

Do not use values displayed for an outside investment or delayed market quote as a substitute for an official custodian statement or professional tax advice.

Transfers, Withdrawals, and Distributions

Asset transfers, retirement distributions, wires, checks, electronic transfers, beneficiary payments, and account closures can require forms, identity verification, medallion guarantees, tax withholding elections, or review by another financial institution.

Before escalating a delayed transfer, collect:

  • The sending and receiving firms
  • The account registration at each firm
  • The transfer-control or tracking number
  • The date documents were submitted
  • Any rejected or ineligible assets
  • Outstanding fees or debit balances
  • Written explanations from both institutions

A delay may result from mismatched account registration, incomplete paperwork, restricted securities, unsettled trades, direct-held products, alternative investments, annuities, or another custodian’s requirements.

Verify wire instructions through a trusted telephone number before sending money. Email accounts can be compromised, and fraudulent instructions may appear to come from a financial professional or closing agent.

Fees, Recommendations, and Investment Complaints

LPL supports both brokerage and advisory relationships. Charges and obligations differ between those services.

A brokerage account may include commissions, transaction charges, markups, sales loads, account fees, or product expenses. An advisory account generally charges an ongoing asset-based or negotiated fee and may include additional product and account expenses.

Investors should review:

  • Form CRS
  • The brokerage or advisory agreement
  • Account fee schedules
  • Trade confirmations
  • Product prospectuses
  • Advisory-program disclosures
  • Cash-sweep disclosures
  • Conflict-of-interest disclosures

A decline in an investment’s value does not by itself prove misconduct. A complaint should identify a specific concern, such as an unauthorized trade, inaccurate statement, undisclosed conflict, excessive trading, unsuitable recommendation, failure to follow instructions, misleading representation, or unexplained fee.

SIPC, Excess Protection, and FDIC Insurance

LPL Financial is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation. SIPC protection generally covers up to $500,000 per qualifying customer, including a maximum of $250,000 for cash, if a member brokerage firm fails financially and customer assets are missing.

LPL also states that qualifying accounts have excess securities protection through Lloyd’s of London, subject to an aggregate firm limit and other conditions.

SIPC and excess coverage do not protect against:

  • Ordinary market losses
  • Declines in security values
  • Bad investment advice by itself
  • Losses in assets held outside LPL
  • Every form of fraud or scam

Cash placed in a qualifying bank-deposit sweep program may receive FDIC insurance through participating banks, subject to program rules, bank limits, account ownership, and the client’s other deposits at the same bank. Securities, money-market funds, and other investments are not FDIC insured merely because they appear in an LPL account.

Regulatory Complaint Options

Investors should generally give LPL an opportunity to review a complaint first and preserve all correspondence.

An unresolved brokerage complaint may be submitted to FINRA. FINRA investigates potential violations and may discipline registered firms and professionals, but filing a complaint does not guarantee the recovery of money.

Concerns involving an investment adviser, securities fraud, misappropriation, misleading statements, or other possible securities-law violations may also be submitted to the SEC or an appropriate state securities regulator.

Regulatory complaints and arbitration are different processes. FINRA or the SEC may investigate conduct, while recovery of money may require a negotiated resolution, mediation, arbitration, court proceeding, or another remedy. Deadlines may apply.

LPL Privacy Requests

LPL provides privacy notices and an online preferences portal for qualifying privacy requests. Written privacy correspondence may be directed to:

LPL Financial
Attn: Privacy Office
1055 LPL Way
Fort Mill, SC 29715

LPL may need to verify the requester’s identity. Financial-services privacy laws may also permit or require LPL to retain certain transaction, tax, regulatory, fraud-prevention, and account records.

Never send passwords, one-time codes, complete Social Security numbers, or full account credentials in an unverified email.

LPL Financial Careers and Recruitment Scams

LPL lists corporate opportunities in San Diego, Fort Mill, Austin, Tempe, Boston, New York, and remote locations through its official careers site.

The company warns applicants about fraudulent employment offers. Legitimate positions are listed through LPL’s careers website, and LPL does not require applicants to pay for interviews, equipment, training, gift cards, or employment processing.

The Investor Support and advisor-support numbers should not be described as direct Human Resources, payroll, benefits, or employment-verification lines.

LPL Financial Reviews and Complaints

One customer review was visible on CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com when this page was updated. The reviewer complained that facial-recognition access was no longer available in the LPL mobile application and reported receiving an unsatisfactory technical-support explanation.

This is an individual, unverified customer account. It does not prove a systemwide application problem or establish an overall LPL customer rating.

A useful LPL review should identify the general account type, approximate date, financial professional or support route used, nature of the issue, response time, and whether the concern was resolved.

Do not publish account numbers, statements, transaction confirmations, Social Security numbers, tax documents, beneficiary information, passwords, private advisor correspondence, or other confidential financial information.

LPL Financial Disappointing App Issue

February 6, 2025

LPL Financial, No facial ID on LPL App.. I previously had the option to use facial recognition to access my account. Suddenly, that option is no longer available on the LPL App. The option to do so was clearly available on the App’s login screen on the left hand side/middle of page. That spot is now empty. I’ve spoken to the tech support rep. at LPL and they said nothing changed.
