Coles Head Office: Corporate Contacts and Complaints

🗨  Comments

Coles Group’s head office handles corporate, investor, supplier and other company-level enquiries. Routine supermarket complaints, online-order problems, returns, Flybuys questions, liquor purchases and financial-services matters should normally be directed to the Coles business or service provider responsible for the transaction.

Coles Group’s official head-office switchboard is +61 3 9829 5111. Coles does not publish specific operating hours for this corporate number, so callers should avoid relying on hours listed by unofficial directories.

Coles Head Office Contact Information

  • Company: Coles Group Limited
  • Head-office phone: +61 3 9829 5111
  • Street address: 800 Toorak Road, Hawthorn East, VIC 3123, Australia

  • Corporate website: ColesGroup.com.au

The Hawthorn East address is a corporate office. It is not a supermarket customer-service counter, online-order collection point, product-return location or destination for perishable goods.

Coles Customer Care Contacts

Coles provides online forms for supermarket and online-shopping enquiries. Its Help Centre is available at any time, while live assistance and response times can vary.

Best Coles Contact by Issue

  • Corporate or business enquiry: Contact Coles Group head office.
  • In-store complaint: Speak with the store manager or contact Coles Supermarkets Customer Care.
  • Online order: Contact Coles Online Customer Care.
  • Missing, damaged or substituted online item: Use the online-shopping enquiry form or Coles Online Customer Care.
  • Product quality or food-safety concern: Preserve the product and packaging and contact Coles Customer Care promptly.
  • Return or refund: Visit a Coles store or contact the appropriate Customer Care team.
  • Product recall: Follow the instructions on the official recall notice.

  • Flybuys account: Contact Flybuys rather than the Coles corporate switchboard.
  • Insurance, credit card or personal loan: Contact the financial-services provider responsible for the product.
  • Shareholding or dividend: Contact the Coles Group Share Registry.
  • Supplier or procurement matter: Use the official Coles Group supplier resources.
  • Job application: Use the Coles Careers website.
  • Abandoned trolley: Call the dedicated trolley-reporting service.

How to Submit a Coles Complaint

  1. Identify the store, website or Coles Group business involved.
  2. Collect the receipt, order number, product packaging and relevant photographs.
  3. Contact the store manager when the matter can be addressed locally.
  4. Use the official customer enquiry form or the appropriate Customer Care number.
  5. Describe the issue factually and in chronological order.
  6. Explain what resolution you are requesting.
  7. Ask for a complaint or case reference number.
  8. Save copies of forms, emails, receipts and responses.
  9. Follow up using the same case reference.
  10. Escalate to Coles Group only when the operating business has had a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Sending a complaint to the corporate address may be slower than using the dedicated Customer Care channel. Urgent food-safety, recall, delivery or account-security issues should not be handled solely by post.

Information to Include in a Coles Complaint

  • Store name and suburb
  • Date and approximate time
  • Receipt or transaction information
  • Online order number, when relevant
  • Product name, package size and barcode
  • Use-by or best-before date
  • Batch or lot code
  • A description of the problem
  • Steps already taken with the store or Customer Care
  • Case or reference number
  • Photographs when appropriate
  • The specific resolution requested

Send receipts, order numbers, loyalty information and photographs through private official channels. Do not include them in a public review.

Coles In-Store Complaints

Store management is usually the first contact for concerns involving:

  • Staff service
  • Checkout availability
  • Self-checkout equipment
  • Incorrect shelf or register pricing
  • Store cleanliness
  • Product availability
  • Queues
  • Accessibility within the store
  • Parking or trolley issues controlled by the store

Record the store location, date and approximate time. Avoid publicly identifying individual employees unless there is a compelling safety or legal reason and the information is submitted privately to Coles.

Coles Online Shopping Complaints

Contact Coles Online Customer Care at 1800 455 400 for issues involving:

  • Missing products
  • Damaged products
  • Substitutions
  • Delivery delays
  • Click & Collect
  • Account access
  • Website or app errors
  • Incorrect online charges
  • Online refunds or account credits

Keep the order confirmation, delivery notice, tax invoice and photographs of damaged products. Report perishable-food and temperature-control concerns promptly.

Coles Returns and Refunds

Coles states that qualifying products bought from Coles Supermarkets, Coles Local or Coles Online can be returned to a Coles store. The return does not generally have to be made at the original store.

Proof of purchase may include:

  • Original paper receipt
  • Digital receipt
  • Coles Online tax invoice
  • Online order confirmation or receipt number
  • EFTPOS or credit-card statement

Eligible change-of-mind returns for non-Coles-brand products generally require the product to be unopened, unused and returned within 30 days. Exclusions apply.

Coles’ voluntary return policy is in addition to rights customers may have under Australian Consumer Law. A company policy cannot remove applicable statutory consumer guarantees.

Coles Brand Product Guarantee

Some Coles Brand products display a satisfaction guarantee. Follow the wording on the product and current returns policy.

Depending on the product and circumstances, Coles may ask for:

  • The product
  • Empty packaging
  • A receipt or other proof of purchase
  • Details about the quality concern

Retain packaging and date codes until Customer Care confirms whether they are needed.

Food-Safety and Product-Quality Concerns

Stop consuming a product that appears contaminated, incorrectly labelled, improperly sealed or otherwise unsafe.

  1. Preserve the product and packaging securely.
  2. Record the use-by or best-before date and batch code.
  3. Photograph the product and packaging.
  4. Keep the receipt or transaction record.
  5. Contact Coles Customer Care promptly.
  6. Follow any instructions concerning return, refrigeration or disposal.

Customer Care cannot diagnose illness or allergic reactions. Seek appropriate medical assistance when symptoms occur and emergency assistance for urgent or severe reactions.

Coles Product Recalls

Coles publishes current product-recall notices on its official website. A recall notice may identify:

  • The affected product
  • Package size
  • Date markings
  • Stores or regions affected
  • The reason for the recall
  • Consumer action required
  • Refund or disposal instructions

Follow the specific recall notice. Do not consume an affected product or mail it to corporate headquarters.

Coles Liquor Contacts

Liquor purchases, deliveries, age-verification matters and liquor-store complaints should be directed to the relevant liquor business. Coles Supermarkets Customer Care may not have access to those systems.

Coles Financial Services Contacts

Coles-branded financial products may be issued, insured, administered or serviced by separate financial institutions. Contact the provider identified in the policy, account statement or product disclosure documents for claims, hardship, disputes and account servicing.

Do not send banking details, identity documents or insurance medical records to the Coles corporate switchboard or place them in a public review.

Flybuys Support

Flybuys is operated separately from the Coles supermarket customer-service system. Contact Flybuys for account access, points, linked offers, membership information and reward redemptions.

Coles Group Shareholder Contacts

  • Share Registry within Australia: 1300 171 785
  • International shareholder line: +61 3 9415 4078
  • Postal address: Coles Group Share Registry, GPO Box 2975, Melbourne, VIC 3001, Australia
  • Investor information: Coles Group investors

Computershare manages the Coles Group share register. Shareholders should use the registry for holdings, dividends, address updates, banking instructions and shareholder statements.

Never place a Securityholder Reference Number, Holder Identification Number, tax file number or banking information in a public review.

Coles Supplier and Procurement Enquiries

Coles Group provides dedicated supplier resources for existing and prospective suppliers. Goods-not-for-resale sourcing and contracting may be conducted through the SAP Ariba Network.

Do not send unsolicited invoices, banking changes or procurement credentials to contact details found in an unverified email. Confirm supplier requests through official systems.

Coles Careers and Employment Enquiries

Job applications and recruitment questions should be handled through the official Coles Careers website rather than the head-office switchboard.

Be cautious of recruitment scams. Legitimate recruiters should not require gift-card payments, cryptocurrency, access to personal banking or payment for ordinary job applications.

Abandoned Coles Trolleys

Provide the street, suburb, nearby landmark and safe location of the trolley. Do not place yourself at risk retrieving a trolley from traffic, railway property or other hazardous locations.

Coles Corporate Structure and Leadership

  • Company: Coles Group Limited
  • Chairman: Peter Allen
  • Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer: Leah Weckert
  • Principal businesses: Coles Supermarkets, Coles Online and Coles Liquor
  • Other interests and services: Flybuys participation and Coles Financial Services

Leadership roles and corporate structure can change. Verify current directors, executives and company announcements on the official Coles Group website before relying on them for legal, investment or business decisions.

When to Contact Coles Head Office

The corporate office may be appropriate for:

  • Company-level business enquiries
  • Corporate governance correspondence
  • Formal correspondence after customer-service escalation
  • Major supplier or stakeholder matters
  • Written investor or corporate communications
  • Matters involving several Coles Group businesses

The corporate office is generally not the fastest route for:

  • An immediate supermarket refund
  • A missing online grocery delivery
  • A damaged item
  • A Flybuys points issue
  • An insurance claim
  • A credit-card account problem
  • A local store’s opening hours
  • A liquor order

How to Escalate an Unresolved Coles Complaint

  1. Start with the store or business responsible for the transaction.
  2. Contact the appropriate Customer Care team.
  3. Request a case number.
  4. Provide supporting documents privately.
  5. State the desired outcome clearly.
  6. Allow a reasonable response period.
  7. Follow up using the same case number.
  8. Send a concise written escalation if the matter remains unresolved.
  9. Consider the relevant consumer, privacy, financial or regulatory body when appropriate.

The appropriate external escalation body depends on the issue. A supermarket purchase, privacy concern, financial product, insurance claim, workplace matter and food-safety report may each have a different regulator or dispute-resolution service.

Coles Scam and Impersonation Warnings

  • Use official Coles and Coles Group websites.

  • Coles says it will not unexpectedly request personal or banking details.

  • Do not click suspicious competition, survey or reward links.
  • Do not allow an unknown caller to control your computer or phone remotely.
  • Do not provide a password or verification code to an unexpected caller.
  • Verify social-media accounts before responding.
  • Report suspected scams to Coles and the appropriate Australian scam-reporting service.

Coles Warragul Disappointing Self Checkout

April 16, 2025

Coles store in Warragul has recently been refurbished. As a part of this, the number of cash registers has been reduced and the self – checkout area has been increased. I do not use self – checkout, I refuse to use self-checkout and I oppose the self-checkout concept of making the customer do more so Coles can increase their profits. I shall not be shopping at Coles stores any more.
