Eastern Dental, My husband became a patient of their office in Jan. 2025 because his employer offered them the DSO plan which is an HMO. My husband has many, many dental issues and it took a couple months for him to actually get an appointment to be seen. After several different appointments, the front desk was supposed to work up the treatment plan for his upper and lower treatment. This was back in March/early April. He advised the office that he wants treatment to be started as soon as possible as he was having pain and difficulty eating. I spoke to several different individuals since then who all had different excuses as to why my husband was not contacted yet. The latest contact was made in person a week ago and the front desk told him that they were short handed and that corporate was sending someone down this week to help her with her piles of work (my husband said there was a few big stacks on her desk). One week later, still no phone call or contact back. My husband should not be pushed off due to the incompetency of your staffing. He is in dire need of treatment and needs to get this treatment started ASAP…he has been waiting since January and no work has yet been started which is unacceptable. The Better Business Bureau will be notified.

Eastern Dental, The company is involved in questionable billing practices ,which lead to overbilling. They use open claims as a reason not to make immediate refunds. I was also overcharged, and the office claimed I would not receive a refund because there was an open claim with the insurer. The billing office also stated the insurer had sent me the claim payment. I inquired with the insurer, who informed me that they sent an EBT payment to the dentist. The company is involved in some very questionable and purposeful billing practices. They are soliciting funds at the time of payment that they’re not entitled to a form of theft. They are not reconciling claims appropriately if there is no pushback from the consumer. Their continued conduct should elicit a class action at some point.

Eastern Dental Office staffing at the Woodbury Heights office is not patient friendly. I’ve been there twice in as many weeks. I still have not received the proper care needed to repair my problem. HR is scheduling my appointment for an oral surgeon. When after 2 days I asked to speak to someone in HR, I was told I could not have a phone # or email address for that department. Praying my tooth does not abscess before HR gets me scheduled for the extraction. Not one person at the front desk said hello to any patient coming into the building. You are called up from the sign-in sheet and they discuss your personal business in the open. I was very uncomfortable while Colette the Office Manager discussed a patient’s finances for everyone to hear. This office is not very professional in the handling of patients.

The staff overcharged me and they’re never in accurate time. You have to wait 45 minutes for any procedure even for a cleaning to get done and when you call them to schedule a cleaning it’s always the next month is available. I was in pain for three weeks and no one even followed up with me. They charge me $301 and told me they’re gonna issue a check it take 4 to 6 weeks.

I have tried several times to resolve my issue with being overcharged during my visit. It has taken me 2 months and still no resolution. I’ve been waiting on the phone for over an hour and hung up on while on hold. My next course of action is just to take them to court. I’ll never go back after the service I have not received.
