Farm Bureau Financial Services Corporate Office

🗨  Comments

Farm Bureau Financial Services is headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa. It provides auto, home, property, farm, ranch, business, life, annuity, and financial products through affiliated insurance companies, agents, and advisors.

Customers should confirm which Farm Bureau company issued their policy before using the contact information below. “Farm Bureau Insurance” is not one national insurance company. Many state and regional Farm Bureau organizations operate independently and use different customer-service, claims, billing, and corporate-office contacts.

How to Contact Farm Bureau Financial Services Corporate Office

Farm Bureau Financial Services
5400 University Avenue
West Des Moines, IA 50266-5997
USA

The corporate office number is not the best starting point for a routine policy, payment, claim, or coverage question. Customers should first use the number shown on their current insurance card, billing statement, policy, claim notice, or online account.

Farm Bureau Financial Services Customer-Service Hours

Farm Bureau Financial Services currently lists the following general support hours:

  • Property and casualty customer service: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central Time

  • Auto, home, and property claim reporting: Available 24 hours a day

Specialized departments may have different hours. Holiday schedules can also vary.

Which Farm Bureau Insurance Company Do You Have?

Farm Bureau Financial Services is only one of several insurance organizations using the Farm Bureau name.

Your policy may instead have been issued by an independently operated company associated with a state Farm Bureau organization, such as:

  • Texas Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Tennessee Farmers Insurance Companies
  • Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance
  • North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Florida Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company
  • Another state or regional Farm Bureau-affiliated insurer

Do not assume that the West Des Moines office can access a policy issued by another Farm Bureau organization.

How to Identify the Correct Company

Check the following documents:

  • Insurance identification card
  • Policy declarations page
  • Billing statement
  • Claim correspondence
  • Agent business card
  • Cancellation or renewal notice
  • Online-account website

Look for the legal name of the insurer rather than only the words “Farm Bureau.” The legal company name determines which office, regulator, and complaint process apply.

When You Cannot Reach the Claim Representative

Customers with an existing storm-related claim who cannot reach their assigned representative may call 1-800-357-5732.

Keep the claim number, representative’s name, dates of attempted contact, voicemail records, and any repair or temporary-lodging deadlines available.

Farm Bureau Financial Services Claim Complaints

Claim disagreements may involve:

  • Delays in receiving an inspection
  • Difficulty reaching the assigned representative
  • Repair estimates that differ from contractor or body-shop estimates
  • A vehicle being declared a total loss
  • Depreciation deductions
  • Coverage limitations or exclusions
  • Questions about temporary housing or rental vehicles
  • Additional damage discovered during repairs
  • A denied claim
  • Delayed or disputed claim payments

When challenging a claim decision:

  1. Request a written explanation of the decision.
  2. Ask which policy language and estimate details were used.
  3. Provide photographs, contractor estimates, repair-shop records, inventories, receipts, or other supporting documentation.
  4. Ask the assigned representative to review any differences.
  5. Request a supervisor when the representative cannot resolve the disagreement.
  6. Keep a written timeline and copies of all documents.
  7. Contact the applicable state insurance regulator if the internal process does not resolve the issue.

Do not complete permanent repairs before the company has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the damage unless immediate work is necessary to prevent additional loss or protect safety. Photograph the condition before performing emergency work and keep receipts.

How to Contact a Farm Bureau Agent

Many policy questions are handled through the customer’s local Farm Bureau Financial Services agent.

Use the official agent locator to find an agent or financial advisor.

Agents may assist with:

  • Insurance quotes
  • Coverage reviews
  • Policy changes
  • Adding or removing vehicles or drivers
  • Home, farm, or business updates
  • Questions about discounts
  • Claims reporting
  • Beneficiary changes
  • Renewal questions
  • Membership-related questions

A local agent may not have authority to decide a claim, reverse a corporate billing decision, or change an underwriting determination. Ask which company department is responsible when the agent cannot complete the requested action.

How to Escalate a Farm Bureau Financial Services Complaint

  1. Confirm the issuing company. Make sure the policy was issued or serviced by Farm Bureau Financial Services or one of its affiliates.
  2. Contact the correct department. Use property and casualty service, life and annuity service, claims, billing, or investment support.
  3. Contact the local agent. Ask whether the agent can correct the problem or submit an internal request.
  4. Request a case number. Record the representative’s name, department, date, time, and response.
  5. Ask for a supervisor. Explain the steps already taken and the exact resolution requested.
  6. Submit a written customer-service request. Use the official online form and retain the confirmation.
  7. Contact the corporate office. For a significant unresolved matter, call 1-515-225-5400 or write to the West Des Moines headquarters.
  8. Contact the applicable regulator. Insurance complaints should generally be submitted to the insurance department in the state where the policy was issued.

Consumers can locate their regulator through the NAIC State Insurance Department Directory.

What to Include in a Written Complaint

  • Policy or claim number
  • Legal name of the issuing insurance company

  • A brief chronological timeline
  • Names and departments previously contacted
  • Copies of bills, notices, estimates, photographs, and correspondence
  • The policy language or coverage involved

Do not publish complete policy numbers, claim numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s-license information, financial-account details, medical information, home addresses, or other private information in a public review.

Farm Bureau Financial Services Reviews and Complaints

CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com currently has too little clearly attributable feedback to identify reliable company-wide complaint trends for Farm Bureau Financial Services.

The existing review complains about a lack of oversight involving an independent insurance agency and office associates in Colorado. The reviewer questioned whether the employees providing assistance were appropriately licensed.

However, the review does not clearly identify the legal insurance company or confirm that the policy was issued by Farm Bureau Financial Services. Colorado customers may interact with a different Farm Bureau-affiliated organization. The review also refers to “Farmers,” which may indicate confusion between Farm Bureau Insurance and Farmers Insurance.

For that reason, this single review should not be treated as evidence of a widespread Farm Bureau Financial Services problem.

Customers are encouraged to identify the exact issuing company when submitting feedback about:

  • Agent service
  • Employee licensing or authority
  • Policy changes
  • Premium increases
  • Billing and automatic payments
  • Auto or property claims
  • Farm and ranch coverage
  • Claim-adjuster communication
  • Life insurance or annuity service
  • Complaint escalation
  • Whether the issue was resolved

Farm Bureau Insurance Customer Service Issue

February 23, 2025

Farm Bureau Insursnce, Terrible customer service. The agency I’m dealing with is a joke like so many independent insurance agencies. With no oversight by the corporate office. You deal with the licensed insurance agent its always an associate. Which I’m not sure by Colorado law that the associates have to be licensed or not. If not shame Colorado. I hate dealing with associates, whose only job should be handling paper work in the office not directly dealing with customers. Would not recommend Farmers as an insurance company simply due to the lack of oversight of its independent agents.
