Guitar Center Disappointing Experience

April 13, 2025

Guitar Center, I went to the store in Ocean don’t waste your time with a guy named Andre he handpicks who he wants to help. I tried to trade in my Bass pedal and he told me they weren’t taking any pedals at the time only vintage pedals. I called the East Brunswick store to ask if they ever heard of such a thing and they laughed and said no. I’ve done a lot of business with this store and I don’t plan on going back thanks to that him. I hope this gets to the proper channels. He also tried to tell me there was a sign up, but somebody must’ve taken it down. I’ve heard that from him another other occasions as well I am very disappointed.

Guitar Center Daytona Beach FL Customer Service Issue

March 18, 2025

Guitar Center, Ignoring customers is not going to help your sales numbers. I saw an interview with you on YouTube. You want to refocus Guitar Center back to the customer. That is a sound approach. I had a little bit of time today so I visited your Daytona Beach store. I was looking at basses, trying to find my first bass. I wanted to choose one based on how it felt in my hands. I was at the basses, picking up one, trying the neck, feeling the weight. I was doing this for over thirty minutes. There was a guy playing basses off of an amp the entire time I was looking at your basses. He was within 10 feet of me the entire time. It turns out the guy worked there. He only stopped playing when someone else sent him to the back for a delivery. Sadly, he couldn’t interrupt his playing to see if he could help me. His playing indicated he knew how to play the bass fairly well, so maybe he could have answered some questions or, offer his insights on what to look for in a beginner bass. You know, customer sales kind of assistance.

Guitar Center Disappointing Online Order Issue

March 14, 2025

Guitar Center, Shipping Opened / Damaged ETX Electro Voice PA Speakers As New. Buyer Beware!!!!Ordered two ETX 18SP Electro Voice Subwoofers. Both arrived with damage and missing parts. Casters were dirty, hair on the speaker, scuffs on the speaker, etc. I didn’t order “opened items” and I don’t want “opened items”!! Ordered two ETX 35P Electro Voice 3 Way Speakers and both arrived with damaged corners. Now I have to waste my time loading into the car and returning it to the local store. Completely unacceptable!!! Complete failure on Guitar Centers part. This is $8,000 dollars in speakers that I received in poor condition. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Guitar Center Disappointing Ordering Experience

March 5, 2025

Guitar Center, Communication. I want to give you some feedback on a recent experience I had at the Guitar Center Website. First let me preference this with I am happy with my purchase and my experience with your staff was pleasant however your relationship with Progressive Leasing and your website interaction is a bit clunky and your staff doesn’t understand the relationship. I give you this feedback only for the pure intention of giving you an opportunity to fix potential problems. this is how it went. I went onto your website on 3/3 to look to purchase a drum set. I ended up putting 4 things in my cart including the drum set. I saw the option of leasing through a company called Progressive which is a creative way to get more sales. However, this is when the communication gaps began to pile up. I completed the process of getting approved through Progressive and specifically on your website it directed me to call a phone number to complete my order. The person that answered was very helpful however she had no knowledge of what I put in my cart. Problem 1. So, I had to read all the item numbers to her so she could create the cart on your side and complete the order. When this was completed, she committed to find out when and where my items would be available and said within a few hours she would email me back. She never did. Problem 2… two days passed, and I decided to call the same number to find out when I would be able to receive my new drum set. I called probably 4 times after what should have been your hours of operation and never got to a human and finally left a message. Problem 3… I decided again to call back and finally reached a person. They proceeded to find my order but could not give me any more than my order number. So, I still didn’t have what I was looking for. I advised that I was expecting some type of email that provide me with an order confirmation and a date of readiness. He committed to have the first person send that to me or reach back out to me. That still has not happened. problem # 4… With my order number in hand, I reached out to the local store and asked if they in fact knew where my stuff was. The manager proceeded to tell me that dealing with the online ordering and Progressive was a complete mess and to call the store direct next time and they could get the process done smoother. Problem # 5…. Finally, someone called me back from the call center this afternoon. They proceeded to tell me that when I submit financing through progressive then Guitar Center no longer sends out any order information. In fact, the email and phone number in the customer ID is Progressive. He continued to tell me that had I ordered this the normal way I would have had all this information in an email. still unable to provide me with an order confirmation or delivery date. Things escalated slightly because I told him that I went to the Guitar Center website, obtained financing that was provided by Guitar Center, purchased items from Guitar Center and placed my final order with a Guitar Center rep so confirmation and follow up should have come from Guitar Center… Do you see why I am slightly irritated? I spent $700.00, Why can I not get a receipt of purchase? What if there are problems with the items I purchased once I take delivery? Why because I went through progressive did my relationship with Guitar Center become an arm’s length relationship? Anyway. Do with this information what you want but I think some training may need to be in order or remove the progressive option from your website so you can maintain a positive customer experience.

Guitar Center Sherman Oaks CA Disappointing

February 6, 2025

Guitar Center, Terrible customer service. I have been trying to get info. on the status of getting my instrument back or reimbursement and Guitar Center just doesn’t seem to care. One time I reached out, I got some lady named Holly from another state, and she seemed helpful at first, so I told her I would leave a nice comment about her to her boss, and I did, after that no more communication, she stop returning my calls. so I reached out again to someone else from Guitar Center H.Q. and the lady I spoke to said that she would pass the info. to the manager of the Sherman Oaks Guitar Center. This whole thing started on 11/05/2024, on January 25th, the Manager Jesse Cohen left a voicemail on my cell,I believe I was out of the state at that time in Rio Brazil. Well, I called that number and left a message for Mr Cohen and got no response. the first call was at 1:55pm today 2/6/25 & the second call was at 4:38pm today and I probably won’t here back today so I will try again tomorrow. I will post something online reaching out to other people to see just how many people are going through this with Sherman Oaks Guitar Center. I realize after a flood like that things can get a bit hectic but good customer service when you can can’t do much for the customer is as simple as just communicating with the customer providing updates.
