Food Lion, Never Again! I placed a to go order on 2/14/2025 at the 1215 W Lebanon St, Mount Airy, NC 27030 location. Do not ask me what the store number is, because they never gave me a receipt for my groceries, as they haven’t the last 3 online orders! But anyways, my daughter went to get the groceries, she got there to pick them up in the window time frame a little after 2. (Range was from 2-3.) The guy that loaded the groceries loaded them in the trunk, and when he was done, he slammed the trunk, I was on the phone with her and I immediately asked her what that loud noise was, she said it was the Food Lion guy slammed my trunk. So she gets home and she goes to open the trunk and it would not open! We tried for 45 minutes to get it open while I am on the phone trying to get ahold of someone there at the store while working on the trunk, stayed on hold for over 10 mins waiting for a manager on duty named Chris to answer me. He finally did and he acted like he didn’t care one bit, said he would have to view the camera to see if associate slammed the trunk, I can tell you now that camera isn’t going to show you the speed or Force that he slammed it!! Chris also said he only put a couple bags in there, I Said Wrong, He Put 10 bags in there that were full!! My grocery order was over $200 bucks and most of the order was dairy, meat and frozen section stuff-(2different kinds of milk, butter, canned biscuits, eggs, pack of beef tips that costed $16 + bucks, package of Smithfield bacon, 2 boxes of cheese sticks, 2 large pizza’s, 2 smaller pizza’s, several cups of yogurt, butter, 2 packs of broccoli florets, several packages of danimal drinkable yogurt, and more, well over a $100 bucks of stuff! ) He said Well if you bring the car back up here, he would try to get it opened, and if he would give us a gift card, never said what type or anything. So, my daughter takes the food back up the road, back to the Food Lion, which is another 35-40 mins away from our house, she gets there he messes with it, and finally gets it opened. He said oh the food is fine, but the food by time she would get back home had been out over 3 hours!! He said Well it’s still cold and it should be fine. My question is why he didn’t take it and eat it himself and give me back what was Now Spoiled!! The food safety commission would never tell anyone to eat anything that has been left out this long, over 3 hours with going back and forth and spending time trying to get the trunk opened…The pizzas were unthawed., the bacon and beef tips both were warm, broccoli was unthawed, was no longer frozen, cheese sticks were unthawed and not frozen, butter was squishy, yogurts all of them were warm cause we opened one and it was well at room temp. All perishable stuff was spoiled. He gave her one bag of ice to go on top of one bag, didn’t even care to cover the other, but was no use when it all was Spoiled!! And he did move the groceries to the back sheet now to so call help her out, well heck he should!! He gave her a $25 dollar shell gas card, I mean where the heck is even a Shell gas station at anymore! And how did this help my over $100 bucks of perishable stuff that was now Ruined and my daughter’s trunk that now would not close at all!! He refused to do anything else! He Did Not Care One Bit!! So now we are out of all this money from the spoiled groceries being left out for over 3 hours and plus my daughter’s trunk they tore up!! We had to bungy strap her trunk down to even get it home without it flying open!! Photos show the trunk bungy strapped!
