Common Big Y Complaints and Support Requests

Advertised Prices and Digital Coupons

Pricing complaints may involve advertised specials, digital coupons, myBigY offers, loyalty-account problems or discounts that do not appear at checkout. Take a screenshot of the offer before it expires and keep the receipt showing the final price. Ask the store’s customer service desk to review the transaction before leaving whenever possible.

Refunds and Checkout Errors

Customers may seek help with incorrect prices, duplicate charges, missing discounts or promised refunds. Keep the original receipt and note the register, date and approximate transaction time. Start with the store where the transaction occurred.

Product Quality and Discontinued Products

Some customer feedback concerns spoiled or poor-quality food, bakery items, prepared meals, packaging quality, or products that have been discontinued. For a quality complaint, keep the receipt, packaging, UPC, lot code and expiration date. If requesting the return of a discontinued product, include the product’s complete name and the store where it was previously purchased.

Store Cleanliness and Maintenance

Store complaints may involve floors, shopping carts, restrooms, café areas, displays, parking lots or other maintenance concerns. Notify the store manager promptly and provide the location, date, time and photographs when appropriate.

Product Locations and Store Layout

Customers sometimes complain when frequently purchased products are moved or difficult to locate. Ask a store employee for assistance and provide specific feedback to the store manager if repeated layout changes create accessibility or shopping difficulties.

Pickup and Online Order Problems

Pickup complaints may involve substitutions, unavailable items, missing products, damaged groceries, delays or refund problems. Keep the order number, confirmation, receipt and photographs of damaged or incorrect items.

Employee or Manager Complaints

If a complaint involves an employee or manager, document the store, department, date, time and a factual description of the interaction. Avoid posting employees’ private information publicly. Provide identifying details directly to Big Y so it can investigate internally.

Food-safety warning: Do not consume food that appears spoiled, contaminated, improperly labeled or unsafe. Preserve the packaging and receipt, notify the store manager promptly, and contact a healthcare professional or local health department when appropriate. Seek urgent medical assistance for severe symptoms or a serious allergic reaction.

Big Y Request Bring Back Strauss beef

May 18, 2025

Big Y, I’m disappointed to see that you’ve discontinued Strauss Beef. It was a high-quality, healthy option—grass-fed and grass-finished—which many of us appreciated. I’ve also noticed the removal of other nutritious items like Truly Grass Fed Cheese and D’Angelo Pasta Sauce, only to see them replaced with what seem like lower-quality alternatives. I was even told Strauss Beef was popular, so I’m confused—why remove a product that customers clearly valued? Why was Strauss Beef discontinued, especially if it was a popular, health-conscious option? Is there a chance it will return?

Big Y Disappointing Thanksgiving Meal Issues

November 29, 2024

Big Y, Not happy or pleased with the Thanksgiving Feast 2024 on 11/28/2024. My husband & I were at the Ludlow market on Wednesday 11/27/2024 to pick up our order for the dinner for 4. Also used the App to receive $10.00 off original price. On Thanksgiving Day, along with the instruction sheet I prepared the dinner. The gravy looked like left over gray oatmeal, was lumpy & tasteless. Used a wisk to get it smooth; didn’t work. The stuffing was dry & had pieces of ham? in it. Used some chicken stock with it. My biggest disappointment was the sliced turkey which I realized was actually from a turkey roll & not fresh sliced. no textiure or grain. It broke up easily & each slice was identical. The taste was bland. Potatoes & carrots so, so. I know Big Y is a good store; never had an issue with them. However, for the amount of $69.00 I was expecting better presentation of taste and was not happy. Please in the future let your customers know that the turkey is processed from a pressed roll & not genuine slices. This does make a difference. Wasted my money this year and will dine out next year. Thank you for your concerns,Feedback welcome.
