Choose the Correct Market Basket Contact

Market Basket’s official contact page encourages customers to speak with the local store before contacting the corporate office. Store managers can usually address current store conditions, item availability, pricing, employee service, and department-specific concerns more quickly.

  • Store-service complaint: Speak with the customer-service desk, department manager, assistant manager, or store manager.
  • Pricing or overcharge: Bring the receipt, shelf label, weekly flyer, and product information to the store’s customer-service desk.
  • Product-quality concern: Keep the item, packaging, UPC, lot code, date information, receipt, and photographs when appropriate.
  • Food-safety concern: Notify the store manager promptly and preserve the product and packaging when it is safe to do so.
  • Missing or unavailable item: Ask the department manager whether the item is temporarily unavailable, discontinued, seasonal, or offered at another location.
  • Store cleanliness or aisle hazard: Notify the manager immediately when boxes, spills, equipment, or another obstruction may cause an injury.
  • Employee-conduct complaint: Record the store, department, date, time, and employee role without publishing personal accusations or identifying information online.
  • Job application: Apply through Market Basket Jobs or submit a printed application to the location where you want to work.
  • Current employee or HR matter: Use the internal manager or Human Resources route provided by Market Basket. Private employment information should not be submitted as a public review.
  • Unresolved complaint: Call Market Basket’s corporate office or submit the official contact form and select the store involved.

What to Have Before Contacting Market Basket

Gathering the right information can help the local store or Market Basket Customer Care investigate the complaint.

  • Market Basket store address, city, state, and store number
  • Date and approximate time of the visit or transaction
  • Receipt and payment method, without exposing the complete card number
  • Product name, brand, size, UPC, lot code, and expiration or best-by date
  • Photographs of the product, shelf label, receipt, aisle condition, or relevant sign
  • Department involved, such as produce, bakery, meat, seafood, deli, grocery, or Market’s Kitchen
  • Name or role of the manager or representative already contacted
  • A short timeline and the specific resolution being requested
Privacy reminder: Do not post complete payment-card numbers, bank information, home addresses, medical details, employee records, private personnel information, or other sensitive information in a public Market Basket review.

How to Escalate a Market Basket Complaint

  1. Contact the local store. Begin with the department manager, customer-service desk, or store manager. Market Basket’s store pages provide direct telephone numbers and identify store management.
  2. Document the response. Record when you contacted the store, who responded, what was discussed, and any resolution that was offered.
  3. Contact Market Basket Customer Care. Call 1-978-851-8000 during corporate Customer Care hours or use the official online form. Select the relevant store and explain what happened.
  4. Request follow-up by email or telephone. The contact form allows customers to indicate their preferred response method. Keep a copy or screenshot of the submitted complaint.
  5. Escalate in writing. For a serious or repeatedly unresolved issue, send a concise written complaint to Demoulas Super Markets, Inc., ATTN: Customer Care, 875 East Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.

Market Basket Pricing and Overcharge Complaints

Pricing complaints may involve a shelf label, weekly flyer, sale sign, store-brand item, scanned price, quantity requirement, or final receipt total.

Before approaching the customer-service desk, confirm that the product size, variety, sale dates, and qualifying quantity match the advertised offer. Keep the original receipt and photograph the shelf label or sign when possible.

If the store cannot resolve the discrepancy, use Market Basket’s contact form and provide:

  • The store location and transaction date
  • The product name, size, and UPC
  • The advertised or displayed price
  • The amount charged on the receipt
  • A photograph or screenshot of the applicable offer
  • The response provided by store management

General concerns about rising grocery prices can also be submitted as feedback, although a corporate response or specific price change is not guaranteed.

Market Basket Product Quality and Store-Brand Complaints

Product-quality complaints may involve a change in taste, strength, texture, freshness, packaging, quantity, or performance. Market Basket’s visible reader reviews include a concern about the perceived strength of a Market Basket-brand tea product.

For a product complaint, retain the packaging and provide:

  • Complete product name and size
  • UPC or barcode
  • Lot, batch, production, or date code
  • Best-by, sell-by, or expiration date
  • Store and purchase date
  • Receipt and photographs
  • A clear description of the difference or defect noticed

This information may help Market Basket determine whether the concern involves one package, one production lot, or a broader product issue.

Food Safety, Animals, and Product-Handling Concerns

A visible Market Basket review raises a concern about an animal being brought near a store area associated with food handling. Individual reviews are customer allegations and do not establish what occurred or whether a policy was violated.

For a food-handling, contamination, animal-access, spoiled-food, allergen, or sanitation concern:

  • Notify the store manager while the issue can still be inspected
  • Identify the department and exact location
  • Record the date and approximate time
  • Provide photographs only when they can be taken safely and appropriately
  • Avoid confronting another customer or making assumptions about a disability or service animal
  • Contact Customer Care if the store does not address the concern

For an urgent suspected foodborne illness, allergen exposure, injury, or other health concern, seek appropriate professional assistance rather than relying only on a corporate complaint or public review.

Store Stocking, Aisle Obstructions, and Safety Complaints

Reader feedback also describes difficulty navigating aisles while shelves were being stocked. Boxes, carts, pallets, spills, or equipment can create concerns for older shoppers, customers with disabilities, and others moving through the store.

Report an immediate obstruction or trip hazard to a store employee or manager so it can be addressed. Include the aisle, department, time, and a description of the condition. If an injury occurred, notify management before leaving when possible and request documentation of the report.

Item Availability and Department Complaints

Market Basket product availability can vary by location, department, delivery schedule, time of day, and customer demand. A reader review describes repeated difficulty obtaining a particular prepared-food item.

When an item is consistently unavailable:

  • Ask the department manager when the product is normally prepared or restocked
  • Confirm whether the item is discontinued, seasonal, or temporarily unavailable
  • Ask whether another nearby Market Basket carries it
  • Use the contact form to submit a product request or recurring availability concern

Market Basket Human Resources and HR Department

People frequently search for a Market Basket Human Resources phone number, Market Basket HR number, or Market Basket HR department. Market Basket does not publish a dedicated general HR telephone number on the official corporate contact or employment pages reviewed for this update.

Job applicants should use the official Market Basket Jobs website. The site provides an online application and a printable application that can be delivered to the desired store. Applicants can also speak with a hiring manager at that location.

Current employees should use the manager, payroll, or Human Resources contact provided internally by Market Basket. The main office number is 1-978-851-8000, but it should not be described as a dedicated HR line.

Does Market Basket Have a Customer-Service Email Address?

Market Basket does not prominently publish a general Customer Care email address. Customers can send an electronic message through the official contact form and request that Market Basket respond by email or telephone.

The form asks for the customer’s contact information, message type, applicable store, and a description of the issue. Save a copy or screenshot of the submission.

Market Basket Product Recalls

Market Basket maintains an official recall page covering food, over-the-counter health products, household goods, allergens, packaging problems, contamination concerns, and other withdrawals or recalls.

If a product in your home matches an official recall:

  • Follow the specific instructions published for that product
  • Do not consume or use a product identified as unsafe
  • Check the UPC, size, lot code, and date information carefully
  • Keep the product separated from other household items when appropriate
  • Contact the store or Customer Care with additional questions

Market Basket Brand Black Teabags Disappointing Issue

April 29, 2025

Market Basket, I’ve been loving your Market Basket brand, Black Teabags a lot over the last year and a half, and I love the price at two dollars a box so I usually use two teabags in my big mug of hot tea. But recently After a long steeping period of over 56 minutes the tea seems weaker now I have to use three teabags to get the desired taste… So somehow someway, the tea and the teabag is less volume or potency. Could you look into this for me appreciate it.

Market Basket Disappointed In Pricing

January 16, 2025

Market Basket, have you forgotten the customer loyalty that saved your company during the boycott 10 years ago? Now it feels like you’re turning your back on us with these skyrocketing prices. Even your own store-brand products are no longer affordable. Years ago, $250 filled a shopping cart to the brim; now, it barely fills a few bags. Instead of helping customers by keeping prices reasonable, it seems you’d rather let products go to waste. It’s disheartening to see a company once supported by its community prioritize profits over people. Your customers are noticing these changes. It’s time to remember the values that once set you apart. Please reconsider your pricing strategies—loyalty goes both ways.

Market Basket Cheese Pizza Issue

September 8, 2024

Market Basket, pizza availability. I have tried to pickup a cheeze pizza the last three weeks between 12 and 12:30 PM and have been told they don’t have any. When I asked when there would have more, I was told each time there wouldn’t be any more available that day. This makes no sense, as there are plenty of other types of pizza, and it would seem cheeze would be very popular.

Market Basket Stocking Shelves

January 15, 2024

First off l love Market Basket and have been a loyal customer for 35-plus years.

My store is in Lynn, MA..

In recent months I noticed they have been stocking shelves during daytime hours. and it’s not confined to one or two aisle’s it’s throughout the whole store. Sometimes it’s a challenge to navigate the aisle. On my recent visit, I nearly tripped on cardboard boxes on the floor. This is an accident waiting to happen. Especially for seniors.
