Hyatt Place Schaumburg IL Disappointing Experience

March 31, 2025

Hyatt, Mouse, Safety Issue, and no hot water! To whom this may concern, I was a recent guest at the Hyatt Place in Schaumburg, Illinois. My stay was four nights; March 24 through the 28th. My room number was 525. The first thing (and the least of my concerns) I noticed when I got to my hotel room with the bathroom sink did not drain. It appeared; the stopper was stuck in the down position. I shrugged it off as there was a second sink near the mini bar that I could use just as easily. However, this was a number one. The first morning that I woke up in the hotel, I hopped in the shower to where I was given 5 to 10 minutes of hot water. I was on my way to work and didn’t have time to stop at the front desk. The second morning came and same story with the shower few minutes of hot water, followed by the cold. This time I had to report to work at 6 AM and again did not have time to stop by the front desk. I was traveling with about 10 colleagues and during lunch we discussed that we all experienced the same shower conditions. I’m not wanting to complain, so I let it be. Figured it was better for my hair to take a cold shower anyways. However, upon morning number three, I was left with an ice cold shower from the moment I turned it on to the moment I turned it off. I knew at this point I was going to say something to the front desk after I got off of work. Turns out my colleague beat me to it. Where he was gaslit into being told that the hot water was only an issue one day and it was fixed now so it wasn’t a big deal. My real complaints here is we were never notified or apologized to. Having worked in customer service most of my life I would come to an expect either a phone call or a note on the door, letting us know that it is a known issue and it was getting corrected. However, my colleague was left feeling gaslit. On the third day, which would’ve been Thursday. I arrived at my hotel room to quickly change, and I headed to dinner with my team. To my surprise, I found mouse droppings on my bathroom floor. Yes, mouse droppings. Please see attached pictures. My biggest issue was the way that this was handled. I was apologized to. However, the customer service stopped at that point. I was instructed to pack my room and head to the lobby for a new set of keys. At that point, I was told I could go to my new room. I politely declined as I was traveling with a large suitcase, my work bag, my winter coat, and I had grocery bags full of food. I was not able to bring it all downstairs to bring it all back upstairs by myself. What I proposed was met with great hesitation and attitude. I understood I cannot be in possession of two rooms at the same time. Instead, I asked that I go upstairs to pack and somebody bring me up the new key in 10 to 15 minutes. That would’ve given me plenty of time to pack and be ready to move rooms. I had to request this three times and decline going and bringing all my stuff down. How was that the best solution for the guest? When eventually, the front desk woman came upstairs with the new key, I was placed in room 502. Same floor just down the hall. Where do I start? There is a very large gap under every single door. If my suspicions are right, and it was mouse droppings in my bathroom, mice would be on the entire floor going in between rooms. So well, I appreciated being moved rooms. I was moved to a new room that I believe is equally infested with mice. I am on the verge of calling the health department. I should’ve been removed to a different floor or checked out and gone to another hotel. Maybe that falls on me for not pushing, but I did not get sleep that night knowing that mice could be going between different rooms. I also took a towel and lined it under my bathroom door to prevent any mice from scattering between my room and the hallway. I also threw away a few bags of chips and snacks that I had opened in my first room. I was not offered any sort of accommodation for my snacks. I had to throw away because of a mouse in my room. I did not feel comfortable eating them. Which brings me to my breakfast on Friday. I was sitting drinking my coffee talking to a colleague who told me because of the mouse and him staying on the same floor. He also did not sleep well. He went downstairs at 1 AM to smoke a cigarette outside. He returned and noticed he forgot his room key. He asked the man at the front desk and all that was required of him was the room number. As a female who travels solo many times a month I am appalled at the lack of safety of your hotel. I don’t know how to address all of these issues. Between building, health concerns of mice, and a safety issue of being granted access to a hotel room without showing ID.

Hyatt Disappointing Cancelation Issue

March 18, 2025

Hyatt Booking Cancelation. Recently I booked a room through a third party for two nights with HVC at NorthStar Lodge to attend my Nieces wedding in early June in Lake Tahoe. Yesterday (mid March), we had to cancel it due to an undisclosed long-term illness. I did this on-line and when finished I received a cancellation receipt that stated this was completed and that No Refund was allowed! Now I’m not saying that this wasn’t disclosed during the process but if so, it wasn’t clearly stated. I contacted them immediately and politely requested a refund and was denied. I then politely requested that the room be reinstated so that others in our group may enjoy it and was also denied. In my opinion, they had the opportunity to take advantage of my situation, and they did.

Hyatt Curacao Disappointing Issues

March 3, 2025

Hyatt, Dreams Curacao a nightmare. Very old, rundown rooms and resort furniture – bathroom in our unit needed to be gutted and rebuilt – all of the pool and beach furniture, together with the lobby furniture needs to be replaced Now, food choice at this all-inclusive was limited and the food was ‘edible’ at best; pool towels were a mismatch of various sizes and colours ranging from hand towels to a few actual beach towels; the room was clean but constantly lacking adequate towels; the property was beautiful but did not compensate for the horrible broken and stained furniture; hotel lacks at PA system, when we experienced a serious fire there were no announcements or assistance from hotel staff. A More Detailed Report Will Be Sent Via Snail Mail To Your Corporate Offices.

Hyatt Regency Disappointing Experience

February 17, 2025

Hyatt Regency Lisles. Absolute dreadful experience. Property is run down and outdated. Elevators make loud screeching sounds Rooms are small, our bed Linens were never changed toilet paper and facial tissue were poor quality and amenities were mixed label brands. Towels were frayed. Shower had good pressure, amazing about the only thing to look forward to. Pool was not available All employees were very friendly. Front entrance was cleared daily after each night’s snow with ice melt applied generously. It’s not what you anticipate when you make a reservation at a Hyatt. I personally will have a very hard time staying at another Hyatt in the future.

Hyatt Place Phoenix AZ Disappointing

February 7, 2025

Hyatt, Hello, I want to bring attention to serious issues at the Hyatt Place Phoenix-North at 10838 N 25th Ave. The management is running this location into the ground. Employee retention is terrible—they even lost a security guard after just nine days. The hotel has ongoing bed bug and roach infestations that are not being properly addressed. For the past five years, the excuse has been that “renovations are scheduled for next month.” Hyatt Place was once a great hotel and has the potential to be again, but this location desperately needs better leadership. Management is failing to maintain basic operations—elevators constantly break down, and overall conditions are deteriorating. I have photo and video evidence to support my claims and encourage further investigation. This hotel needs new management that truly cares about its staff and guests. I plan to escalate my concerns to additional agencies in hopes of seeing improvements. Thank you.
