Rural King Greenwood IN Frustrating Experience

February 9, 2025

Rural King, Extremely slow processing of items from delivery to store to being picked up by customer. Over the last 4 years I have purchased 4 items from the Rural King in Greenwood Indiana. Every time I have been told it only takes 1 to 2 days to process them for delivery to the customer. All 4 times it has taken better than a week to get the email notifying me they are ready for pick up. I was told this last time there are 3 people able to process the items, the store manager, assistant manager and 1 FFL holder. this last time, after waiting 3 days, I asked the Store manager what takes so long? He told me they were doing a mandated inventory of all the inventory in the store and it took the entire day that my item arrived on. I had to call out his lie because I was standing at the counter purchasing other items. By checking the time in the email from Fedex that showed delivery to the store and comparing it to the time on my receipt I knew he was lying because they were within 2 minutes of each other as i stood at the counter he said ” well that finishes the inventory” and put the paperwork in the safe. then he said I’m going to take a break and walked off. This will be the last purchase of any type from Rural King Greenwood Indiana until they get rid of this employee. Oh yeah, its been 4 days since my item was signed for.

Rural King Disappointing Customer Service

Rural King, Poor service. I came in on January 17th, 2025. I Needed to purchase 2 kerosine heaters as back up if we lost power. I waited 15 minutes for help to load them onto a buggy. Was unable to get help so loaded them myself. I then had to go to the back of the store to find containers to put kerosine in. Nice man name William was very helpful and reached on the very top shelf and got me 2 containers. On my way back to the register, there were 2 men talking. I’m assuming one was a manager. He asked if I needed help. Where was he when I had to muscle these heaters onto a buggy?? When I answered he had already gone back to his conversation with the other man. I checked out and had to put the kerosine heaters in my car with no help. I’m 65 years old a 3-time cancer survivor and 4ft 11′. Not even 5 feet tall. You had another 2 employees outside as I was trying to load my heaters. One was talking to his sister, and the other was working on the display outside. Neither one was able to help me. This is unacceptable. I went to Rural King because they were cheaper than Tractor Supply and close to my home. This is not the first time I wasn’t able to get any help. I guess I will have to take my business elsewhere. As you don’t seem to have very good management. At least at Tractor Supply and Walmart and Ace Hardware they are willing to help with heavy items.

Rural King Disappointing Customer Service

Rural King, Tractor and service. I bought a 37 hp hydrostatic tractor on Memorial Day worst decision I made! The shifter (low to high)sometimes takes 2 hands to select when starting tractor the tractor goes down the field on its own, even with the brakes engaged to stop it you have to lightly hit reverse to stop it when you take your foot off after a few seconds it starts going down the field on its own. The safety lever on the bucket joy lever activates on its own locking controls. This time it locked the controls with the bucket down making it a plow, after weeks a Rural King repairman looked at it and said it needed a part its been 35 days and the part hasn’t arrived, and the shifter can’t be adjusted. the tractor doesn’t even have 50 hours on it. and hasn’t worked right. since I received it. When I first got it bolts were missing on key components. So if you get one check and double check before using it . service is bad, parts are hard to get, and corporate is iffy. Tractor has Been Down for over 45 days. and all I get is parts are on the way!
