Wayfair Unresolved Disappointing Delivery

June 22, 2025

Wayfair, Delivery of product. I ordered 2 dressers on June 4, 2025, and picked a delivery date of June 21st a Saturday, so I could have everything ready in the room. Received confirmation on Thursday, June 19th, two days before of my delivery window, between 12noon and 4pm. Great! Got the room ready including removing items from the current dresser and donated the old ones. On Friday afternoon, (less than 24 hours before deliver) I get the “delayed” message to Saturday, June 28th, another week! I understand freight and timelines, but if you are tracking and communicating to your freight company, you have more time to adjust than 24 hours. I was given the speech from the online chat person that they cannot guarantee a certain delivery, blah, blah, blah. I do understand your policy but really less than 24 hours. Now I have clothes scattered all over my house with nowhere to go for a week. Unacceptable Wayfair! Hoping your product makes up for this huge disappointment. You need to do better for the price.

Wayfair Disappointing Experience

Wayfair, Unfortunate Situation. I placed an order with Wayfair on November 27,2024, total 4 items. I received 3 items on November 30, 2024, and the last item on December 3,2024. One week prior to receiving my orders I had to leave town because of a family emergency. I asked my son to put my items in the garage for safe keeping until I returned home. My Mother had gotten really sick and after fighting a long battle she unfortunately passed away. After several months I was finally able to return home and inspect my items, I noticed one item was incorrect, Wayfair had sent me the wrong item. I knew my return time had already expired but because of my unfortunate situation I thought Wayfair might understand and send me the item I ordered and take back the wrong item, after all it was initially Wayfair’s mistake. Unfortunate Wayfair was not willing to work with me, therefore now I have an item that is much cheaper, and I have no use for. At the end of the day, Wayfair made the mistake, not me.

Wayfair, I ordered a kitchen island specifically because the product description and specifications clearly stated that no assembly was required. However, what I received was completely unassembled—dozens of pieces, screws, a power cord, and no assembly instructions included. I chose this item over others, even at a higher price, because it claimed to arrive fully assembled. I reviewed many options and selected this one only because of that detail, which was repeated in multiple sections of the listing. This feels like a clear case of false advertising.

I contacted customer service and explained that I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of returning such a large item. I was issued a 50% refund, but I find that unacceptable given the circumstances. Misleading product listings not only create a frustrating customer experience, Wayfair also reflects poor business practices and raise serious concerns about consumer trust.

Wayfair Disappointing Quality and Customer Service

Wayfair, Misleading Description and Poor Product Quality. I’m extremely disappointed with my recent purchase from Wayfair. The item was advertised as “solid wood,” but that turned out to be misleading—the legs are made of plastic. I paid $2,913.83 for this chair and waited over a week for delivery, only to receive a damaged product. One leg was broken, the entire chair was dusty, and the mesh lining underneath was torn. Wayfair’s response was to offer a 10% discount, which feels inadequate given the high price and the condition of the product. To make matters worse, the item’s price increased shortly afterward. This experience feels like a clear case of false advertising and poor quality control. Wayfair needs to do better for its customers.

Wayfair Damaged Item Issue

Wayfair, Carport Received Damaged. I received the carport on January 3, 2025, there was snow on the ground. The carport box was damaged, I took pics to share with Wayfair customer service. In February the weather cleared up, the contractors open the (1) box and there were (3) damage parts; one being the roof of the carport was chipped. One of the metal pieces looked as if they had been chewed on the end. The other damaged part was bent really bad. I called for a pick up and was schedule on February 22, 2025, between 11:00am – 7:00pm. At 5:03pm, I call called dispatch to ask if the pick crew would call when they are on their way, I was informed yes, they would call. At 6:30pm, no call so I called dispatch to inquire again, she replied Ma’am the truck is back in the dock. I asked her why was I not notified that they were not coming. She could not give an answer, I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he was sorry, and this should not have happened. I was scheduled for March 1, 2025, they still did not show. I called dispatch and she said she would escalate this, I was told my window would be 7:00am – 1:00pm. I called for confirm the next day; the lady told me the truck has to delivery the items on the truck before they pick up items. So I was told a lie regarding my pick up window. I was rescheduled for March 3, 2025, the pick up crew came, they did not have a dolly, or forklift so they were not able to pick up the carport. At this point, I’m no longer interested in a replacement carport and will not order any large products from Wayfair in the future. I still have the carport waiting for a pick date.
