Discount, Tire, Loyal customer treated like a child. I have been a loyal Discount Tire customer for many years. When I lived in Dallas, Discount Tire was always my first choice. I even lobbied for Discount Tire stores in two Texas communities, so I was genuinely excited when the Garden City, Kansas location opened. I live about 70 miles from Garden City and was there on June 27 for medical testing. I knew I needed at least two new tires, and because two of my existing tires were from Discount Tire, I wanted to see if any warranty or rebate remained. Although I only needed two tires, I considered replacing all four because I travel frequently. I drive an older van that I have had since I returned from the mission field in 2023. Living on a limited income, every maintenance expense is carefully planned. When I arrived, the TPMS warning light on the dashboard was not on. I do have a check engine light but that has nothing to do with the tires. I had previously experienced issues with the right front tire, but the TPMS system had always worked correctly and alerted me when there was a problem. Hunter assisted me. We negotiated the price because the installation charges were higher than I expected. At no point did anyone discuss removing, replacing, or the condition of my tire pressure sensors. Had that conversation occurred, I would have remembered it. About 30 minutes later I left the store, and almost immediately the tire warning light came on. When I called Hunter after arriving home, he initially said he didn’t remember me and even asked if I was sure I had been at Discount Tire. Only after I referenced my receipt did he tell me to bring the vehicle back. Since I would not be returning to Garden City for another week, I stopped at a local co-op. When they checked the tires with a TPMS scan tool, they seemed to think that there were no TPMS sensors installed, where sensors had previously existed. I was also told that the tires installed were already two years old. When I returned to the Garden City store, Hunter was unavailable, so I spoke with Jackson and Jonathan. Jonathan first insisted he had personally discussed the sensors with me. When I told him that never happened, he changed his story and claimed he had told Hunter, who supposedly informed me. That also never happened. He then repeatedly changed his explanation, first saying none of my tires had sensors, then saying only the passenger-front tire lacked one, and later claiming the warning light had already been on when I arrived. None of those statements are true. The check engine light was on, but not the TPMS warning light. The conversation became argumentative and dismissive. By that point, I felt I was being gaslighted. I was repeatedly told conversations had occurred that never happened, and the explanation kept changing as I challenged each version of events. Rather than addressing my concerns, I was made to feel as though my memory of the events was the problem. Only after I told Jonathan I would file a corporate complaint did he suddenly offer to install one sensor at no charge. That does not resolve the underlying issue or restore my confidence that the vehicle was serviced properly. I left feeling disappointed, misled, and taken advantage of. This is not the level of honesty, professionalism, or customer service I have always associated with Discount Tire. As a new business in a community the size of Garden City, reputation matters. I sincerely hope this location reflects the standards that built Discount Tire’s reputation elsewhere, because this experience did not. I would appreciate a thorough review of this incident, including how my vehicle was serviced and why I received multiple conflicting explanations from store personnel. I also request that Discount Tire restore my TPMS system to the condition it was in when I arrived by replacing and programming any sensors that were removed or by providing a clear explanation if they contend the sensors were already missing. Additionally, because I was required to make another 140-mile round trip to address a problem that occurred immediately after the service, I believe reimbursement for my travel expenses would be appropriate. Finally, I would appreciate a written response explaining what occurred, what steps will be taken to prevent similar situations in the future, and what Discount Tire intends to do to restore my confidence as a long-time customer. I hope this matter can be resolved professionally and fairly. I would much rather continue recommending Discount Tire than feel compelled to warn others about my experience.

Discount Tire, Traveling with wife grandson and two dogs. I got a left rear flat today 3-17-25 . Crippled it to Discount Tire.I get there, though they seemed busy they were pumping them up. It’s 3:45. I need one tire replaced , I got them at Discount. They told me 8:00pm if then. What is going on?. This place ruined a spring break because they wouldn’t help a traveler 1200 miles from home.

Discount Tire Frustrating Experience

Discount Tire, Certificate of Nothing….One year and 16 days ago we purchased 4 new tires for our Chevy Traverse. We paid extra to get 4 Certificates, one for each tire obviously. We were told the certificates cover nearly everything and how most of the time they will replace a tire with a new one should something happen. One year and 16 days later the left front tire blew on the freeway. We take it in and show the certificate paperwork for the tires, they do a visual inspection and upon returning tell us that the damage is not covered for either the blown tire or the other front tire that had warn down severely because “the damage and the wear are due to you vehicle not being aligned properly”. When I point out that there were barely over 9k miles since they were put on he just repeats himself. I say to him if the alignment is/was so bad why would they just throw 4 new tires on without saying a word? He tells me they don’t do alignments to which I reply, yes I know but any good tire man can just look at the old tires being replaced and see by the wear that the vehicle is badly aligned. He says nothing. One year ago and 16 days we spent over $1400 on those barely year old tires and now they want me to pay another $800 for the two front replacements and give me a lousy credit of $180 “just to be nice about the certificate misunderstanding”. This is terrible. Discount Tire needs to cover at least 90% of the loss. I would have gladly taken it to get it aligned before spending all that money had they just mentioned it even once. I left a message at their corporate office a week ago and I’m still waiting for a return call! I’m not done with this. I want what is fair. If I wanted to rent tires every year I would have.

Discount Tire Disappointing Experience

Discount Tire, Disappointing and misleading practice. I decided to put my second vehicle back on the road since my husband’s death; this way my grandkids would have a vehicle to drive instead of the one I drive. I went to Discount Tires store#VAB06 and put 4 brand new tires on my 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The installer broke the stud and told me that the lug wasn’t threaded correctly and that’s why he broke it. I was told that I had to take my vehicle to another auto place called Big Als Muffler and Brake for them to install a new stud and it would only run me about $20-$25. I take my Suzuki to the business for the repair and I’m told that just 1 stud repair will run me $198 before any type of discount:. they tell me to go back to Discount Tires because they should be fixing my vehicle and not me. So I go back to your store#VAB06 and was told by the manager Joe that I went to the wrong Big Als so I go to the Big Als that Joe tell me to go to and when I show them my lug nut with the broken stud the 3 mechanics that came to the counter said “I see that Discount Tires are doing it again making the customer pay for the repair.” Joe told me to go to Big Als on Battlefield Blvd when I get there, I’m told that I need an appointment. so, they give me one for tomorrow. Joe never gave me another paper stating that the storeVAB06 would cover the repair since your employee broke the stud. I’m an elderly handicapped lady on a fixed budget who feels like I was taken advantage of especially because of what was stated by the mechanics at the repair shop.

Discount Tire Disappointing Customer Service

Discount Tire, I am dissatisfied lately with service and workmanship. I have had my tire sensors replaced and they go out then they want to charge me again, they are under warranty. I also was told that my rims were chipping/flaking and that is why my tire was leaking air (2x told). They wanted to sell me 1 rim @ $650.00 a piece. Took it to another tire place, to have rim sealed, had a nail in my tire. Took nail back to Discount Tire( my tire has not leaked since) discount tire said no not possible all staff has been working their for at least 4mo. So I asked my technician he has only been there for a week and a half. I spend thousands with discount tire every year I just expected more from the customer service.
