I bought 2 pairs of glasses in July for six hundred and something. we were supposed to be ready within a couple of weeks but had to wait 5 weeks. one pair was ready a couple of weeks sooner but I said I wanted to get them at the same time so the warranty would start together for both of them. when I finally picked them up I said “so the warranty will start from today—right? they said the warranty started from the date I purchased them which meant the warranty started in July even though I didn’t get them till august. In one pair the lens is cracked from where the nose piece is attached to the lens.(frameless type) they will fix them one time but if they crack again I would have to pay the cost to fix them. this is the first & last time I will get glasses from them. when I asked what I would have to pay to exchange the cracked ones for ones with a frame rather than fixing the broken ones they said they had to phone the head office. they called & said they would give me 50% off new ones. the cost for new ones was $390,00 which was ridiculous if there was supposed to be 50% off..this means the glasses were actually worth 780.00 which was more than I paid for both original pairs. when I said that the price is crazy I was told it included getting the broken ones fixed. I did not want the broken pair as they wouldn’t be covered under warranty again. I wanted to exchange them for new sturdier ones in place of the ones that broke. terrible, terrible service.& would not recommend them to my worse enemy.

     
  2. My family and me have been customers for more than 20 years. We called yesterday to schedule a follow up appointment with a specific person and we were informed that we could not ook a date znd time with any individual because of confidentiality. Is this what Hakim has come to that I have to waste my time, going to a store not knowing if whom I want to work with is there are not. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THIS. Trust me when I say if this is your practice after more than 20 years you have lost myself and family as customers.

     
  3. I went into Hakim ordered a pair of glasses on Oct. 19 it's been over 5 weeks. I asked before I purchased how long would it take they said a week to 10 days. I have followed up plenty of times and I get the run around, the lenses they tried to make broke, they sent it away to the factory, the factory can't fit the lens in come back and pick another pair picked another pair then they said they would make the lens the same shape I have now, however they came rounded said they can't do anything else, so I didn't take them, and they are withholding the deposit I put down , and I'm still waiting for the other pair they are
    suppose to be making each time I call they have a different answer. I would have left and gone elsewhere but they won't give me my money back
    as they said they would be out of pocket as they already made them. But they made them wrong I shouldn't have to have a pair of glasses I don't like just because someone made them wrong. Please contact me so we can get to the bottom of this.

  4. I am bringing a serious concern i experienced and was ripped off and over charged from Hakim Optical.

    Two months ago I purchased eye glasses after looking at an ad by Hakim Optical 2 pairs for $199. I then visited a Hkim Optical store at Woodbine Center. I gave them a doctor prescription for the eye glasses the sales women calculated the charges on a piece of paper handwriting a charge of $549 when I disagreed with the charge then she started giving discount as if she was doing me a favour in the end she brought down the charges to $334 for a pair with Bi-focal lenses as doctors prescription. After almost 10 days the glasses were ready I paid the set amount of $334,

    When i started wearing the glasses i experienced difficulty for reading properly then I got my glasses checked from an other Optical store and was told that glasses are defective and not even Bi-focal at all. As I experienced poor customer service and cheating I decided to contact you and I need my glasses to be replaced with proper lenses and demand a 2nd pair as advertised.

     
  5. Hi I had my eyes checked in jan . Need a prescription so paid over $600 for my glasses .. ever since I cant clean them . Every time I do they look like there s smugness all over. How I clean them.. have the. Spray.. the wipes… and clothes given to me .. had them sent back 3 times to get fixed but still not able to clean them…… I would like something to be done . Like my money back… this was at Harkin in mic mac mall ..Dartmouth .ns canada.. I would not recomend hakim to anyone…some of the staff just roll there eyes at me. Thrres one lady a older blonde lady.. that goes out of her say to help me but.. still cant clean my lens and I need to wear them all.   6. Unbeknownst to me, a “certified” ‘temp’, Michelle Tai, was brought in test my eyes at Hakim on the Guelph Line in Burlington. I was charged $80 & given a new prescription. When I took it to my regular eye-glass maker, they said there was a strange change in the prism on the lens. They phoned Hakim to confirm. Hakim confirmed, so they went ahead with the glasses. I knew the moment I put them on that something was very wrong. The ‘’eye-cross’ condition was 10xs worse, not better. I got a second test done ($70), and he identified the problem as an INACCURATE write-up of the ‘prism’ in my prescription. ~ New glasses were made ($400+). ~ I have tried innumerable times over several weeks to get Ms. Tai to compensate me for the INACCURACY of her work. To no avail, she stalls, wont pick up, hides behind Hakim, and Hakim hides behind her in a stupid game of ‘telephone tag’. In the simplest of terms, she made a mistake. She should accept responsibility for her error as a ‘professional’ and immediately compensate me for the monies spent, not to mention the anguish & inconvenience. ~ Not impressed & will tell everyone I know to steer clear of HAKIM, especially their ‘temp’ “certified” apparently ‘freelance’ employees.

     
  7. Very happy with level of service received at the Ajax store at 1949 Ravenscroft. Anna was very professional and an absolute pleasure to deal with.

     
  8. We are very impressed with the staff at the Woodstock store. The optician adjusted my
    frames even though I had bought them elsewhere!

    1. The Woodstock store has lost my second pair of glasses, this is vehemently unacceptable, just shy of $1000.00, the organizational skills and filing system is pathetic.
