  • My family and I reserved 3 cabins and a campsite for my husband's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery last week end. My daughter's cabin had an oder which seamed to come from the air conditioner. She asked for a new cabin and the manager refused and told her she would not get her money back if she leaves. The manager was so rude at one point I asked her where was her customer service and told her she is being so rude with her attitude and her raised voice. My daughter lost her money and she had to get a hotel. The worse KOA I have ever stayed at. It's a shame there is no other place to camp at in this area.

  • KOA/Jacksonville in Kingsland, Georgia. All ways great, this time Memorial Day weekend. It rained a couple hours after being there. Res was Friday-Tuesday. Our lot was underwater for two days. The equipment to get the water out of our site was not working. We and grandkids had to walk in water to get out the door. For two days. My husband went to complain and we were thrown out of the park. Very unhealthy situtation. No money back or im sorry.

  • We are tent camping our way across the US. KOA is getting too expensive for what they offer. Our tent sites have ranged from ok to really sucks. KOA Moab UT was small and packed in tiny squares; KOA Grand Canyon: The sites are nice and big but the bathrooms are way far away, even the portable bathrooms were by the office not out in the back 40; KOA Albuquerque was a super nice place in the middle of a ghetto; KOA Carlsbad NM was the nicest KOA sites we stayed at but they are an hour away from everything; KOA San Antonio put us in a mud hole, apparently they had planted a tree in our spot the day before and didn't think to put us in one of the 5 dry spots they had available. I fell in the mud scaring my dog and she ended up in a drain pipe, I had to dig her out. We ended up in a hotel closer to town. The one that takes the cake is the KOA Hot Springs AR, the tent sites are terraced on a hill and absolutely no drainage so when it rains the tent site at the bottom of the hill becomes a pond (this was our spot). They moved us to a cabin but charged us for the move. She called it a "reservation change". We spent the rest of our weekend trip washing and drying our bedding and clothes. We had to get new tents. I am looking into new camping clubs. KOA seems to be getting tired and is failing to meet the standards they set just a few years ago.

  • KOA prices are getting out of control, it used to cost $60 a night at the Myrtle Beach KOA. Now they installed brick patios and raised the price to $111. Many of the KOAs have done the same. The purpose of using the camper to go on vacations was the camp site was 1/2 the price of a hotel room. Not any more, you have pushed us to join coast to coast. See ya KOA!!!

  • KOA in Weatherford was the worse ever. Roads are not marked and trees are not trimmed. Ended up damaging our trailer by having the awning ripped off and roof damaged going down one of the roads to our assigned spot. Management would not give me the owners names and numbers for my insurance company. Thinking of suing. Had homeless people living in a tent in the [park that bothered us the whole time. Contacted KOA corporate and they said they could not do anything for me. What a joke. Several thousands of dollars damage to my trailer. Very upset.

  • I just wanted to share my experience with this KOA. I called to cancel my reservation which is in 30 days. I am 100% disabled from the service and I have major health issues that prevent me from driving my RV anymore. I called be cause I had put down a $400 deposit and to see if my wife and I could stay in one of their cabins instead. Pat who I spoke to said he didn’t think he could do this. He was supposed to call me back and I have yet to hear from him. This is very sad when you can’t help health issues and they are not willing to accommodate in any other way. I will make sure to tell my family and friends that going camping at a KOA is a joke!!! Thanks for nothing!!! If you can’t help someone that served our country why be open!!

  • The manager Jill at the KOA Harpers Ferry Located is rude and has absolutely no customer service etiquette. As soon as she got on the phone with me, she was abrasive and had an attitude right off the bat. When I explained my situation and explain what the staff told me a few weeks ago, she called me a liar and told me I either come the weekend I rented the site for and lose the money. I understand that KOA has rules and policies and that is fine. When I ask where the rules that she is are talking about she got even ruder with me. I am not the type of person to complain and rules are not mean to be broke but as the customer, I deserve to be treated with respect and talked to in a polite manner. When I asked to have her name, she hung up on me. I called back to have a legitimate question answered and she refused to listen to my question and she put me on hold.

This is my first experience with KOA and as a paying customer; I refuse to ever go back. I have not even been to the campsite yet but due lack of poor customer service I will never go back or recommend the site to anyone.

From the other comments, I have read about KOA, I suggest that corporate put their employees through customer service training. I have seen countless reviews about the stuff having attitudes and being rude. I hope that stuff realizes they need to treat the customers with respect and see that the people that are staying at these campgrounds are the people that help to fund their paychecks.

  • We stayed at the KOA in South Lake Tahoe and we will NEVER GO BACK!!It's extremely small among other things. Of course we paid in full when we first arrived and then the Owner's son was a complete JERK and started blowing us up about where we were parked BEFORE he ever even asked us what we were doing there or if we had paid. THEN…2 weeks later I was balancing my bank statement and they had charged us "twice". I called and spoke to Shaun about getting us a refund and he immediately started arguing with me before I could even explain what my receipt showed. When I asked for an email or fax number to email or fax him my proof that they charged us twice, again…I got the run around. Shaun doesn't have an email at that office and they only have a "private" fax and they didn't even know what that number was!!!! OMFG!! The un-professional, un-ethical, disrespectful, incompetence behaviors and attitudes was just to much to take. Camper's beware!!!!

  • Stayed at KOA Flagstaff, AZ, first time at KOA and it will be my Last !! What a dump, I have 20 ft trailer , spot I was assigned was between two trailers , these trailers have not moved in years, flat tires ,trash underneath them, truck tires piled along side of them , sheets on windows, auto parts scattered around, disgusting, behind me was a trailer park, the trailers looked even scarier than the ones next to me. this place is an absolute DUMP, I did not feel safe here with my 3 grandkids, we booked for 3 nights and left after 1 night ,you would be better off in a Walmart parking lot, and probally safer.

  • Don't stay at the Oregon Dunes KOA. What was a great stay, turned sour after we departed. We got a phone call from them the day after we got home accusing us of damaging the cabin we were in and stealing a picture. Then they billed us $500. We have no recourse. There was no check sheet to go over like when you rent a car. We cannot prove anything. I can't be more upset about this event. We are not thieves. I will never stay at any other KOA's as long as I live and I will tell all my acquaintances my experience as well. This is all I can do. I hope other vacationers don't get robbed like we did.

  • Joyce the manager is an ignorant unprofessional manager who I wouldn't put in charge of a carnival ride. After cancelling a reservation KAO Corbin KY refused to return my deposit.

  • We rented a site for a month. One day we were in from of the office and the owner, Frankie, drove up. She was bragging about "plinking" with her rifle. My husband is a hunter, so she gave him her rifle. It was LOADED!. We should have called the police, but did not. A bad mistake on or part.
