Radisson Disappointing Experience

Radisson, I had a terrible experience the weekend of 4/25/25-4/27/25. We drove 5.5 hours for a large basketball tournament. upon arrival, it took over 45 minutes for us to be checked in. The girl at the front desk was very stoic and had a condescending attitude. When we finally got our room key, we noticed that there were leaks all over the property. We had to step with care throughout our entire stay to ensure that we did not slip and fall. The hall ways were musty as well as though it was home to nothing but kids returning from athletic activities; upon arriving to our floor, I noticed other people standing around in the hall way. When I asked what was wrong, they said that they could not enter their room because someone was already in the room. To my surprise, we were met with the exact same thing. I was horrified. I went back downstairs and they offered the other two customers another room and asked if I wanted my money back so I could leave but, it would take a few days before it returned to my card so I was stuck basically. One of the other customers was given another room to which they had the same thing. They just decided to leave. When we got to our room, the door was very loose and not secure. I had to put furniture and the iron board as a makeshift lock to offer some sense of protection. I did not sleep all night thinking someone could easily access the room. I met with the manager the next morning. He said it was a mistake due to them having new employees. However, the second room that we were all given was given to us by a manager and the same thing happened. They offered me $10.00 of my stay. My son and I were very unhappy and not pleased at all and will not be going back again.

Radisson Blu Brazzaville Congo Disappointing

Radisson, Health hazard. Recently stayed 3 nights at the Radisson Blu in Brazzaville, Congo. The air conditioning did not work in all of the rooms in our group. Rooms remained at 24-26 degrees C the entire stay. Additionally, there was mold and evidence of water leakage in several areas of the room. In the bathroom, the ceiling was falling down due to water leakage. Water was dripping down the wall and the wood laminate was warped, stained and peeling. The electricity was often not working throughout our stay. After reading many reviews, it would seem that this has been an ongoing problem. As a person that travels often, I am aware of what a 4 star hotel should be. This hotel was not up to a 4 star rating and definitely not up to the Radisson standard of luxury. I would recommend an onsite visit from corporate to assess the situation. I know that Radisson would not want their name associated with this caliber of hospitality.

Radisson Country Inn & Suites Lubbock TX Terrible

Radisson, Worst hotel ever. Country Inn & Suites, 62nd Street, Lubbock Texas. Booked a Premium King room for two nights. We came back to hotel after being gone for 13 hours to stay the 2nd night. Room key had been canceled. Went downstairs, got the key reinstated. Back to Room and found it exactly like we left it… nothing had been cleaned, no clean towels, bed unmade, etc. Back downstairs… no apology, no I’m so sorry, nothing! Blamed us and said housekeeping claimed the room was locked from the inside. We were gone from 10am until 11:30pm. No one was in the room. They move us to another room at midnight… it was beyond Filthy. hair in the shower, man’s shavings in the tub, toilet paper and dirt in the bathroom vent, blood smeared on the shower wall. No Phone in the room. Refrig did not work. Pillow case had something black smeared on it. Next morning – I wanted a refund for the one night. Nope. In fact, they Charged Me $120!!!! 19 yr old girl claimed to be “the manager”. Right. Worst Hotel Ever. Spend the night in your car. You’ll be better off. I have over 20 photos which will be sent to the CEO of Choice Hotels (Raddisson ownership).

Management Need To be Changed

Today is 26 January, I requested from Amy at your corporate office to have the group department with Choice Hotels to call me, after a request late 18 Jan to make sure all my reservations were double checked – I asked Chelsey she said I had to speak to the Manager – gave me her email I emailed her at 11:24 pm because 3 rooms were charged before check out, with a higher rate. I requested for this to be done before everyone checked in at 3:00 pm.

After 3 pm your manager came into our room to tell Tim to take down the window covering he put up to stop the sun from coming into our room, as we have the room until Sunday at 3:30 pm and be out by 4 pm. I at the time had no idea this was the Manager. I asked her if the manager was in the hotel today. I introduced myself to Ms Little and asked if she made all the corrections.

I could not understand why Ms Little did nothing with my 14 rooms to correct the rate problem, plus when she came into our room not introducing herself to me and welcoming our group to your beautiful hotel.

As we walked to the front desk I asked why no one could give me the total per night with all the taxes and fees. I had asked the front desk to let me see the three rooms already charged to my credit card with the wrong rate, the reply was – my name is not on the reservation.

I requested for her to print out mine – she would not. I could not understand why not. Getting a little upset and trying my best to keep calm – I told her I would go to my room and call the corporate office. I should not have had to leave my group and sit on the phone to take care of this matter. She knew my rate was $ 119.00. I did not know all the taxes. With 14 rooms – I wanted to make sure all the changes were made. Being in the travel agency field since 1974. Front office and Back office. I know and understand it is way easier to make a change before. Because it makes for more work later. (wasted time)

So I am on the phone with Amy with the corporate office and learn my rates are not $119.00 They are 144.00 135.00 119.00 119.00 and 144.00 – Then there is a knock on my door Chelsey and the police are more than one. I express….Are you kidding me, you called the police on me because I want to know how much I am being charged for my rooms. I went back to the phone and let Amy know what was going on and she opened a case file for me. The Police asked Chelsey and Ms Little to make the corrections and get back to me before the close of the day, Nothing was done with any of the corrections needed. Sunday night I called the front desk and my changes were not done. I had to pay a higher rate in order to check out.

Now I can’t understand why no one at Choice Hotels cares about how your guest are treated – NO phone call from the Corporate office. No call from the group department. Things sure have changed since I retired.

So my question is WHY did not of my rates get corrected when the few rooms had the wrong rate – I had to check out and pay the higher rate-

I chose the Cambria because of the Radisson name. Kinda sad that no one has called me from the corporate office
