Starbucks’ Competition

In the competitive coffeehouse market, Starbucks faces challenges from other major coffee chains like Dunkin’ Donuts, Peet’s Coffee, and Costa Coffee, Caribou Coffee, Dutch Bros, PJ’s Coffee, as well as local cafes. Additionally, in the broader food industry, Starbucks competes with fast-food and quick-service restaurants such as McDonald’s, Panera Bread, and Subway, which also offer coffee and similar food items. Despite this competition, Starbucks maintains its leadership position through innovation, a global presence, and a strong brand identity.

Starbucks Disappointing Experience

May 12, 2025

Starbucks, I feel like zero stars. The issue is with an employee who was taking too long in preparing our short order. I got mad at him and he followed me out of the Starbucks and took a picture my license plate and told me he was going to call the authorities and to never come back. He then called my daughter’s work place and it backfired on him too. I’m sorry but you never tell customers not to come back. What kind of customer service is that? He’s the one that needs to be fired.Show more

Starbucks Peachtree City GA Disappointing

April 20, 2025

Starbucks, No more grounds for gardeners! Visited the newly renovated Starbucks on Hwy 54, Peachtree City, GA. Inquired about grounds for gardeners and was told by the manager that they now have a new brewing system and “they don’t have grounds anymore.” Fascinating…is Starbucks using instant coffee? Is the grounds for gardeners program still available else where or have Starbucks abandoned this environmental friendly practice?Show more

Starbucks Alton IL Disappointing Experience

April 19, 2025

Starbucks, Sub Par Order and Service. To whom this may concern. My wife and I are loyal customers to Starbucks and go to Starbucks more often than I’d like to admit. I was out and about this Saturday morning running errands. My wife called me to inform me that she placed an order at Starbucks and if I could go pick it up. I was in the area so I immediately drove there for pick up. Once I get there my wife informed me that she made it around 4-5 minutes ago around the amount of time it took me to get there. I drive up to the drive through to inform them I have a mobile pick up order (stated wife’s name) the gentleman that was on the order station claimed that we usually ask our customers to give us a 12 minute window before coming to get it. I never knew this. I asked my wife, after finishing at the drive up intercom, does it state this when you place an order. She stated that it doesn’t.Show more

Needless to say I had a very sub par experience at the drive through. The gentleman seemed annoyed with the tone he spoke to me with due to us apparently inconveniencing him for pulling up to the window earlier than we are expected to by his claims. Not only that, our 2 drink and 2 breakfast item order…the drink I ordered was not filled up. About 10-15% of the cup was empty. This trip to Starbucks was not one I’d like to remember as a customer. Again, I felt very under appreciated for spending our hard earned money at a place that charges premium prices to serve us sub par coffees, but the sub par service feeling under appreciated that we are giving this company business.

The Starbucks location I am referring to is the Alton, IL location at 1723 Homer Adams Pkwy, Alton IL 62002. I could not find a corporate office email for Starbucks. Please contact me when you are able to. Thank you for listening to my complaint and issues I experience this morning.

Starbucks Disappointing Star Points Issue

March 25, 2025

Starbucks, I have been a customer for years and I spend around $5000 per year at your company. I currently use a mobile App for 15 orders with the

receipts and Starbucks told me that all the purchases that were placed by the mobile App was not honored by Starbucks. Time to protest this company.

Starbucks Des Moines IA Disappointing Experience

March 14, 2025

Starbucks, I have a hearing disability. I wear hearing aids but still have difficulty hearing. I couldn’t understand the person at the drive through so I said I would pull up to the window. I said that I had hearing problems. The person the window had a very thick accent so I had an even harder time making out what she was saying. An older woman came running to the window obviously upset that I couldn’t understand the person at the window. She said pull around to the door and we’ll bring it out to you. When another person brought it out to me I mentioned that I was sorry because I couldn’t understand the person at the window because of her accent. She went back in the building then another person came out and yelled at me and said “You can’t say things like that”. I said well it’s true. She repeated it and I said I’m sorry if you don’t think that’s diversity, equity and inclusion but it’s the truth! She said don’t come back! I said I won’t!!! I will Never go back!!! I’m a hairdresser and I will tell everyone I see!!! I’m considering contacting an attorney about this experience. This happened at the Starbucks on Buffalo Rd. in Des Moines Iowa.Show more
