Menards, I visited the Machesney Park, IL store on 11/30/‘24 to return some supplies from a tile job for my home. After the return (was fine), I went to pick-up some small items before leaving. One item to get, was a Christmas wrapping kit, on sale for $6.99. When looking in the area for Christmas items, I could not find the item. I found an associate, and asked for help finding the item. She checked her handheld computer, and directed me back to the area I was searching, and told me it should be there, If there were any left, (was OK). I went back to the area again, and kept searching. Another associate, a nice young man, approached me, and asked if he could help. He checked his computer, and found that the item was not on display, but said it was in the store, most likely on a skid, on the third floor, in storage. He called the store manager over, and they had a meeting. The result of the confab, was summoning another worker to search for the skid, and bring the item downstairs, in the area where plywood is sold. The young man took me over to the plywood area, and we waited. And waited. And waited. The young man then found another “manager”, and asked to find out what the status of the search was. No answers were given… The young man then took it upon himself, to take matters into his own hands, and went upstairs to check on the items himself, while I waited. Five minutes later, the young man returned with a cart containing two large cartons, and a wide grin on his face. He exclaimed that he had found the item, and that they came in two colors. I took two. Obviously, this is the Good customer service part of the story. I wish I could remember the young man’s name, even though he told me his name, when I asked him. He is the type of fine employee that every employer hopes to find. I hope that Menards, and his manager realize what they have in this young man. He made my experience at Menards this day, turn from a bad one, to a great one. Fortunately, I took a photo of this young man, before we parted, and it is included below…

Menards Disappointing Order Experience

Menards, No reimbursement for items not received. I ordered 20 jars of 31 oz. pickled mushrooms on line and only recvd 17 28 oz. jars. and one of those was not properly sealed so many jars were sticky. I had to throw out that jar. The company stated they had a video of the order being filled and it had 20 jars. I asked to see the video and they stated they could not provide it to me. They did reimburse me for the weight difference @ $10 but I am appalled that a company as big as Menards would quibble and not offer to re-send 4 jars of pickled mushrooms to satisfy a customer of many years who has never had a complaint before.

Menards Schererville IN Disappointing Service

Menards, Most of the Menards employees are helpful, decent people. I have been shopping at Menards since they opened the store in Schererville, Indiana. Stating that, I do believe management trains certain employees to be unconcerned, unhelpful, and uncertain where they are or how they got there. I was shopping at the Schererville store this afternoon. Had a bit of a problem finding their auto oil filter section, where they had purolator oil filters on sale. Silly me thought they would be located in the auto motor oil aisle. After looking for the “easter egg” oil filter, I had to ask a clerk to help me. She showed me where they hid, by the misc. auto accessories. okay, I get it, why make it easy. Next I want to find lamp shades that were on sale. Asked a clerk who stated they where upstairs in the electric section. I take my cart, go upstairs and proceed to walk around like a lost child looking for a parent. Can’t find the lamp shade section. Tried to stop a clerk as she passed my by, but she was busy trying to get back to her job, in customer service. How ironic. Checking out the clerk inquires if I found everything alright. No, I state, I could not find the lamp shade aisle, and I am tired of seeming to be on a treasure hunt. Oh, I can get you some help, she states. No thanks, there are other stores who carry lamp shades, and don’t hide the location or aisle. Here’s a suggestion, why not place all the sale items on the end caps, or have blue lights shining on locations were the rebated items are stocked? it worked for kmart for awhile. Just need the loud speaker system turned on. Attention, attention, Menards shoppers, blue light special by the glowing blue light.

Menards Terre Haute IN Product Issue

Menards, Review of Patriot Lighting . Please choose another company than ewcc/China for you lighting products. The floor lamp we bought at Terre Haute Indiana Menards had such poor milling for the threads that it was impossible to put together. Perhaps American made??? This Chinese company is pathetic. FTC is investigating their pretense of American made.

Menards Customer Service Issue

Menards, Handicap ride arounds. Every other big box store has six or more ride arounds. You only have two. Menards should have more available.2 is absolutely not enough for the size of your store. I am a retired contractor. I will have.to take my business elsewhere If this does not change.
