Outback Steakhouse’s Role in the Casual Dining Industry

Outback Steakhouse is a major player in the casual dining sector, offering a menu that highlights steakhouse favorites and Australian-inspired dishes. The restaurant is renowned for its distinctive decor, generous portions, and a focus on high-quality ingredients, which contribute to its widespread appeal.

The Competitive Landscape of Steakhouse Dining and Outback’s Position

In the competitive steakhouse dining market, Outback Steakhouse faces challenges from both national chains and regional steakhouses. Nationally, it competes with brands like Texas Roadhouse, LongHorn Steakhouse, Logan’s, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Regionally, Outback contends with local steakhouses and upscale dining establishments that offer premium steak and seafood dishes. Despite these challenges, Outback maintains its market presence through its unique Australian theme, consistent quality, and casual dining experience.

Outback Steakhouse Disappointing

February 15, 2025

Outback Steakhouse, Very disappointed.I have been coming to Outback for many years and have been really happy. The last few times something has definitely changed. My last visit highlights this change. I ordered the filet with shrimp special. The picture on the menu showed several tail on shrimp large enough to be as tall as the loaded potato. When my order came out I thought they had sent me the wrong one. The filet has four shrimp roughly the size of a nickel each. I asked the waitress if maybe I had ordered incorrectly, pointing to the picture online. She told me that I had in fact ordered correctly and said she would send the manager over. Ten minutes later a gentleman arrived at the table with a soup cup with an additional four nickel sized shrimp. I showed him the picture and said I was surprised that this was the same thing. His response was that he will have to talk to the marketing department about it and walked off. As it turned out he was the proprietor of that location. His name was Mike Esposito. It was obvious that he couldn’t have cared less about the issue I was having. I mentioned this to the waitress as I was assuming he was having a bad day but she said he was like that everyday.

Outback Steakhouse Palm Harbor FL Experience

February 4, 2025

Outback Steakhouse, Bad experience turned good….Went to Outback Steakhouse in Palm Harbor, Florida last week. We were seated in about 20 minutes, but our table was right by the takeout door in the restaurant, and it was always chilly. We were pleasantly provided another table in a different room which was Much better. I have been waiting to try your bone-in ribeye for some time, but it was not to be. Steak arrived, and it was All Fat….inedible. A wonderful manager came by, Gayle Patafio, and without saying a word, recognized the problem and apologized. She offered to prepare another steak, which I originally declined, but she offered it to go, and I accepted. She came back with a bag of fresh food, along with another manager and our server. These 3 were wonderful representatives for your brand, and deserve recognition for going above and beyond. We will definitely be returning. Thanks

Outback Steakhouse Memphis TN Employee Issue

September 12, 2024

Outback Steakhouse, Fraudulent activity on my credit card beware. I went to Outback Steakhouse at 2255 Union Ave Memphis TN 38104.  I was there 9/10/24 at 8:35pm . I went inside and ordered two Porter house steaks to go.  A young lady took my order. She came back later a got my credit card and took it to the back and then brought it back with my receipt.  This was the only time my card was used by handing it to someone I have not used it anywhere else. That’s why I can pinpoint the place where my card was last before being compromised, because I haven’t used it anywhere else.  My card was charged at 8:43pm to pay for my order.  On the 9/11/24, I received a call from my bank asking if I was making purchases from Younique LLC.  I canceled my card and called to speak to the manager of Outback Steakhouse to alert her of fraudulent activity on my card .  If you have cameras, please take a closer look at your employees.

Outback HQ - Inconsistent Quality

December 6, 2023

We have been frequent customers at the Franklin Road outback in Lebanon, Tennessee. We spend a lot of money. Every time we go, and the quality has just gone down and down. We order to go, so we don’t even realize how bad the situation is till we get home. Not sure what is going on but the last three meals we purchased, which are usually on a Friday, were cooked well done. I always order medium rare, but that is not what I have gotten the last three or four times. Hard to get my husband to Return to your restaurant because he’s angry at how much money goes down the drain when we have a hard time eating a well-done steak or ribeye.

Outback Steakhouse Disappointing Order Issue

February 10, 2025

Outback Steakhouse, You ruined my Superbowl Sunday, and Monday after being sick. These wings were ordered with hot sauce, but had no hot sauce and were over-breaded, under-fried, and were nothing like real Kookaberra Wings. The Ranch sauce was bitter and hotter than room temp. My friend Nancy in AZ, gifted me by sending me your wings for the Superbowl. The carrot cake was good. The gallon of lemonade was oddly sent as 4 soft drinks? Who ever made those spoiled dry-ass over-breaded undercooked wings should be told to find a new career, Whoever swapped your normal ranch dressing to that sour rancid ranch dressing should be fired.
