Marcos Yorktown VA Disappointing

Marcos, What happened to Marcos ? I have been getting pizzas from Marco’s for over two years. The first time I had it was from a location in Richnomd Virginia, and I was so impressed with the quality, and the service, I wanted to find another location closer to where I live. It’;s been my experience, that over the years, all of the “Big pizza” places, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Ceasars, even Pappa Johns ( which I swore by ) all went down the corporate, bottom line, cheap way of doing business. It had gotten so bad, I would not order a pizza from any of the fore mentioned at any of their many locations. They all had the same problem, Very Low Quality, and, horrible customer service. Cutting portion size of product, and using cheap, low quality ingredients , and then adding the second kiss of death of hiring incompetent, lazy, blue haired people with bad attitudes, has become the norm for all of the above stores. But then, I was at someone’s house one evening, and they ordered pizza from Marcos. I was immediately sold !! It was the best pizza I’d had in years !!! From then on, whenever I was in Richmond, I wanted Marcos. Then later, I was pleased to find a Marcos pizza near me . Store # 2032 in Yorktown VA. I was ordering a pizza almost every time I was in the neighborhood, and was very impressed with that location as well !! Very good pizza, and very good, competent, customer service. Unfortunately, as I feared it would, as soon as I told all my friends haw great it was, it went bad. I ordered a pizza about a month ago, and I noticed that something was off, (with the product, and the server}, neither was the same as they were on my previous visits. I have worked in food, and beverage, and I know that there are those days when things can go south, but two times in a row, I recognize a problem when I see one. Number one, it was 5 pm, (dinner time), and this location had only one employee in the store. The employee was answering the phone, taking orders by phone, online, and in person. This one person was also making all of the orders received , at dinner time, We ordered 2 large pizzas. one with just sausage, the other with hamburger, onions, tomatoes, and, extra sauce. Soon after placing our order, we were informed that they were Out Of Hamburger. That was problem # 2 . Daily pars need to be kept in all food service businesses. ( There was a Food Lion Grocery right across the street, they could have had hamburger if someone had been on top of it. We settled to substitute with sausage, and got our pizzas at a price of $30 plus dollars and change, and went home. Upon arriving home, we were starving, and ready to enjoy our Marcos pizza however, what we were surprised to discover were two pizzas with so little sauce on them we couldn’t even tell they had any, one of them was supposed to have Extra Sauce, As Our Receipt Indicated That We Paid For, both of them had, not the delicious flavorful, crust that I loved so much, but instead , the most bland tasteless crust I’d ever had. Sauce, and crust, two very important ingredients on a pizza. These problems are due to bad management, and poor management decisions. I wanted to call the corporate office to speak with someone who oversees franchise standards, but was met with still another disappointment of being blown off by the automated answering service, the tell tale give away sign that the company really does not give a damn about its customers. I have been typing now for a very long time, and the longer I go, the more convinced I become that either no one of any consequence will ever bother to read it, let alone take any action to rectify the problem. I’m stopping now with one parting thought. Before I started this review, I took a few minutes so see what other people had shared about their experiences with Marcos Pizza, and after doing so , my one parting thought is ,,,, We all agree that it is disappointing!!

Marcos, Cold pizza! My pizza was left on my porch Cold!! He said he knocked 4 times and called me. I was not by my phone. Why not my doorbell??? Also Amanda the manager did not say sorry this happened. Never again will I order from Marcos!!

Really Zero Stars!!! I had a birthday party for my grandson last weekend and ordered $165 worth of pizza from Marco’s Pizza in Burlington, North Carolina. The pizza was to be delivered at 3pm. Got a call from Marco’s at 3:05pm that their driver called out. They assured me that a driver was on their way to the store to bring me the order. It arrived at 4:30 pm, with the party ending at 5pm. My guests were forced to eat cake for dinner and had pizza for dessert! When I called back I asked for a manager and was told she would be calling me once they were free. No one EVER called back. I had a party to clean up after and children to tend to. I finally called back today and asked to speak to the manager on duty. I was put on hold for a full 10 minutes. Once she came on, I explained what had happened and she was able to see what had transpired. She offered me a $30 credit, which I felt wasn’t enough, but accepted. I placed an order with her for delivery. The pizza arrived quickly, my son tipped the driver, and I had two incorrect pizzas. I called and explained to the young man that the order was incorrect and he said that he would send out two new pizzas. After getting off the phone I realized how late it was and my two little grandchildren needed to get to bed. So I immediately called back and asked the young man to please give me a credit instead. He told me he needed to ask the manager. She got on the phone and immediately said, without even greeting me, that she was going to send out ONE pizza, with an attitude in her voice! I told her that I had two incorrect pizzas and she spoke over me and said she was sending one. I said, ‘after you messed up a birthday party last week, now messing this order up, you’re only going to send ONE pie, and not give me a credit?’ She said, ‘you know what I’m not sending anything!’ and proceeded to hang up on me! Well, I called back and asked the young man who answered for the name of the manager or the name of the franchise owner, he hung up on me! I thought, this must be a mistake, he didn’t mean to hang up on me, so I called back again and he picked up the phone and immediately hung it up again! I have NEVER been treated that disrespectfully by a business in my 68 years! It’s Sunday night, I will be calling the corporate office in the morning. Thanks for reading my rant! I was in a good mood before I decided to call Marco’s Pizza in Burlington, North Carolina today! Awful experience two weekends in a row with this very shoddy service and disrespectful staff! Shame on you!! I have a VERY large family who order from this location. That’s about to change!
