The staff is hard to get in touch with and when you do speak to them, they offer conflicting information. I contacted Extra Space and received no response, so I left a message saying, “Can I get my rate reduced or a new unit? Jan 30 – I contacted Extra Space again and received no response. Jan 31 – I contacted Extra Space again, and Melanie responded, “I’m seeing what I can do for you. Please allow me just a couple of hours. Feb 3 – I contacted Extra Space again, and Melanie responded, “Those rates are only for new customers. But there is no way I can give you the rate you saw online for the rental you currently have. If you want to rent a whole new unit that’s your decision.” Feb 14 – I contacted Extra Space again, and Micah responded, “I can’t request any type of adjustment on the rate. I am positive the photo you shared with me is not this location. I can send a request to drop your rate to $67/month.”The advertisement does not say that the Web Rate of $18 is only for new customers or that the 5×10 rents for $75.60 or $67.00. Extra Space will not give me a unit for $18 As Advertised.

Extra Space Storage – Poor Management and Dangerous Conditions. The Extra Space Storage facility on University Blvd in Orlando has drastically declined since the previous manager left. Prices continue to rise, yet the facility remains unimproved. The exit gate has been broken for months, and the entrance gate is also malfunctioning. The app is useless, as it cannot detect the gate. Renters are forced to exit on foot to input the gate code, then rush back to their cars, hoping the gate doesn’t close before they can drive out. On one occasion, I was locked in until another renter arrived. The facility is filthy, and the bathroom is worse than those at gas stations. Reaching staff is nearly impossible, and customer service is the worst I’ve experienced in years of renting storage units. Despite notifying the replacement manager of my move-out date, it was never addressed, and I’m still being shown as active with a payment due. If you need storage in the UCF area, avoid Extra Space Storage on University Blvd. One star is generous—it deserves none.

Extra Space, This company took over Metro Storage. I get a call from Cameron telling me my payment is late. I go to the office to make my payment. Cameron can’t print my receipt because he’s out of ink & the email isn’t working. He tells me he refuses to sign a handwritten receipt because I’m not his boss & I won’t say please. He said he’s in charge of this office & he has no boss, He Is The Boss! Do Not Go Here.

Extra Space, The manager does not know how to manage, lacks business knowledge and is unable to administer and communicate professionally. Everytime there is an issue he argues instead of addressing it. The building does not have trash bins that can be found easily, parking is problematic when multiple customers are present, and there always seems to be contruction projects ongoing that make it inconvenient to access the units. The prices are extreme compared to other facilities and change without any notice.

Extra Space, Way too much money. You have raised my rent 3 times since I have moved into a unit, within 2 year’s. I’m 77 year’s old and with inflation it’s killing me. You raise rent because you can, not because you have to!!! That’s very sad!!! I’m getting out of my Extra Space unit as fast as I can!!!!!! Bad business practices !!!!
