Carmax Disappointing Experience

Carmax, Do not sell your car to Carmax. I sold the car to Carmax on April 3 if you don’t give you checks they give you bank drafts, but you have to deposit into your account. I don’t have an account that I can deposit it into because I don’t like dealing with banks too much so I endorse the check to somebody else that I was gonna buy a car from. Of course the money would be held for a few days due to the amount of the check however, on the day that I was supposed to be released, they told me that it would take another two weeks or so because the check was not being verified or validated. I was told that the bank draft is better than a check because it’s due to having guaranteed funds. I don’t understand why it’s not being verified or why it’s not being validated. I have been without a car since I sold mine I’m hoping to get this problem resolved today because this is ridiculous and unacceptable. If I knew it would take this long to get paid for giving them my car, would’ve went somewhere else to sell it. I’ve been trying to purchase another vehicle but can’t because the funds won’t clear so now I’m losing out on all ends of the spectrum. I’m so upset so I’m recommending anybody not to sell their car to Carmax because it definitely won’t be an easy process.

Carmax, Why don’t you have a loyalty program? Good day, I have purchased eight vehicles from Carmax. I am in the process of possibly purchasing car number nine. I think that deserves some type of discount or reward. A loyalty program would be a great customer appreciation and marketing boost.

Carmax Gainesville FL Disappointing

CarMax Gainesville, FL, If I could give them a negative rating, I would. I purchased a vehicle and noticed a cooling system smell right away. I was told it was fine, but since then, they have ignored their responsibility to address the issue. The location manager, Mikey, was not helpful and acted like a typical salesperson. I recommend staying away from this location if you can avoid it.

Carmax Buying Concerns

Carmax, I had a Toyota Venza shipped from another location in Virginia to the Short Pump Richmond VA. Carmax. I was told, and this information was confirmed by the online contact, that I could have a 24 hour test drive, time enough to take the car to my mechanic, and 7 days to decide on the purchase. This was incorrect. When I arrived at the dealership, my 3:00 appointment became a 3:25 appointment and I did not get into the car until 3:52. If I had been told the appointment time depended on availability of salesmen I would have planned for that. The test drive was fine, the car was great. I was given a 20 minute test drive. I sat down to get an out the door price with the salesman and asked about the 24 hour test drive. The salesman said he had read the notes from the online person I was texting, the first personal contact from Carmax I am assuming assigned to help me through the process, and the information was incorrect. He said several times he had written an email to this poorly trained person. He said that this Carmax did not offer 24 hours test drives, did not offer for the buyer to take to their mechanic and if I did not want to buy it today or plan to bring in a check from the bank after I thought about it overnight, then there was no sale and no other opportunity to look at the car. He apologized that I had different “expectations” due to the miscommunication from the Carmax person assigned to take me through the process via texts until I visited the store. Really? What kind of customer service is this? Misinformation, one employee badmouthing another employee and a 20 minute test drive? I will never buy from Carmax. I cannot imagine anyone would. Would you have faith in a company who left this kind of impression on a new buyer? Wow.

Carmax Bakersfield CA Disappointing

Carmax, Warranty Issues. I purchased a car from Carmax that turned out to have unfixable issues, and they failed to honor the warranty. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Carmax to anyone. Avoid the Bakersfield, CA location.
