Kendra Scott Miami Fl Disappointing Experience

December 8, 2024

Kendra Scott, I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that my daughter experienced at your Kendra Scott store located at Dadeland Mall in Miami, FL, on Saturday December 7 @ 6:13PM. This situation not only left her feeling humiliated and unwelcome but also reflects a level of ignorance and unprofessionalism that I hope your company would not tolerate. My daughter visited your store with her friend, who was shopping for a birthday gift for her mother. From the moment they entered, the staff’s behavior was both troubling and discriminatory. Despite her simply being there to accompany her friend, your employees repeatedly asked my daughter if she needed help, used their walkie-talkies to communicate about her responses, and stationed someone at the door as if she was a theft risk. Her friend, in an effort to quickly finish her shopping, also felt uncomfortable witnessing the blatant profiling. The experience was so upsetting that my daughter took the initiative to call the store that evening to report the incident to the manager, expressing her concerns about how she was treated. As a parent, it breaks my heart that my daughter had to endure this type of discrimination. She is a young woman of integrity who has never stolen a thing in her life, nor would she ever need to. That she was unfairly targeted and made to feel unwelcome simply because of her race is unacceptable. I am sharing this with you not only to express my disappointment but to urge Kendra Scott to take immediate action. This includes: 1. Investigating the behavior of the employees involved. 2. Providing training for all store staff to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. 3. Ensuring that your company takes steps to create an inclusive and respectful environment for all customers, regardless of their race or background. While my family and I will not be giving Kendra Scott our business after this experience, I sincerely hope you will take this as an opportunity to reflect on and improve your policies and practices. I would appreciate a response to confirm receipt of this email and to understand what steps your company will be taking to address this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Regina on behalf of my daughter Cierra
