  • Can someone explain to me why Macy's has coded sofa slipcovers as furniture so that you have to pay for White Glove Delivery Service. This service includes set-up however I was told that they will not put the slipcovers on my sofas. That being the case why do I have to pay for White Glove Delivery Service?

  • Merchandise on your site is not clearly marked with the name or number of the item.
Chanel cream eyeshadow item: Web ID: 8287211 is not given a shade name or number all of these eyeshadows have a name and a number this item has none. Who does your online merchandise set up. Horrible that the merchandise online is not shown properly I placed my order instead with Chanel so I knew I was purchasing the right shade because their site like other major department stores have the name and number listed on their products for sale.

  • When will Macy's corporate realize (and capitalize) on the advantage that the Macy's store in Monterey is the ONLY department store in the area other than Kohls in Marina? We moved from the bay area where my wife was an avid Macy's customer at the Stoneridge Mall store. Here she very rare buys at Macy's her comments is the store is under stocked and not stocked the same as Stoneridge. When we walk through Macy's there are parts of the store where dept merchandise has been removed and never replaced with new or a new department. Bedding looks like an after thought and appears no manager has been in to see the disarray.

Macy's ownership please wake up!!! This store could be a great performer!!

  • Macy's cheats its employees out of their rightfully earned wages. This is the third week we've had issues with getting our properly earned wages. There is never any explanation as to why or how it happens. Requests to get our wages to us are given the runaround. We're promised a hardship advance (necessary only because they didn't pay us what we'd earned) and then THAT is stalled (deliberately) until it's too late to do anything about it. They change their system over to something else & then blame that for the mistake, but this system wasn't in place when they cheated us out of our overtime pay and the new system didn't improve anything. Our family is starving because we're working for money we're not being paid. Macy's doesn't care and is now facing a major lawsuit of all the workers that are getting cheated. Our bills won't wait, so why do we have to wait for our fair compensation. For the record, Macy's, we have kept very good records of everything you've done to us. A class action suit is in the wind.

  • RE: Macy's in Boulder, Colorado. With the new Google Headquarters under continued construction next door, its impossible for Macy's customers to find regular customer parking. At Noon, I see many construction workers sitting in their cars/trucks eating their lunches. At quitting time, they leave. They DO NOT go into Macy's to shop!! I have watched. Macy's has a convenient 3-story parking lot usually empty, top floor, they could use. I ask where does Google Facilities Mgr, Tiffany Timmons park? How about OMNITECH Industries, and MGR Mich Bain of CBRE, I saw 3 trucks and have photos of Quality Interiors in your customer lot and Arapaho Fire protection Trucks. And your store is virtually empty of customers. Blame them for your store profits/sales down.

  • I shopped at Macy's Triangle mall location and the staff are so rude and the manager her name is Annie covers for them. I have had a few incidents that I let go but the last incident had to be reported. I see by the comments that apparently Macys could care less. Will not shop there anymore. Apparently their sales figures show that the way they run their stores is taking them to bankruptcy hail Amazon and their competitors.

  • I always enjoyed the Macy store. I live in arroyo grande ca and Macy's is the only department store we have here. It is located in Santa maria which isn't the best area but it is the only one we have. I live in San Luis Obispo County which is a higher income area. I went to the store in November and then the other day in December. The store was a mess. Clothes and products all over the floor (I took pictures). The people working there didn't seem to care and just did their normal work leaving everyone all over. the underware, nightgown, bra are was the worst.
there was things all over the floor and was a disgrace to your store. As I said it is the only department store in our area and it's really hard to appreciate the store when no one seems to care. I also notice in other areas the Macy's seem to have different items than we do here. I think it is because Santa Maria is a lower income area but has higher income area near by and we want to shop at Macys. I really would like to feel better about our store but it is getting harder all the time as it is a mess. I'd send pictures but there isn't anywhere to attache them

  • As a long-time Macy's customer, I have been dismayed to watch the "cheapening" of the Macy's brand over the past 15 years. Therefore, I was not surprised to hear that Macy's is closing stores. The reason your business is declining? With the exception of a few Macy's stores, your merchandise often lacks styles, uniqueness and quality. These qualities are what women look for. just an hour ago, I went to your Prairie Village store, hoping to but a dress and some shoes. I left empty handed. Why? The shoe selection was abysmal and I could find nothing that I would wear. The same was true of the dress selection. The Macy's buyers for Kansas City stores (and I've been to them all) seem to think that the Midwest buying public are all farm-fed housewives that want the routine and generic, and desire kitsch and whimsy in their clothes, not style and taste. I hope you take this comment seriously, because I talk with many women that have stopped trying to shop in Macy's for the reasons outlines above. Please bring the Macy's brand back in a way that represents style, quality and uniqueness.

  • Please tone down your Macy's catalog cover pages. They are underwear adds and definitely inappropriate…. referring to the one I just received August 20, 2016. If they do not make them more modest I will cancel my credit card and not shop at your store. Thanks.

  • My experience happened @ 1015am this morning at the Springfield Mall store in Springfield, Pa. I paid on my bill and preceded to buy small silver earrings. The cashier said loudly NOTHING ON SALE TODAY,I said there were signs showing the jewelry still on sale: 55% and adl 15% with macy's charge.I tried to explain this and show the cashier : CATHY. She started yelling at me that I was wrong but she could give me 60% off instead. I asked isn't 70% more than 60% and she said NO YOU ARE WRONG again. I said Are you supposed to be yelling and arguing at a customer. She replied yes should could BECAUSE I WAS WRONG. I allowed her to ring up the sale and politely asked : Who is your manager, she replied Steve. I asked if he was around: she said she did not know. My next question was who oversees the whole store: SHE DIRECTED ME TO THE EXECUIOTVE OFFICES UPSTASIRS WITH A SMIRK ON HER FACE. I confirmed her name and went directly upstairs to the Executive Offices and preceded to explain the story. I wasn't sure if the discount had been take off by the cashier. The receptionist nicely checked the receipt for me. She sat there in shock and her face turned crimson red. I FREQUENT THIS MACY'S OFTEN AND I HAVE NE VER HAD ANYONE YELL AT ME LIKE I AM A CHILD. The employee needs to be retrained on Macy's Code of Conduct especially customer service. Now, I have I informed others on social media to beware of this store location.

  • Where can I report an employee named Doreen Rene Acosta who works in your logistics department where items are returned and she has stolen several items since she has been working there not for a long time.

  • I have been trying to get an payment correction completed with Macy's since 02/09/2016. They stamped my check received on 1/26/2016. I was told that the sent my check back only to see that they cashed the check. I issued a CFPB complaint. A couple days later I receive a letter from the payment investigation group stating they had my check and need to know how to apply it. I faxed the information to the number provided only to be told by Macy's that the number on the paper was for CitiBank customer's only. I also mailed the copy of the information to the address given by customer service. The tracking shows that this documentation was delivered. I have been calling everyday since and keep getting the run around. I have been told that they don't know where my $225.59 was posted and I will just have to wait. I am getting so frustrated. This is preventing me from getting financing for my new home. I can't believe that this company is so disconnected with people that they don't try to give good customer service. I have read many horror stories about Macy's posting of payments. I took one lady six plus months to clear matters up. If anyone has a solution please let me know

  • MACYS HAS SCREW UP MY ACCOUNT RUNNING MY CARD THRU SO MANY TIMES IT BLOCKED, AND THEN BUT OUT FRAUD ON MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE OF THE CRAZY REPRESENTATIVE. I WILL NOT HAVE MY KIDS BOOTS FOR CHRISTMAS BECAUSE MY CARD IS BLOCK AND CAN'T USED IT. I HAVE CALLED FOR A WEEK TO GET MY ORDER, AND CAN'T. THOSE MANAGER SAID THEY WOULD CALLD ME BACK AND NEVER DID, AND THEY PROMISED TO SEND ME MY KIDS BOOTS AS A COURTESY AND I HAVE RECEIVED THEM IT HAS BEEN A WEEK. NO BOOTS FOR MY KIDS, I AM DISABLE AND CAN'T GET OUT TO SHOP HAVE TO DO IT ONLINE. THIS IS SAD!!!

  • I was the Macy's store in Harford Mall, Maryland exactly 2 weeks ago looking for gown for my son's upcoming wedding. Two wonderful ladies helped me and went above and beyond to make sure I found what I was looking for and complimented it with a scarf. I explained that I wanted both pieces and would back in two weeks to pick it up. The Customer Service lady told me she would hold both pieces in the back for me, took my name and phone number and told me she would call before putting it back on the rack. Well, here we are two weeks exactly later and no dress or scarf. As much as the deparen't customer service rep tried to help me, there was no dress. She got the manager for me who was a German accented short Caucasian woman who insinuated I was lying. Her associate would not have held the dress for me more than 24 hours and that was policy. I showed her the picture of the dress on my phone and how much the dress and scarf was to no avail. Needless to say, they wouldn't call the other associates, my dress is no longer in the store (new merchandise has arrived) and I left in tears with no dress for my son's wedding. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

  • Is it true that Macys directly funds Planned Parenthhood? If so, this will totally change my thought of this organization. If so, I will no longer be able to shop at your stores. I do not want my money that I use to purchase your merchandise to go to Planned Parenthood and the salaries of their staff that sell fetal tissue. Extremely disturbing at best…if true. I look forward to your reply. Thank you.

  • It is about time Macys start treating and respecting their employees like human beings
. Can you imagine someone I know worked their tail off for macys and fell short by 2 hours to qualify for benefits and no body can help you.Macys don't care about their workers its all about the$.They offered a debit card for dental and vision. Can you imagine that. We are all entitled to health care as human beings.Shame on you top brass at Macys!!!!!!!!

  • As an American I still believe in free speech. Shame on Macy's for going after a presidential candidate for having an opinion that does not mirror Macy's. It's not the opinion that matters it is our right to express our opinions and to hear other people's opinions. Macy is trying to deny that right to millions of Americans. Is this what we have to look forward to in America? Big, rich companies silencing presidential candidates. So, so, scary. I will protest these hateful actions by taking my business elsewhere..

  • I have credit due and Macy's online has asked me to hold and hung up on me twice. I don't know how to get a competent person to help me. I will not order again unless some English speaking person calls me to discuss this. I may not shop at Macy's at all after this horrible experience. The things is I still don't have my credit. They say they can't locate my order number after I give it to them 3 or 4 times. I think Macy's had given their customer support to a third party who is going to cost them a lot of business in the future.

  • I have been shopping at Macy's in Melbourne, Florida for many years and previously worked there is 2004. Just recently I was told I was not allowed to return any purchases since I had made too many returns. The returns I have made in no way cost the store money considering what I have spent there since January 2015. I have yet to see any policy in writing showing how much you can return. I will no longer shop at Macy's and have heard they are in bankruptcy. No wonder with all the negative comments here.

  • I ordered a pair of boots for my daughter for Christmas, they arrived Christmas eve.. they sent a size 5 I ordered size 8! I sent them back and advised Macy's to credit my account and to not charge me for the shipping since it was their error. I received an email confirmation on Jan 16 that they had received the boots and my account would be credited. They have not credited my account!!! Since January 16th I have made 6 calls to Macy's to get this mess straightened out! Each call I get passed around and assured that it will be taken care of, at least 2 times by supervisors. I have went ahead and paid for the boots to prevent late fees and such! Today I have been on hold for over 60 minutes!!!! I have had it! I plan of filing a complaint with corporate, with the BB, and I am also canceling my account with Macy's… with customer service like this, they don't need my business!

  • I WANT TO SAY THAT I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE, BUT THIS IS THE WORST CHECK OUT PRACTICE THAT I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. ON 2/6/15 SOMEONE MADE SOME UNAUTHORIZIED PURCHASES USING MY BANK CARD NUMBER. THE PERSON DIDN'T HAVE MY CARD,MY CARD NEVER LEFT MY POSSESION. THE PERSON CAME INTO MACY'S AT OLD ORCHARD ARMED WITH MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER,NOT THE ACTUAL CARD,JUST THE NUMBER. . THE PERSON WENT TO CHECK OUT BOUGHT A $500 GIFT CARD,AND SOME OTHER PURCHASES. THEY KEYED IN MY ACCOUNT NUMBER AND TRIED TO ENTER A PIN NUMBER. THE TRANSACTION WAS DECLINED!!!!!! DO YOU HEAR ME DECLINED!!!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK FOR ID THEN? ,THEN THE PERSON KEYED IN MY NUMBER AGAIN AS A CREDIT PURCHASE,AND THE TRANSACTION WENT THROUGH SUCCESSFULLY. HEY !!!!. MACY'S DO YOU EVEN ASK FOR IDENTIFICATION? OR YOU JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE IMPACT THIS CAN HAVE ON PEOPLE'S LIVES. HOW WAS SOMEONE ABLE TO WALTZ INTO A MACY'S WITH NO ID,AND MAKE A PURCHASE TOTALING ALMOST 1,000 AND YOU NOT ASK FOR ID????? I KNOW YOU'RE BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR,AND THAT COMES BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES, TO ASK FOR ID,NOT JUST TAKE THE CREDIT INFORMATION,AND ASSUME THAT THE PERSON THEY'RE HAVING CONTACT WITH IS INDEED THE PERSON IN WHICH THIS ACCOUNT BELONGS TO. MAKE SURE THAT THEY (CASHIERS)ASK FOR ID ON EACH,AND EVERY PURCHASE. IF YOU HAVE TO TRAIN THEM,OVER, AND OVER AGAIN DO IT!!!!,IT CERTAINLY BEARS REPEATING. NOT ONLY ASK FOR ID BUT TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE ID.ALSO TO THE CASHIER THAT CHECKED OUT THIS UNSCRUPULOUS INDIVIDUAL DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU TO ASK FOR ID?, AT THE VERY,LEAST TRY TO DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY???? AND FOR THOSE OTHER MERCHANTS OUT THERE THAT HAS THE PUBLIC'S TRUST, CAN YOU ALSO DO THE SAME? AND MAKE SURE YOUR CASHIERS ARE REQUESTING ID. i KNOW IDENTIFICATION CAN BE FRADULENT BUT AT LEAST MAKE THE ATTEMPT. WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS THE PERSON SOMEHOW OBTAINED MY CARD NUMBER ONLINE,BECAUSE I WAS MAKING AN ONLINE PURCHASE,AND WHILE I WAS MAKING MY ONLINE PURCHASE THAT PERSON STOLE MY INFO,AND WALKED INTO MACY'S IN OLD ORCHARD MALL IN SKOKIE, ILLINOIS,AND COMMITTED THIS CRIME. THEY DID'NT HAVE TIME TO MAKE ANY FAKE ID CARDS. MY ONLINE PURCHASE WAS TAKING PLACE ALMOST THE SAME TIME AS THE TRANSATION TOOK PLACE IN MACY'S. AND FOR ALL THOSE MACY EMPLOYEES(MANAGEMENT,CREDIT DEPT ETC), THAT I SPOKE TO TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE,AND MAKE YOU AWARE OF YOUR PRACTICES,YOU DIDN'T SEEM TO GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY PLIGHT, YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO GET ME OFF THE PHONE, SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE SOME MORE MONEY.I HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO YOU, AND I HOPE THAT IF IT DOES HAPPEN TO YOU,THAT YOU GET ON THE PHONE WITH SOMEONE THAT SHOWS YOU MORE COMPASSION,AND A WILLINGNESS TO ASSIST,THEN YOU DEMONSTRATED TO ME. I HOPE YOU GET SOME PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE. I WILL TELL ANYONE WHO LISTENS TO STOP SHOPPING AT MACY'S, UNLESS THEY MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR CHECKOUT PRACTICES. SIGNED VERY, VERY PISSED OFF,UPSET. DISAPPOINTED,AND NOW BROKE ****A FORMER MACY'S CUSTOMER*****.

  • I need a genuine advice. I purchased online from macy's store and used two credit card as one of the customer mentioned above but it is been more than 2 months that my cc a/c has not been credited. I did not pick up the item as I already bought from the store. I spoke to more than 5 customer rep. with macy's store and gift card. Till this time when I am typing, I have not received anything. so shall I claim dispute on the purchase I made in the store or send letter to Corporate with Carbon copy to any journalist so they can reveal what is the problem not crediting customer's account. Can I claim any additional charges which are completely hassles for me calling everytime for my own money. advice me guys.

  • While working at Macy's at Orchard Townsquare in Colorado, I tripped over a dolly which was left unattended on the selling floor, went to the ER, and was diagnosed with a broken elbow. I returned to light duty at Macy's but was unable to work 6 weeks at a seasonal job for Resource Plus. I filed for workmen's comp at Macys for the $810 that I was unable to earn at my seasonal job. The workmen's comp adjuster kept asking for more information regarding this seasonal job. First, it was how long I worked at the seasonal job. Then it was my hourly rate and hours missed. Then it was total earnings I missed and pay schedule. Then it was total earnings in the last 52 weeks. These were all separate requests which needed to be filled by the HR VP at Resource Plus via correspondence on letterhead sent via USPS. It has been a five month wait and then I receive a check for $533.98 with no explanation of why there is a discrepancy from the initial $810 I claimed. The wait was unacceptable; the constant trivial requests from the Macy’s adjuster was unacceptable; and the check is unacceptable. What do I have to do to be treated fairly by this company?

  • attempted to contact Charleston WV store during the for 2 days concerning an order during the operating hours, WAS NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON, FOR 2 DAYS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!! U LOST MY BUSINESS !!!!!

  • After watching the last couple of years of the Thanksgiving Day parade, I have to tell you I am disappointed in the TV coverage. What is a true piece of Americana has been transformed into a long-form commercial for NBC shows and stars, Broadway shows, and lip-syncing celebrities.

We saw very little of the balloons, floats and other units. But what annoys me the most is the coverage of the high school bands, college bands, and other independent bands marching in the parade.

The bands practically have to run into the staging area to perform for 30-60 seconds, while the lip-synchers performing to pre-recorded tracks get up to 3 minutes. In many cases, especially the slippery conditions yesterday, kids and adults are getting injured. I saw a couple of falls yesterday, and I know of at least two injuries in the Santa Claus fanfare unit, the Madison Scouts.

Unlike the paid lip-synching celebrities, the kids and adults in these scholastic and non-profit groups actually have to PAY for the privilege to perform. That means lots of fund raisers as well as out-of-pocket expenses for transportation, housing and food. Plus the arranging of the music, and hours and hours of rehearsal time.

I know members of the Madison Scouts came from all over the world to perform, including Europe and Asia.

Don't you think that kind of personal and financial investment deserves more respect, and airtime? And I need to reiterate the unsafe practice of having the performers, especially kids carrying 40-50 pounds of drums, run into the performance area, which were rather treacherous yesterday due to the weather.

You might want to review the parade coverage of the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena by local stations like KTLA in Los Angeles, and HGTV on cable. They do their coverage commercial free (except a few, and limited, promos of HGTV programming, and scrolling tickers at the bottom of the screen), and feature ALL of the units, progressing at a normal parade marching tempo.

I want the parade back! Please consider my comments above. There was a time CBS and ABC offered coverage in the LA market, but now the only option is NBC. I'd like to see more traditional parade coverage, and less commercials, promotions, and well-paid lip-synching.

    Redlands, CA

PS Some of those lip-synchers missed their cue to start!

  • I have been a customer of Macy's for 40 years, and a cardholder for a few years less than that. I have always done the bulk of my holiday shopping there, but since you have decided to make your employees work on Thanksgiving Day, instead of letting them enjoy it with their families, I will not set foot inside your store the entire week-end, and will do most of my shopping at Amazon or retailers who have chosen not to follow your model. I'm even considering for Xmas this year, giving you my cut-up credit card.

  • Macy's on-line customer service reps are the worst unqualified, unknowledgeable group of people that have ever had the misfortune to have ever ran across. A rep bythe name of Maria I'm still not understanding how she is still employed, I purchased a item that was $125 she messed up the order so bad went into my credit 4 unauthorized times because she didn't know what she was doing. My problem isn't so much that she didn't know, in which she should have..the problem is she proceeded as if she did, I kept asking for a supervisor which she refused to provide, held the phone just breathing and finally hanging up on me. After much effort and going through 3 additional reps that didn't have a clue on how to help me. The next day finally got what was suppose to be a specialist by the name of Luke who wasnt any better, he looked saw the errors, I gave him my bank name, supervisor name, fax number to credit my account of the $600 mistake. Luke lied didn't or could n't do as he should. Macys.com is the worst additional training and firing need to happen ASAP!

  • I just called the corporate office after trying to solve a problem with a woman in the Phillippines. I ended the call because she was hard to understand and I could tell that she really didn't know how to solve a problem. I cancelled my cc three years ago after being bombarded with flyers. Enough is enough. I'll stick with a good card and forget Macy's.

  • Macy's is a fraudulent company doing unlawful things. Twice in six months (the only times I shopped at Macy's) they didn't send me statements on time. Statements came a week after the due date with fees added to the account for a late payments. Both times I had to spend hours talking to different departments. Their representatives were lying, they were rude and gave me a wrong information. Their supervisor by the name of Alexander Lagamayo (col ID 6384) were especially creative – he told me that if I made a purchase in April and haven't received statement in May or June, I had to call them and ask: why the statement for my purchase were not received by me? It's like they are the only store I shop in. This is disgusting. Besides, I just found out that I have one Macy's card but two (2) accounts are associated with that card – each one with different due date! This is unbelievable. I shop at quite a few stores, have an A+ credit score and never am late for payments. But Macy's just drove me crazy. I will write to the Corporate Quarters, to the Better Business Bureau and to each and every internet page/services dealing with fraud. We all should not let Macy's do their tricks and cheat us of our money.

  • Why must Macy's use the American flag to get their point across in sales ?
Using a replica rolled up and hung around the neck of a headless/armless manikin in 2013' [ North brook ] store and 2014' [ St. Louis Store ] then today in the chicago tribune shown with a model wrapping herself in the flag – is unacceptable.
    This Memorial Day
let's all protest and not visit
    these pro left wingers…..
    Thank you.

  • BOB HENLE IS A LAZY DISHONEST COWARD ,AND SHOULD BE FIRED FROM DIRECTOR OF LOSS PREVENTION IN FLORIDA,HE HIRED A THIEF KNOWINGLY,JUST TO FILL THE POSITION,HE'S DIRTY,AND SO IS HIS BUDDY DAVID CUTHERALL…

  • sometimes I think the Under Cover Boss should just visit some of their stores in Southern CA. Not all persons placed in Supervisors/Managers positions are really qualified. Sometimes those in charge can treat some of their workers with high favor and overlook those who are really doing a good job, and want to move up. Think about it.

  • MACYS;
I AM AN EMPLOYEE IN CALIFORNIA. I ALSO HAVE A BACKGRUND IN MARKETING AND SALES. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE THROWN THEIR NEW RED CARD ACROSS MY COUNTER AND SAID THEY WOULD RATHER NOT SHOP AT MACYS IF THEY ARE DEALING WITH A SOCIALIZED STORE (IN SO MANY WORDS) .. THEY LIKE HAVING THE RECOGNITION OF BEING A BALCK CARD OR SILVER CARD HOLDER… THEY REALIZE THEY HAVE SPENT MORE AND ARE ANGRY THAT MACYS ARE NOT CONSIDERING THEM JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE!! IS MACYS PULLING A JCPENNYS ON THE PUBLIC???
I THINK THIS IS A TERRIBLE MARKETING MOVE AND WILL COST MACYS CUSTOMERS. PEOPLE LIKE THEIR DIFFERENCES AND PAY FOR THEM. WHAT IS WITH THE CHEAP RED CARDS…. AND HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR EMPLOYEES TO EXPLAIN THEM. SAYING THEY ARE STILL RECOGNIZED ON OUR COMPUTERS AS TOP NOTCH CLIENTS DOESN'T CUT IT! THIS IS NOT COMMON SENSE MARKETING !! BEST RETHINK THIS!!!

  • George B. Kenworthy February 13, 2014 at 3:29 P.M.

I tried 5 times to send my daughter-in-law a $50.00 Macy Gift Card. Guess what none of the 5 times were successful. I talked to Customer Relations 5 times as well. Somehow they could not get it straight. I bought a birthday card and sent my daughter-in-law a check for $50.00 and told her specifically not to buy anything at Macy's with the money. She has agreed. I think this is a shame. Someone somewhere needs to fix this problem. I will not shop at Macy's again, there are many alternatives. Have a nice day

  • I worked for Macy's on the busiest time of year during the holidays. I applied for more than 4 positions in Macy and II fair-oaks mall where i previously worked and i thought as previous employee i would be considered for a part time or a full time job. On Feb. 5, 2014, i have been been discriminated in a job interview by Macy's II, Fair Oax Mall, Shoe Dept Manager. She also lied to me in the information provided. She conducts improper and unfair competition process and i believe that Macy's managers do not comply with EEO. I did send my complain to Hr services who forwarded my email to a manager who already left Macy's II and no longer works there and that proves the unprofessional team and management in both Macy's stores. I request immediate investigation and corrective action since i have the required experience and qualifications needed for the job.

  • Does anyone at this company respond to complaints. I am very disappointed in the service and responses. The warehouse delivery team controls this company. Please respond to me. I want my bed before the summer as it has been since Nov. 9 and today is February 3. Deliver it tomorrow so that you do not turn around again.

  • I am sick and tired of receiving perfume saturated ads from Macy's in the mail and in ads in the newspaper. I NEVER read the ads or use the coupons; they're much too smelly. I throw them straight out onto the back porch trash. Sometimes the rest of my mail is saturated with these smells, too. Many people are allergic to these chemicals; I don't know why you can get away with sending such things through the US mail. Meanwhile, how do I stop this stuff from coming to my house?

  • My wife and I have been customers of Macys for over 35 years. It has been the icon of department stores. Fond memories of" The Miracle on 34th St.", but we had to leave the store the other night due to the loud and obnoxious music. The cashier stated "We just tune it out". I dont think RH would approve!

  • ATTN: Peter Sachse Today (12/9/13) I received my packet of Friends and Family discount coupons. The expiration date is 12/9/13 so I don't plan on sharing my friend coupons with my friends as they would only have a few hours after working to enjoy this discount. How about mailing them in time so my friends and family can use the discount?

  • I want to make one simple comment regarding Macy's. There was a time when going to Macy's (Bon Marche prior to that) was considered a treat and a luxury. Quality and ambiance were upmost, but no more. Macy's (at present) is no more than any other department store EXCEPT for the prices. People shop Macy's for the "supposed" image, you are fools. Almost everything sold is of very poor quality, shame on you Macy's. Bring back what it was from 50 years ago and I will come back.

  • Wow, not surprised to see all the comments about Macys.com. I will NEVER order anything online from them again. I placed an order on 11/23/13 as a gift, and it was supposed to be shipped on 11/26. It's now 12/7 and it hasn't shipped and I had to send another gift. The problem is, it's sitting there showing as an order, and they tell me they can't cancel it. They say if it ships, to refuse the package – well, I was sending as a gift, and how can I tell the recipient to refuse it – how tacky. I asked if they could ship it to me, and they said no. It's still not shipped, but they insist they cannot cancel. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau of Cincinnati and they are pursuing it. I should probably file with San Francisco if that's where the macys.com headquarters are, but we'll see what they say. NEVER NEVER NEVER again order on macys.com. The worst customer service, and they have all lied to me. One rep knew he couldn't handle it and "disconnected" me.

  • We purchased a Maytag Bravos washing machine(Model # MVWB300W) less than two years and the Drain motor has gone out. The cost to repair $397:00(this includes $99:95 for the Technician). We have purchased many Maytag products in the past and were happy with their performance. This Maytag washer is a total failure and disappointing. I will not spend that type of money to repair; will replace with another company. I will not choose Whirlpool either. I see Maytag and Whirlpool is one of the same.

  • How sad I went to a job interview for this company last month and the hiring manager told me he was going to put my application to the side and call me when the seasonal part time position opens and for orientation and training and he is giving me nothing but the runarounds wont return my calls I leave and the hr department is no help at all.. he has poor management skills… you should tell someone you want them to work for your company and then don't contact them that is very unprofessional, rude and by word of mouth when telling people my experience they wouldn't apply for your company or shop there and the store is to cluttered on all 3 levels of the store….

  • Opening on Thanksgiving Day. People are inundated with commercials, phone calls, advertising, etc. One day, just one day, they can have time with their families without commercialism, without having to go to work, but Macy's doesn't seem to care about that cherished value, do you? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Only out for the buck! You make me sick and I will never shop at your store again.

  • Macy's should be ashamed of it's self opening it's stores at 8:00pm on Thanksgiving. This is nothing but corporate greed. Give some respect to your employees that deserve to have the whole day off on thanksgiving. They work hard enough during the holidays as it is. SHAME ON MACY'S I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.

  • I used to work for Macys. Not only do they not back their customers they are told to get credits from customers who d not hve a credit card. They are to do this at least 4 times a week or more. They are told to lie to the customers. Whatever to get a customer to sign up for a card whether they tell them its a gift card, or a savings card, or a point card. They are told by managers I dont care what you say just sign them up. Push the sale an drive business up.

  • I am so glad to see all these posts of people being treated with such injustice at Macys. I too will boycot. My daughter was with a friend who shoplifted without my child's notice. My daughter was arrested for "being" with her… The friend confessed to security, police, and the court. I received a fine for $425. I paid it. They never explained the situation or contacted her father, who has joint custody. Just refused to do it and treated me like a criminal. Hope the fine lasts them longer than my patronage. Twice I had "security" personnel call me… very disrespectful. Yelling at me for refusing to pay? I paid because if I didn't they'd ruin my credit and charge me an arm and a leg anyway.

  • The worst July 4, 2013 celebration ever to hit the US by Macys. I was disgusted with the twits such as Taylor Swift, the Gomez girl et al who were there for their own benefit. The worst was that Usher character who had the fireworks according to the sound of his ill-tuned voice. What on earth possessed Macys to hire this slob I don't know. Must be the PC bug.

  • Can anyone clarify this for me: I received a mailer with like 6 credit-card sized coupons that ranged from 20% off entire purchase (exclusions listed on the back of the card), and $10 off purchases $50 or more, or something on this order. I read the 'exclusions' multiple times just so I was clear how I could or could not apply them. So I went shopping w/ my daughter and we approached the counter to purchase our (multiple) items. When I presented my 20% off coupon card, it was refused. Since I was paying with Visa, I was told that I could NOT use these coupons unless I made my purchase with a Macy's credit card. I said to the sales girl, "I read the coupon multiple times, and there is NOTHING on these coupons that say they can only be used with a Macy's credit card". The girl tells me that 'that's how it works at Macy's'. I was going to ask to speak with the manager but now my 16yo daughter is like totally mortified that I'm questioning the salesgirls (as 16yo girls usually are) and we had already waited in line for 25 minutes (yes, that's twenty five minutes with only 2 people ahead of us); we were running late and I thought to myself, 'Maybe I misread something on the coupon'. So when I get home, I reread the coupon 3 more times, and still nothing on them saying they could only be used with a Macy's credit card. I emailed the customer service department and get a response saying they were 'sorry' that I experienced frustration and referred me to another website that had a number that I needed to call to get my answers. I responded telling them that what the coupons represent to me, is false advertising. What a freakin bitter taste in my mouth about Macy's! Unfortunate for them, actually, because I will take my Visa credit card somewhere else and they will be most happy to accept my good credit. Thoughts anyone?

  • My father had surgery in Sept. He was hospitalized until he died. I was late paying a Macy's bill since I was out of town a lot of the time and beside myself with grief for my dying father. Macy's reported me to a credit bureau and my credit score dropped 100 points. I called Macy's credit department to ask that they reverse the bad credit report. I offered to send a copy of the death certificate. They refused. I have not had a late payment on a credit card bill before this for 30 years. I no longer shop at Macy's. The posts on this site convinced me all the more.

  • I will not be buying anything else from Macy's – EVER!! We ordered a sectional sofa in January. We had to wait until today (March 28) to get delivery. They delivered 2 left hand pieces instead of a right and a left hand piece. Now, we're being told that we will have to wait until sometime in May to get the right piece. Their customer service people and their warehouse people are less than helpful. They are unwilling to try to do anything to get us the right piece. Everyone we talk to has some excuse for why this can't be fixed right away. This will be the last thing I buy from Macy's. What happened to acknowledging an error was made and trying to fix is so that your customer is happy. I guess all they care about is the $$$ but they won't get anymore $$$ from us.

  • well , i order a jacket from Macy Santa Clarita,ca ,91390 ,the jacket arrived in a white dirty disgusting plastic bag ,no box ,no bag ,no wrapping ,the jacket dump in the bag period ,i can get a better wrapping from goodwill or any swatmeet . when i complained to Nicole, the manager , she got very condescending and told me that it is the way they send there product!!! it is the way they do cut shipping cost !!!, i say shame on macy`s to send a $130.00 special order jacket that way ,she replied well you did not pay for shipping ,right!!!
shame on the management ,and shame on Macy`s to treat your customer this ways! i will advice my friends ,family and co worker not to buy from them ,about me macy you can kiss my a@#$ good buy.
ps:i hope you go out of bussiness soon!

  • Store Manager at Neshaminy Mall in PA Ellan is unprofessional and never returned my call when I commented about a rude employee (Manager Nini).

  • I was just at a Macys in PA, Neshaminy Mall. I was absolutely appalled with the "getto" Manager Nini's customer service. She was absolutely rude and disrespectful! Ive been a loyal customer for over 20yrs and never experienced service as such. I will no longer be going to this location. I also wrote a comment on the stores web page and Store Manager Ellan never contacted me. What is Macys coming to? A

  • I believe its pure discrimination when you price things in your stores differently because you may be larger I am a size 14 and proud of it although there is a suit I want at Chesapeake Square Chesapeake Va which sells twenty five dollars more because I am not a size 10 or 12 You are discriminating to say the least

  • Hello!

My name is Paige Driver and I'm 17 years old. I would like to congratulate you on your million dollar wish fund. I'm happy that it was donated to the children in greatly need but the I felt that the concept of it was misleading. I had the impression that if I wrote a letter to Santa then someone would pick something off the list and buy it for me. I'm not the poorest child or either am I the richest. Being a senior in high school I asked for a tablet or a laptop because It's hard to do school work and college applications without one. It broke my heart to not get what I asked for. My mom can't afford stuff that I want because she's not working and is under government benefits. It's going to be hard to have a successful college life without a laptop or tablet. I'm not doing this letter to beg for a computer or mislead you about anything, I just want to get my heart fix. This Christmas I told my mom to keep the little money she had because I thought I was going to get my present from Macy's. I woke up this Christmas morning sad because I didn't have what I asked for. But I quickly got over it because there's children out there who didn't get anything for Christmas just like me. I hope my broken heart can be fixed and someone really read this letter. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

  • ShirleyC What I observed in my son's short employment was employee treatment akin to Walmart. I told my son to always say yes to his Supv, so he's worked 12 hr days & with little notice. Also scheduling & management from the first preinterview contact with the store was surreal. At his first interview, the woman who scheduled him didnt come to work. When she scheduled him again, she said she was busy & to return at a certain time. When he did, she kept him waiting 2 more hours. Since then his scheduling from the get go was erratic & unreliable. I think they are profiling for foreign birth, young, male, single, assets without income etc, so he's well out of it but imo Security needs another State AG investigation. Looking for employee feedback.

  • has any employee had the experience recently
of being called in by security and asked profiling questions such as where were you born – appl shows birth abroad-riends & family & other income & assets questions, etc, and then taken on to a series of other questions – giving discounts to family/friends, then terminated? He lived in another state so long he has no local friends; we his family aren't Macy's shoppers; our few purchases were tge public price thru other employees. This illegal questioning without miranda warnings & false imprisonment
just happened to my disabled son who was pressured to sign a legal document before he could leave the office

  • I called Macy's for a problem with MACYS.com,,I was sent to Malasia..A Black Friday sale item $225 off was paid for in full, was supposed to be shipped,,never sent…Macy's cancelled the order stateing that the item is no longer available,,,I checked,,it is still available,,,@ a price of $225 more than I paid,,but they cancelled my order paid for in full at the sale price

  • Dear Macy's, I am an avid shopper of Macy's stores. But, I live in Fort Greene Brooklyn, NY and it is appalling to shop at the Fulton mall Macy's in downtown Brooklyn. As you enter the the first thing is jewelry counters which are always FILTY. Not just dusty, but filty. I have lived in this area for 13 years and it is getting worse. Now that it's Christmas Holiday approaching and I stopped in there first instead of heading to 34th St again Horrible. When
you look through the glass display cases that the jewelry is on it is in bad condition and the same dust have moved only grown. As much as I love my neighborhood I Hate going into this Macy's. This should not be the case. Even if one is window shopping in any neighborhood this should be a pleasure not a hinderance. Please do something. The Barclay center in now down the street and this is not a good way to show off our neighborhood.

What is happening to 34th St Macy's should be the same up keep at this one as well.

    Althea Gaskin Feurich

  • I have placed an order and was notified that the order was cancelled due to they could not verify my bank info. After this was cancelled I was to get the same price if I called back with a different type of payment with in 10 days. So I did so after 3 hours on the phone I was finally got someone who could place the order. Two days later I logged on to see the status of the order and it was not there. I called yet again and was informed that the ordered had been cancelled due to they could not verify the bank info. They still had not contacted me to inform me that the order had been cancelled and I they had still charged my card. After calling 3 times I had to make them stay on the phone while the bank received the fax stating they had cancelled the order and to apply the money back to the card. After all this I was hung up on several times as well. I spent more than 9 hours trying to place a order for a Christmas gift. And people wonder why nobody like Christmas. I am not stopping here. I am contacting the Corporate office as well as the Better Business Bureau.

  • I just had an email from someone in customer service at Macy's. Lots of apologies now they have finally found out the truth and they have promised to credit my Visa card for the full amount for both items. Intention was to credit my card for one item and send me a gift card for the higher amount item, This was even after I told them I wanted credit back to my card as I will definately not be shopping with Macy's ever again.
Could have saved all this aggrevation by looking into this matter sooner. Would certainly help also if they hired intelligent people.

  • Appears that many people are having trouble with the rocket scientists employed by Macy's. I can also inform that I am not done with this until I get reimbursed for the two items returned. If you have a thief working for you who is pilfering items from returns then that is your business. When it rips off honest customers then it is time to clean house.
I am thoroughly disgusted with Macy's and am presently working on taking this much further.

  • I recently made my first purchase at Macy's. I can honestly say I will never shop with this outfit again. When my order arrived one of the items was the wrong colour, I ordered it in red and it came in a pukey yellow colour. Another of the items was the wrong size and was absolutely useless to me. The last item was a dress which was the right colour and actually the right size. I kept the dress but returned the other two pieces of garbage for a refund. I now get an email from Macy's telling me that they only received one item in the return package. They were sent back in the same FedEx package along with the invoice, Order ect. Now after complaining I get emails from rocket scientists working at Macy's telling me it is all my fault that they only had one item returned and they are only refunding for the item which was the wrong colour. I will never shop Macy's again.

  • Dear Macy's I'm very disappointed in your Human Resource employees. I was interviewed for many positions, except for Commission Sales because I have no experience in that field. At the interview your employee Iris (downtown Minneapolis) told me since I don't have experience in Commission Sales I should apply next year. I thanked her & turned away politely and thought why would she call me for an interview for sales when I put in for other positions? So I sent her a thank you letter asking her what I have I done wrong in the interview for me not to be hired (unsure if she received it), so I called her and she told me I did great on the interview, but they didn't have any positions at all available since last week. I finally asked her well why was I even called for an interview. She really couldn't explain that. I'm really disappointed about this.

  • HHorrible horrible horrible customer service…..
I was a faithful Macys shopper until today!
If you give your email address for a receipt there is no way to update the email address. The sales associate cannot change the option to give you a copy of the purchase.
Been calling for 1 week. Waste of energy and time.

  • Very upset with how my local Macy's has been treating me. Hired around the beginning of September (2012) as a part-time temp I have only been scheduled approximately 25 hours. The past two weeks and soon to be third week, I have been scheduled absolutely no days. They are still hiring more workers, even in the department I was hired on for. This is absolutely ridiculous and I am outraged. My supervisor also likes to play favorites with race and gender, which is not right! Also, upon going into the office to speak to my supervisor, or anyone on duty, I often get dirty looks and am sneered at. I feel that they are purposely angering me to the point of quitting.

  • Very mad a macy's customer no service today 10/24/12 BEEN WITH MACY'S FOR SOME TIME NEVER NEVER BEEN LAST ON MY PAYMENT. SO I ONE DAY LATE SENDING OFF MY PAYMENT AND I AM GETTING ALL KINDS OF PHONE CALL'S. SO I CALLED CUMTOMER NO SERVICE AND SPEAK TO DERICK SO HE SAY FROM OVERSEAS HE SOUND LIKE. I TRY TO TELL HIM TO POST THAT I MAILED MY PAYMENT ON 10/25/12 IT WAS DUE 10/24/12 NOTE ON MY ACCOUNT. HE GOES ON TO TRY TO TELL ME WHY DIDN'T YOU SEND MORE, YOU KNOW I HAD TO TELL HIM A THING OR TWO ASK TO SPEAK TO HIS SUPERVISOR OF COURSE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I AM NOT DONE WITH THIS. WILL BE REPORTING THIS COMPANY TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND TO MACYS HEADQUATERS. VERY MAD

  • I was at the Macy's to talk to them about a late fee that showed up on my account. They put me on the phone in the middle of a sales floor to talk to them about the problem that I was having. So there I stood on the sales floor giving a person all my information including social security number drivers license and anyone around me at the time like shoppers and such could listen to me. I was on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get a late fee removed on the phone on the sales floor. But all above are right and I really agree they sure need to clean up their act.

  • I tried purchasing a Calvin Klein jacket advertized in your sale catelog. It was not available in any store, could not be pulled up on the computers, and I then tried to order online with no success. Upon calling I was told the item was backordered and would not be available until December 18. I asked if I could place at order at the advertised price but Chanel (the person I spoke with) did not know. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told there was no one was availabl
e (on a Saturday afternoon) but someone would get back to me. Guess what – no return phone call. Isn't advertising something not available unethical???

  • I just received a delivery from Macy's not an hour ago from the furniture department. The box spring is too high so I called my sales representative to ask that it be replaced with a smaller box spring. He informed me that CUSTOMER SERVICE told him that they will replace it but they will charge me 15% + $70 to replace it. I just got this box spring an hour ago!! THANK YOU MACY'S YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!! and I will tell everyone about this experience!

  • I am writing to share my utter dispute on Macys for already displaying Christmas trees, decorations, & the like. As a life-long Christian & American I find it a total lack if respect for the Holiday & my religious beliefs. I now understand why other countries & religions shake their heads at us as Americans. We have ni respect to the order of things…ourt flag, our troops practices, & each other. Why is is you don't have 4th of July items for sale in February? Or Veteran's day in April, or Chanukkah on August? …Because it's inappropriate! As a result if your poor odecision to literally broadcast Christmas in September, I will be cancelling my NYV Macys card on Monday & not ship on your stores until after New Years day! I have many friends who will follow along.

  • I don't like Macy- try not to buy from them. If you don't receive your statements due to mail issues or the apt n. was not written, thus the mail never arrived.
For a misery of $36my credit is ruined.
They send the notice to Credit recovery ACB-
No matter how many times you explained you didn't receive any notice, mail was not received, they don't listen…
If they RUIN my credit, we have to RUIN thier credit and not buy from them…
    Thanks

  • I JUST BOUGHT SOME SHIRTS AT MACY WHEN I GOT THEM HOME THEY DID NOT FIT MADE IN CHINA OR VN ETC.THE BUYERS NEED TO BUY MORE SHIRTS MADE IN AMERICA THEY DO FIT…

  • I previously bought a Covengton bedroom 3pc set. I love the set. Now I need to buy the 2nd Nightstand; the Nightstand is DISCONTINUED in Arizona where I live. I was told by the customer reps that Macy does not ship state to state even though they may have the Nightstand in their inventory. My question is : HOW DO I ORDER THE NIGHTSTAND and have it SHIPPED TO ME IN ARIZONA!!! It makes no sense, that I have to buy the Nightstand and find and pay a SEPARATE SHIPPING COMPANY to SHIP TO ME in ARIZONA. I AM FRUSTRATED!!!!

    Gloria

  • Strange how there are an extensive amount of spelling and grammatical mistakes in the majority of negative comments posted! Frustration or illiteracy? If you're going to complain, and want to be taken seriously, get it right please!

P.S. For the people who are upset by the 'anorexic' advertising? Look in any store, be it a department or specialized clothing store, you will see identical marketing! Macy's is no different from any other store, all of which are trying to entice customers to buy of course. I am not a Macy's employee.

  • Just wanted to say thank you to the macys customer service in Ohio for fixing an overcharge on my credit card thanks guys i love you.

  • san diego ca.downtown macys first floor security needs a reality check i was arrested for shoplifting while looking for a bathroom saturday

  • I'am shocked that macys tysons galleria in tysons corner virginia, is still employing PAMELA LYNN CAMPEN, as a loss prevention specialist, when she goes out on her breaks and smokes dope in her car, then comes back in the store and profiles customers…….

  • I'am not shock by the customer service at Macy's, I too return an item back to Macy's perfume dept. we'll i tryed to return it, but i couldn't because come to fine out it was a display item that was sold to me, i can't began to explaine how Embarrass i was in front of other customers, knowning that i purchased this item with my cridet card, and NOONE took the time to verifie my complaint throught my account, to see if this item was purchase. after that incident, i went back to some DONNA KARAN PERFUME….. sprayed it on me , and it had NO smell at all. i return it back to the dept store to see if i was smelling the perfume correctly, unfortunately the person that sold to me was there. he observe the same thing,i express to him that i was very dissatisfied with exsperience that for $85.00 i feel like i brought a small bottle of water, in in a perfume bottle. or anyone else have have experienced this before. or who can we contact corcerning this problem. I'LL like to THANK all the ones before me with your comments i thought that i was the only with a complaint at MACY'S but from all the comments i read MACY'S has some real problems.

  • DON'T WORK AT MACY'S!!!
I was hired at a Macy's store in MN during the holiday months in the fine china and crystal. At first I loved it! I got lots of hours, was never bored, and learned a lot of new things quick. After the holiday season things obviously died down a bit. Come mid January I was being scheduled less and less. I couldn't even find any hours to pick up online even though I checked daily. The whole month of February I barely worked three hours a week. In march or april (I can't remember which) they finally offered me what they called and "options 5" position where I would get a max of 8 hours a week scheduled to me and I could still pick up other shifts from online. I got a second job as a debt collector in march as well from 8am-1pm. I told my manager and changed my availability online so I could work both jobs. For the past few months macy's has been scheduling me to work during my other job. I've talked to people four times about this. Why in the world would I skip my solid day job where I earn ok money to be at a job for low pay. So I've been calling in to macys on days when they do this to me. The other day my manger calls to tell me that I'm up for termination bc I havent been to work in about a month and that I've also used most my sick days. Yes they have been taking my sick days for the days I could come to work when they scheduled me during my other job. Because of their error in scheduling me they are considdering laying me off? Its total bull! I wish I would've known about this site before I ever applied to Macy's bc I wouldn't have applied. DO NOT WORK AT MACYS! They don't care about anyone but their selves.

  • Didn't anyone check spelling on your recent promotion or perhaps they did and you have hired all idiots. Brasil is he Portuguese for BRAZIL and since we are in America, you are selling to Americas, on American television get with the program and change it to BRAZIL. I a embarrassed for you and ashamed of the "dumbing down" of American education that is responsible for this situatiion.
Nora Mohr Houston Texas I admit I do not understand what you want for a profile (I know my limitations) I have identified myself withing this comment so I will chose anonymous.

  • SHE BASICALLY CALLED ME A THIEF AND I MY NAME AND INFORMATION WOULD BE ENTERED CYBERSPACE THAT I DID SOMETHING WRONG. As you can tell, I’m kind of a fanatic about customer service. As a result, when I encounter what I perceive to be bad customer service, I’m vocal about it. What concerns me is the growing number of people who react negatively when I point out bad customer service. Many of them say things that basically amount to “that’s what the stupid customers get for being so stupid and stupidly calling with their stupid complaints!” In one way, we’re getting exactly what we deserve. For far too long, we’ve been tolerating the decline of customer service, and that’s led to a generation of people who think that all the fuss over expecting good customer service is just an “old people thing”. It’s a problem that I refuse to contribute to; I don’t, under any circumstances, tolerate bad service. I’m going to continue to raise a fuss. Let me explain what I said to Jeanae in reference to black on black crime. We as African American people will go into a store or into your store and we are treated so nasty by other African American people. But, they will in turn yes sir or no sir, a person of another persuasion. There attitudes towards each other can’t be explained in words. IN CLOSING, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO YOUR STORE OR EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM MACY’S AFTER BEING CALLED A THIEF. REMEMBER WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST ADVERTISEMENT. I AM GOING TO SHOUT FROM THE MOUTAIN TOP WHAT I EXPERIENCED TODAY.

    • Behind you 100%. Macy's Customer service is non existant. Talk about an oxymoron. Customers and service do not go together at Macy's. I too have been ripped off. I will be taking it all the way to get satisfaction. I do not like being robbed.

  • I have done it again. Today, I went to that Macy’s store located in center city Philadelphia, PA. I thought I was going to have a pleasant shopping trip purchasing items for my son’s birthday tomorrow as well as exchanging an item that my children purchased for my birthday January 2012. My four children chipped in and bought me Michael Kors Grayson Large Jet Set Monogram Satchel. With the urging of my doctor she suggested I return the bag due to bad quality. I explained to her the kids could not locate the receipt for the bag. She said she returned hers without receipt or problem, because they are aware of the issues with the bag. I called Michael Kors’ customer service and they verified that they experienced issues with this bag. I was told I could send the bag to them or go to the store were the bag was purchased I’m increasingly disturbed…OK, appalled would be a better word…every time I try to patronize this Macy’s store there I experience something horrific. Before, beginning my shopping I thought I would exchange the bag. I went to the pocketbook department and explained my situation to her. Not having the authority to whatever needed to be done she called the Manager Jeanae (not sure if spelling is correct) This is where the situation changes drastically. I again explain the situation to Jeanae and was told that there was nothing she could do to assist me. Her main reason for this “she could not verify this was a Macy’s product. I then showed Jeanae an email from Michael Kors to verify what I was explaining to her. She then changed her mind and now she is going to exchange the pocketbook. The entire time that Jeanae was interacting with me she said some horrible things in reference to me. The one that prompted me to write this letter is Jeanae she needed my personal Identification to do the return. She literally wrote my information down on a separate piece of paper (name, driver license number, date of birth, and address) THEN SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE MY NAME TO SECURITY TO MAKE SURE I NEVER EXCHANGE ANYTHING IN MACY’S EVER AGAIN. I was so disturbed at this point that I that I explained to her I have my own non-profit business called Safe Haven Re-Entry Program which works with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and I am not trying to get over for a three hundred dollar pocketbook. I work with women who have a history of retail theft – teaching them criminal compulsive behaviors. So, why would I do something illegal? What she said disturbed me so badly that I could not compose my thoughts about what I should do next. I left your store and had to stand outside for approximately 5 minutes before I could move.

  • I had applied to Macy's twice for two different positions. I received a email to be interviewed for both at different locations. I'm college educated have worked in retail at their sister store Bloomingdales and had a great work record. On two both occasions I knew I was qualified if not overly. I did not make it to a second interview. One interviewer never asked me any questions that most interviewers do. I believe they have a quota to fill for minorities to say they interviewed them but don't hire them. I'm now seeking a laywer.

  • It is a theft that a company as big as Macy's with thousands and thousands of employees have insurance so expensive, usually for groups of company the policy should be much cheaper for employees, I feel so bad to know the reality of company with names like Macy's do not help their own employees knowing the misery they earn. Thanks to Macy's employees will continue making millions a year no matter how many people have to trample.

  • I had to call customer service concerning my account and found out that Macys out source their customer service to India. All american women that shop at Macys should decide on one day a month to stop their shopping at a store that does not respect the unemployed in this country and gives jobs to either indian or pakistanis. WE have actually started an email that will circulate through the US to organize a boycott against Macys.

  • I applied for the open position beauty advisor in Macy's store (Esplanade mall, Kenner, LA) last week. I was scheduled for the interview on May 21, 2012 at 5:00 pm.
Today, I was interviewed by Mrs. XX since the manager of the beauty department was “in the lunch” (as I was told, exactly in the time of the lunch). I explained very honestly that I am disabled person but willing to work, extremely skilled in beauty, cosmetics and fragrances holding several certifications in this field. I answered very professionally all questions that I was asked on the interview.
As Mrs. XX was not able to make the final decision, she left the interview to ask the beauty manager for the final consultation. She has returned back and stated that Macy’s DOES NOT have (currently) any open position.
I was disappointed since I was officially scheduled for this interview, several times contacted as a reminder for the interview with the option of rescheduling etc, etc. I kindly protested as the position was advertised on the Macy’s job website SPECIFICALLY for the Macy’s store at Esplanade mall, Kenner, LA.
I spent my time for the interview totally useless, I was mistreated and disrespectfully rejected for no reason. If my disability is the reason, we will investigate even this option soon and take legal action against this mistreatment and disrespect!
This is the way how Macy's support diversity!!!

  • My name is Luis Pedroso from the Philippines. I just came from the US for vacation and tour (April 12-May13, 2012) and many times we shopped at Macy's. I have a request that I don't know if this is the way to do it. My mother-in-law worked for Macy's sometime 1962 or 1963 she is 87 years old now. She was not able to come with us this last trip but she had requested us to get a Certificate of Employment from Macys. I don't know if that is still possible but it would surely make her very happy. Her name is PURIFICACION NONATO. Please help me. Thank you.

  • I think it's time to start a twitter movement against Macy's to get their attention similar to the one started by the young lady protesting Bank of America. I too was a loyal Macy's customer who paid her bill in full every month using an automatic debit from my checking account. Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying furniture under their promotional program '1 year no interst'. After assuring me this was a separate account that would not be paid from my checking account – Macy's performed an unauthorized deduction from my checking account for the entire amount of the furniture $2000!! They refused to put the money back even after telling me they needed a letter from my bank showing that the money was deducted and I provided it.

Now I have contacted an attorney and I am contacting the attorney general's office since learning that this is an illegal withdrawal.

I have since canceled my card and will never ever shop at Macy's again!

  • I paid my Macys account in Jan 2012. When I made the late payment and paid the account, one would assume the late fee would be included. Here it is April and Macys presents me a bill for $46.28. I called to explain that I had not used the account since I paid it off and therefore there must be an error. I was told by the Macys rep the amount is a late charge!!! I said, "you mean you are billing me in April for a late charge in January on an account that I paid off in full!!!" The Macy's representative told me, " yes, because when I paid it it was late". And again I said, " I know which is why one would assume the late charge was included, and if was not one would have assumed your rep would have explained that at the time of the payment". So…I paid your late fee since my hands ard tied and because I am in the process of home searching and do not need a late payment on my record. But I did have my account CLOSED AND WILL BE SURE TO TELL ALL MY FRIENDS THIS STORY!! Because I feel since I paid my account off Macys is just looking for another income stream!!!!! Adrienne M. Nurse (will never be a Macys cardholder again)

  • I am in shock by the customer service that my husband and I received from the furniture department from Macy's. We bought a beautiful couch from the Macy's in San Jose, California on January 1st- we were told that it would be delivered in about 3 weeks….. Today is April 4th, and we are still waiting. Besides the fact that it is absolutely ridiculous that we have been waiting 4 months for our product….. What is even more disconcerting is the way we have been treated from the customer service department- from the rep's that answer the phone all the way up to the supervisor.
I feel like I don't know where to begin- and i dont know where to go for help. All I know is that I was just talked to in the most rude and demeaning way, by the Supervisor of Macys- and I can tell you she did not even let me speak. I walked in to her, and her co worker being very rude to my husband – and when I came to intervin she told me that we were wasting her time and was trying to hurry me off the phone. Please do keep in mind- all we were trying to do was discuss the delivery of the couch we had been waiting on for 4 months!!!!
I won't bother you all with the details- but, please- how can I get in touch with some one within this company to discuss the situation that we are having. I realized today, talking with the manager or supervisor was not the answer- as I have NEVER been spoken to in that way- especially by a supervisor for a major company…. And all over a product we purchased from them- all we are looking for is help—– and I'm so sad to say, but Macy's is not the place to go for customer service. I am even more sad to say- I never want to shop with them again. Shame on you Macy's!
Again- if anyone knows how to to get intouch with someone within the company that can help with this terrible disservice- please let me know.
Good luck to the rest of you that keep shopping with Macy's…..

  • Dear Macy's
I have been a customer for over 30 years. As of today I will no longer shop at Macy's. I will no longer use my Macy's Credit card. Until you stop advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show, we are no longer friends.

  • I have been a Macy's "on call" support employee for over a year. In that time they have hired at least 5 other people of whom left within 3-4 months . They had no work ethic and showed up if and when they felt like it. Each time one was hired the available hours were cut so that I shared equally with the new hires. Now after proving myself a dependable worker with a terrific work ethic they have hired 6 more people to share the hours of 2 . Now instead of working an average of 12-16 hours a week I will only get 4-8. I believe this is so Macy's can say they are hiring. I do not think this even qualifies as a job when you only get minimum wage with no raises and no chance to be regular part time or full time. You cannot even supplement your income for making less than $50 a week.

  • My brother was Macy's employee for 30 years and recently passed away. I called HR to file a claim for benefits and they said someone will call you in 48 hours. 6 days later with no call, I called again and was told that was incorrect that it takes 2-3 weeks to return a call because they are a big corporation and are really busy, but they would have someone call the next day. Didn't happen. Also, there was not one iota of a condolence sent. Obviously their employees are of no value. Big corporate greed. Never shopping there again.

  • Kronos and Unicru personality profile assessment software tools (used, instead of an interview, in the employment application process) are destroying lives; they are a tactic of the strategy toward progressive enslavement of human beings.

  • Ok, well if Elle is a socialist, I guess we will not buy her Capitalist Clothing that she sells in CAPITALIST USA. Try and sell you crap in CUBA.
