  • I agree with the writer on the June 22, 2021 post. I have the same problem. My claim adjuster and his manager are ignoring my calls and emails and I have had the claim in since January. How long does it take to make an inventory assessment of items that was damaged and send funds to repair or replace the items. When the company was ASI, i did not have a problem when I had to place a claim and since they have merged or been bought out by progressive, the claim adjusters feel that it is their money paying the claim and put you at their mercy. I have tried to call the corporate office but keep getting transferred and discounted from many representatives. This has been a nightmare.

  • I wish I had seen these commentaries sooner. Every negative aspect shown in them I have experienced. Had a hit & run accident a month ago where my 3 day old, 226 mi. GMC Terrain got totaled. All month ended talking to inept/just did not care representatives (3). I was given the run around, questions not being answered, difficulty getting to speak to a supervisor, was never able to contact the head supervisor, given different phone numbers, transfered to Tucson, AZ who would send me back to Phoenix representative, and same over and over. They would not give me the person to contact at their storage yard nor send me requested picture. Ohio office would just transfer me back to representative and could not ever speak to a real higher up. Knowing I lived in a rural area with no family or friends and needed to settle fast, they did not care. Not one of the agents was sympathetic (knowing I was suffering from PTS from accident and just helped add more stress. Tomorrow would be a complete month and just today I got a copy of a long requested valuation since their offer was less than what the car is worth and also finally got the yards phone number to get a picture of the car. They want me to sign off as "sold" to them but not indicating the difference of what I paid ($10,769 extra from lien amount) In the meantime, my payment to lien holder is due in 13 days.
    I do not want to release the title to them unless I get what is due.
    The company (Mitchell Intl did the evaluation and did not include some options on the car). Mitchell will not speak to me; says I have to talk to Progressive. COMPLETE MERRY-GO-ROUND NIGHTMARE. i I hope to file a Class Action lawsuit so if anyone interested, when I have a lawyer I will show information in Facebook or in this platform. I will give my name as "Stranded Citizen" I am a female senior, but that does not make a difference for them to try and screw me also. Their representatives seems are tought to lie, have no integrity, and all the negatives one could think of. I ask all of you reading this to please upload information on Facebook as I do not know how to do it, but the more people informed the better. Now, if I want to resolve somehow I will have to pay for an appraisal (so they say)and perhaps an umpire also. If it breaks me, I will do so. How much worst can it get??

  • I was hit by a Progressive Ins driver while sitting in my car in Walmart parking lot on Dec 16th 2021. I was told to get estimates from a few auto body shops and turn them in. I took time off work to do this, the two estimates were for 2100.00 AND 1567.00. THOUGH PROGRESSIVE AGENT AMANADA TECH WOULD ONLY OFFER ME 1100.00 I FOUGHT TOOTH AND NAIL. Finally I was sick of all the pressures and time passed back n forth so I said fine. On Jan 25, a check arrived my house so I deposited it. Progressives agent A. T . stopped payment on this check without telling me causing alot of problems in my bank account, bouncing my credit card payment causing fees. This was done by A.T. her reason was she had 50.00 needed to apply for 1 hour labor which was part of what I had been fighting to get them to cover. Instead of issueing me a separate check making all just fine.

    A. T. tells me she will pay the 30 stop payment fee that day, she never did. Next day I tell her of an additional 34.00 insufficient fund fees she caused. She tells me to send a copy of it to her so I did. I find out she cancelled the 30 payment, Now she says she wants a copy of the 30 fee as well. Listen enough is enough, I have taken so much time off going back in forth with this girl. I am over it. I still have not been paid and its Feb 2, 2022

  • you all advertise and take the monthly payments but my daughter Tiffany Brooks Claim number 21-6618218 – single mother has been waiting for the claims person, supervisor to get back to her in reference to her car that was totalled loss during Aida. I just can't believe that no one knows what happened to her claim and we have to call your office NUMEROUS time and finally when some one answers. They say – we are so sorry, someone will get back to you shortly AND THEY NEVER DO. This is going on a month. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH YOUR CATASTROPHE RESPONSE TEAM!!!! SHE HAS HAD TO GET A RENTAL OF WHICH SHE IS MAXING OUR HER CARDS. My claim with GEICO was completed from beginning to end in 10 days. You have your commercials, props etc on everything and can't follow up or come thru on this one claim. I just can't believe that no one gets back to her and they tell her that they will. THIS IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I think the only way now to get it done is to complain to the news (ON YOUR SIDE) to get this done. What the heck is the problem with Progressive?????   • Trying to get a claim paid has been a full time job. This has been going on for months with no avail. They don't get back to you after you send the required documentation. I left voice messages because none of them pick up the phone. I reached out to the representative assigned to the claim, that person's manager and the adjuster. None of them have responded to the several messages I left. It's like a black hole. One of the worse insurance companies around. I will cancel my insurance with them. They should spend less money on advertising and more on money on learning how to keep their customers satisfied.

    • This company is disgusting taking advantage of a young man for their own financial benefit. What do they have against a young man just trying to get a dirt bike back they he put a lot of money into only to tell him he has to try and buy it back at auction. How could you take advantage of someone doing the right thing. I will make sure everyone knows how horrible your company really is and the way they treat people.

  • My advice is to stay as far away from Progressive Insurance as you can. They do not care about their customers at all. I was contacted by them offering me a home/auto bundle. At the time I was answering the questions the woman ask me about my home I told her that my home was covered in Masonite siding and that my roof was 8 years old and had been replaced because of a major hail storm and that State Farm had paid the claim. The agent said nothing at all about the Masonite siding and she wrote the policy. I cancelled my old insurance with Allstate and in less than a month after the Progressive policy took effect I got a cancellation notice on my home owners policy and the reason given was that Progressive does not cover homes with Masonite siding and my roof was 15 years old with discoloration and granular loss. After getting the notice I had 2 separate professional roofers to come out and go up on my roof and both of them told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my roof and that short of having another storm coming in and messing it up it should last a minimum of another 15 years. I went back to Allstate and got my home/auto bundle back with them but now I am having a major problem getting the refund from progressive. I just spoke with them today 06-16-2021 and they claim that a check was mailed out on 06-02-2021. When I informed them that the check has not come I was told oh well there is nothing we can do about it until it has been 30 days. I paid them originally with my credit card and I always pay all my policies in full up front. I ask the lady why don't you just call the bank and put a stop payment on the check and refund the money to my credit card which I used to pay you with. Of course I was lied to again when she used the words we "can not" do that instead of the words we "will not" do that. It is Progressives responsibility to train its personal to know what they cover and what they do not cover. They have caused me a major financial problem in that I have had to pay for my coverage with 2 different companies without the benefit of having the money Progressive stole from me. They have been totally unwilling to offer even an apology for their mistake more less any compensation for their error and the hardship it has caused me. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PROGRESSIVE, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER AND LAUGH ABOUT IT BEHIND YOUR BACK.

  • Son was going back to school in ATL from NY in late January 2018 and totaled his car. We have been with Re-gressive for about 7-8 years. Had gap insurance in the car; the car was towed where RE-gressive told the towing company to tow it. almost four months and MANY CALLS LATER later and I just got notice that my license is being suspended because the license plate, that we were told would be turned over to NYS DMV for the totaled car have NOT been returned to NYS in four months!!!!!! We, of course, cancelled the policy on the totaled car and got our son a new one insured by RE-gressive. In addition, the Chysler Corporation Credit reported our payment for the totaled car is 90 days behind because RE-gressive has not paid the gap amount owed on the car!!! Just called REGRESSIVE a few minutes ago and they told me I have to go back and talk with the SAME OFFICE FOLKS that have done NOTHING for the past four months!!! That is, WHEN THEY OPEN AGAIN ON MONDAY, APRIL 23, 2018. WE WILL BE CHANGING INSURANCE COMPANIES AND I'LL BE NO ONE CONTACTS US!!

  • I do not intend to every do business with Progressive any more. Since they advertise on Fox & Friends it shows me they have no "Moral Compass". Based on some of the above complaints I guess I am correct.

  • I have been with progressive for around 10 yrs with 0 accidents. I was rear ended about 2 months ago. I have yet to get in touch with my agent. i have called weekly, left messages, etc. When i call the main line they tell me someone will contact me within 1-2 business days. This last time which was today i got ahold of a young man that told me to grow up act my age be mature among other things as he said i need to call the persons insurance that hit me and file myself. obviously i was appauled and so far that is the extent of progressives help.

You can waive the work loss exclusion but you're still going to be charged for it in the premium and then should you have an accident, they will then tell you because you initially waived it on the application,you aren't entitled to collect on it even though you've paid!!!!

  • THIS GOOD FOR NOTHING INSURANCE COMPANY DECIDED AFTER 55 DAYS TO WANT TO VERIFY INFORMATION THAT MY AGENT ALREADY VERIFIED. BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SEND ME ANY LETTERS OR A COURTESY CALL TO INFORM ME OF SUCH OR REMIND ME, THEY CANCELLED MY POLICY AS OF 23:59:59 ON 12/31/2016, AND THEN SEND ME AN EMAIL AT 0105am ON 01/01/2017 INFORMING ME THAT MY POLICY HAD BEEN CANCELLED. I HAD A GREAT RATE FOR AUTO INSURANCE AND COME TO FIND OUT FROM MY AGENT, PROGRESSIVE WAS HIKING THEIR RATES ON 01/01/2017 AND THEY WERE CANCELLING LOTS OF POLICIES. THIS IS POOR BUSINES PRACTICES FOR AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 1937. MAYBE THIS WILL BE PROGRESSIVES LAST YEAR IN BUSINESS?????

  • Reading comments here I think it is so funny Washington DC area attorney Mike Slocumb is running ads with DEPRESSIVE auto insurance in them and their rep SLO who looks exactly like your ad person and how he deals with Depressive Insurance, and knocks them out is the theme.   • Dealing with Progressive insurance in south Texas has been a nightmare. My vehicle was hit by a Progressive customer on April 21,2016. I was approved to get my vehicle fixed on May 3, 2016, and my vehicle is still at the shop until this day. During this ordeal I have dealt with 3 adjusters since it all began. Today I spoke to Supervisor MRR Alvarez in the Laredo office. All I need fixed in my vehicle is a part needed in steering wheel. I am still waiting for an approval. I was told to sign a form to get a diagnostic on my vehicle. But she did not tell me I was going to be billed for the diagnostics in the event that it was not related to the accident. When Mr. Solis from our local office bring the form to me he informed me of the paper I was signing. I signed because all I want is for my vehicle to be fixed this week. I've lost not only my sleep because I do work evenings and get woken up early for miscommunication on progressive adjusters fault, and I have been left without a vehicle, my son has had to walk to work in a business suit in over 100 degree weather, I am not asking that Progressive gives me extra money all I need is to get my vehicle repaired to where I am not going to put my life or my family's life at risk on the open road. I did get the vehicle back on June 14 but it wasn't safe to drive, So I took it back to the shop.

  • I was in an accident recently and exchanged information, took a picture of his insurance card and a picture of his name and phone number. I filed a claim with Progressive and was denied because the kid told the agent that he was not in an accident ???? I do not suggest this company AT ALL. Mike Holz

  • Progressive refuses to issue a refund to me despite me providing them with the paperwork they requested and despite TWO employees saying we would get the refund in full! They are blaming us for an error on their part. I am filing with the BBB and will also file with the State Attorney General and Department of Insurance.

  • If anyone has a complaint about any insurance company, they need to document facts and send to Department of Insurance for their state. The better their documentation, the better the results. Also send documents to the State Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. Last of all tell everyone you see about them and their corrupt employees and activities..

  • Progressive provided an inaccurate write-up "supporting" me in an arbitration accident. I lost and blame the lost on inaccurate and faulty write-up. I have sense tried to get a new arbitration based on corrected information, and no one will return my calls. Since then my rates have gone up 19% for some arbitration boards opinion that it was my fault when the driver cut me off as they pushed in without yielding. Their follow-up sucks. This issue will cost me over $1500 over the next 5 years. I have a perfect driving record at 47 years old prior to this reckless handling.

  • ENOUGH WITH FLO!!! I turn the channel every time she comes on so I don't have to watch them. Can't you come up something fresh and new? Something that is pleasant to watch and hasn't been shoved down our throats for the past few years? If you're such a great company why can't you get a great advertising company to give you a better commercial. PLEASE!!!!!!!! I'm tempted to change my auto insurance from Progressive to any other company to avoid having her picture thrown at me every time I turn on the computer, the TV, etc. Time for a change…change is good.   • I am commenting in regards to an accident involving my daughter. She was rear ended by a lady driving a vehicle that was insured through Progressive. Because the vehicle was not hers they have refused to fix my daughters vehicle until they get a statement from the driver. I asked well how long is this going to take, their answer was " I don't know" . This accident happened on June 26, 2015 and it is now July 21, 2015 and nothing has been done. My daughter received a letter from Progressive stating that she has to get her vehicle out of storage because they were only paying up to July 16, 2015 and gets this call that afternoon on July 16th, so what am I supposed to do, carry it out of there. This has really been the worst nightmare having to deal with Progressive. I was then told to file the claim with my insurance, which I think that is ridiculous, the police report stated the lady failed to control speed and was ticketed. I do want to let you know that Progressive Insurance is not what it portrays to be, those false advertised commercials, I feel they are not keeping up to their responsibility. And those agents, that are not trained , the only answer you get from them is " I don't know." "file with your insurance" why should I do that if the vehicle that hit me was insured by Progressive. And then sending a notice in the mail stating they would pay up until the 16th when knowing we won't get the mail until a couple of days later. I will definitely not recommend this insurance to anyone. They are full of crap.

  • Progressive made a mistake on my billing charging me over $70 than what the quoted me. They corrected it by given me a credit then charging me 3 times for the months they had made a mistake on. Because of their mistake my auto bill pay was taken off even though i was still getting my auto bill pay discount. I was not notified that this happened and supposedly they sent me a notice through the mail. I never got a notice so for a few months I was without insurance. Now if I want to get it reactivated through them or through another insurance company they will charge me more because I did not have continuous insurance. After speaking with a supervisor I asked even though this was your mistake and you admitted that it was your mistake you will not do anything to fix it, the supervisor replied thats correct because our system shows we sent you a notice.

  • THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY AROUND, WE BOUGHT RV CAMPER INSURANCE FOR 30 DAYS, WERE ONLY ABLE TO BY FOR 3 MONTHS AT TIME, CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISED TO GET AND CANCEL WHEN WE GOT BACK, WE DID OVER 15 TIMES THRU EMAIL AND PHONE WE ARE IN PROCESS TO GET AN ATTRONEY FOR HARASSMENT. THEY ARE TERRIBLE, WHEN I HEAR SOMEONE MENTION THEM THEY GET AN EARFUL FROM ME, I WOULD INSURE WORM WITH THEM. GOOD LUCK WITH ALL THE IDIOTS THAT DO.

  • I have had Progressive Insurance for 15 years with no accidents and they have made a lot of money off of me. Unfortunetly, 2 years ago I had to claim bankruptcy due to a "rare" situation. Not once did my rate go up in the 2yrs after that situation. Bankruptcy or not I have never missed a payment. My insurance company never suffered. They are the reason using your credit score to determine if you are a good driver came about. How about an accident free record for 15 years should tell you what kind of driver I am. They are the company that gives people with DWI's a second chance. And I am paying for someone elses mistakes. Please don't mistake this inquiry for a reason to complain. I have never written one before, so to take my time to advise others I feel should not be taken lightly. I was forced to drop my insurance for the first time in my life because it exceeded reasonable and for that it cost me 1,600.00 because they reported it to my lien holder before I had the chance to get another company. Fifteen years is a long time to be good to a company and to have them turn around and treat you so poorly even in trying to obtain answers is morally wrong. The choice is yours I just wish I didnt waste my time with them for as long as I had.

    • I have had the absolute worst experience with a claim with progressive and their claim representees, they take advantage of people in their time of distress. they have not loyalty to their customers and all they want is for you to pay your premium on time. I file a claim in January 2022 and it is June 2022 and my claim is still being handle horrible by progressive. this are heartless individual's that think it ok to take advantage of people spending their hard earned money to pay for our premiums. I won't call any names but they now who they are and you guys know you are not doing right by me and my claim. but you go to work daily only to do the next person. so when karma come back around just think about claim 22-70128. I will never recommend progressive to anyone that might be in the market for a new insurance policy. you guy's have not heart for people and ethics are low of the low. JANUARY-APPROXIMATELY JULY FOR REPAIRS…progressive misplaced my vehicle twice and I can never get the truth from the claim rep or her supervisor. and the even more frustrating part you can't get nobody from their corporate office to give you any help. I can't wait until my renewal is up to leave this unethical company..PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE IS HORRIBLE AND THE REPS THAT HOLD THEM UP IN THEIR MISTREATMENT OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

  • While it sounds like Progressive treats their own customers great. They treat victims of their customers accidents like crap.

    I live in the Dallas, Texas Triplex and twice I have been hit by customers of progressive. The first was a nightmare from beginning to end and we were lied to and pressured in to taking what ever they offered which barely even fixed my vehicle. It did not cover any missed work or medical bills that accrued due to injuries from this accident. That was about 5 or more years ago.

    This incident happened on March 29, 2012 at around 8:00 am. I was struck from behind when her vehicle failed to stop. We traded information and since I was just down the street from my job, I drove over and parked in our parking lot. When I did this I noticed that the steering made an unusual noise and I was having to press my brakes to the floor to stop. This was not how the vehicle normally drives so I was concerned as to the safety of driving it until it was properly checked out.

    I then called and was able to get in to see my Chiropractor and he immediately took x-rays of my shoulders and neck where I was complaining that it hurt. What the x-ray showed is that my right shoulder clavicle was moved during the impact of the accident. This was not only causing pain in the immediate area but muscle spasms throughout my back. I then went home and though I tried to work the next day after picking up the rental, I had to go home early because of the pain and spasms.

    While I was picking up the rental the adjuster went to my home to look at my vehicle. I had given the keys to my neighbor as I was told they were needed. I explained to a minimum of 3 people at progressive including Cory who came to look at the damage to my vehicle, my concern about the brakes. I was informed that he used the keys to unlock my car, write down some numbers and that was it. This took 3 minutes. Later I get a phone call from a new adjuster that works in Plano, TX. She said her name was Christina Gonzalez and that the car was not considered dangerous to drive and that I would need to return the rental or pay for it myself. Also that they would settle for $577. which is what it should only take to fix my vehicle.

    I explained that I had to miss some work and she said she would discuss that with me when we met to sign the paperwork, however if I missed anymore after that day (Friday 3/30) it would be on me. When asked what that met exactly she said they would not pay for any more missed pay as my injuries can not be that bad as the damages show. She was extremely rude and pushy with everything she told me and that this was how it was going to be.

    I was horrified and extremely stressed to think that all the expenses would not be covered and no matter how much pain I was in I would have to suffer because Progressive decided with out proof or even checking all the possible damage to my vehicle or even any of my injuries.

    This is why people decide to get lawyers and sue any and everyone all the time. I read Progressives' Core Values. I see no Integrity, Excellence or the Golden Rule being practiced in my situation. All I see is "Profit". I understand that you must watch expenses and the lower the expense the bigger the profit. But who's expense are you shortening? The victims? I am not asking for an outrageous amount or more than what is fair and right. I would like to be treated respectfully and with honesty. I have received none from Progressive.

    I am hoping that we can come to a reasonable agreement so I am able to do what I need to do to take care of myself both physically and mentally. Everyone knows that you do not treat a victim as if they are the perpetrator and that is how I feel I have been treated.

    Shame on you Progressive and your employees if this is the way you treat people.
