My name s Don Boyd and I am a member of the Retro Gym on Queens Blvd in Rego Park, Queens, New York. I have been a paying customer for 3-years and for the most part, I like it. However, I was at the gym today and one of the patrons was on a treadmill that was making a racket so loud, you could barely hear urself think. Instead of moving to a vacant machine right next to her, she continued to use this annoying one. I and another member went to the main desk to voice our disdain of this very loud noise and the response from the female manager was "Oh, yeah, I know, but she is doing her workout and we don't want to bother her. We'll just wait 'til she's finished"! Are you kidding me, this I ur management style. I know she's a female manager, but for Christ sake, grow a pair and do ur job. Tell the user to stop and move to another machine, as we are shutting this one down for repair. In addition, this is NOT the first time a treadmill has been in need of repair, but is allowed to stay in service and annoy everyone else in the gym, because they don't want to bother the user. Give me a break already. I am absolutely disgusted and if it weren't for convenience, I'd leave this gym. I hope this goes somewhere nd someone in Corporate says something.

Curious to know how as a corporate office you get away with not resolving issues, yet alone even calling back. I have been trying to now call the corporate office for a month! Not once has someone called me back, or did anything about my issue! Never in my life has a corporate office not called me back. Absolutely disgraceful, and very unprofessional. Very curious how you get away with this as a corporate office! I will get to the bottom of this. Terrible company!

My name is Aaron Thomas from staten island, NY. I am a member of retro fitness and had signed up for the membership in January 2017 as there was a special going on with 0 down and 20$ per month and also if i take a Personal Trainer for a month i get a month free for PT. I was told to meet Nick at richmond hill road (springville) location near trader joes in Staten island. I took the benefit for the PT for a month and was told to contact Nick once i see the charge for the PT on the CC so that he can go ahead and cancel the PT so that I dont get charged in the next month bill. When I signed up and used my card/swiped my card and was told to sign it on the Trackpad to get the receipt which I did for the month as a new customer. I was trying to get hold of Nick but he was never available in person nor on the phone. I even checked with my PT and he said you will have to call and speak to Nick regarding the agreement which he gave me. I later found out that he was fired my that location or Retro Fitness becuase he was trying to dupe customer and making them sign up and give out false information so on and so forth. I was told to speak to another PT manager his name is Anthony in the same location. He apologized with what happened and told me that he will speak to the district manager and have it resolved and when he got back to me he said that he had a conversation with the District manager and gave me a resolution saying that Nick signed me up for the whole year contract and said that we can cancel that out and charge you only for 6 months agreement instead of whole year. I said that it was misrepresentation and Nick never gave me any paperwork for the signed agreement when the time I initially used to my card for PT. I now get to know that he Nick lied to me and now im stuck with these charged coming up on my card every month when I am not even using the services. I only took the PT for a month as per what Nick had signed me up for the receipt which I had received at that time. I am really very unhappy with what was told to me and what im getting it. I have stopped taking the PT sessions more than a month now. I would really appreciate it if you can have this membership cancelled for me and have the charges stopped on my credit card. Awaiting for you speedy response with the above issue. Please let me know what and how i can go ahead and cancel this membership as I am not happy with what is provided to me. When I informed the Retro Fitness employee that the hip adductor machine was not working, he responded "I can't put a broken sign on it because it does work sometimes". What kind of answer is that? As a paying customer, the machines should not just work sometimes. A lot of the machines at this location are and remain broken for weeks at a time. I left my previous gym for this reason and it looks like I may have to leave Retro for the same reason. (Staten Island Retro on Veterans Road)

I have been a member of Retro Fitness Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York since its opening in 2012 however yesterday[Monday, March 20th]we the members were informed that the facility would be permanently closed March 26th[one week notice] I really appreciate the convenience of this gym and I do use it. I've read some of the comments left by some very unhappy patrons of your franchises although there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed at the facility that I use:upkeep of machines, cleaning of the gym and customer service just to name a few, I'm not here to bash but I think that it is so disrespectful and hurtful in the way in which we were treated/informed of the closing and I speak for a lot of the members. We would really appreciate if management or franchise owners would reconsider and or come up with a better alternative, location is paramount for a lot of the patrons of this Retro Fitness Brownsville location, if not I'll have to cancel my membership.

A Very Hurt and Angry Retro Member

I have been a member of a few of the more serious fitness centers in North Wilmington, and know all of the players… Employees that jump around to the different gyms, and members.
Much to my surprise I walked into Retro at the Concord Mall and saw behind the counter , a former county police officer who was "asked" to retire ..!!
He had been caught peeping on a colleague on the force….
That was in addition to dating married women he pulled over…Etc..
He was also trained and released by another local fitness center, then walked out 2 days after, without the courtesy of the standard 2 weeks notice and when he couldn't get the assistant manager to walk out with him threatened her, as well as other staff member's who didn't follow him.
Might not be the best person to manage..

Well I decided to take my children to the Cranford Street Fair in Cranford NJ. I was thinking about talking to the two employees while watching my two boys at Karate. As I gathered my children to walk over there the two staff members were making out. This has totally turned me off with Retro Fitness. These are two adults working while a couple booths from children's area. Totally unacceptable. After I took a picture of the two working just in case the Corporation wanted to know who it was.

Well I decided to take my children to the Cranford Street Fair in Cranford NJ. I was thinking about talking to the two employees while watching my two boys at Karate. I am unsatisfied with the way that I was deceived as I had cancelled my membership due to personal reasons and was told it would be taken care of and for the past few months I have still been getting charged for the services and membership and I have not been utilizing any of them. I have reached out several times in different ways and never got one response back. I am very disappointed with the way I have been treated and would honestly like a refund of my money as it has been alot to be taken out when I am not using any of the services.
