  • I just finished shopping at the Staters in Perris off Nuevo Rd. I made a little inquiry at the butcher counter and got the best, friendliest service and custom packaging- all with a big smile. Not 2 minutes later I was jumping up and down to reach a package on a top shelf and got help from one of your courtesy staff members ( and no cracks or short jokes….).Your cashier was friendly and chatty . This area is blessed.

  • Today at 4:15 PM we went to the Lake Arrowhead store. We spend a lot of money there and were appalled at the treatment we received from a checker, Brian Z. He was running our items through the scanner and then throwing them at the bagger. He did this so fast that things were getting crushed and he mixed our things in with the next customers items. We told the store manager but he didn't seem to care. We'll be calling corporate tomorrow, (you're closed now), and you're going to get an ear full. If this isn't fixed, we won't be shopping there EVER AGAIN. We are local – not flatlanders.

  • They are selling expired bread and Ispoke to the store manager and he said that they been told from coorporate that they can still sell it till it expires. I told him that customers buy groceries for the whole week and if you are planing to eat the bread on the 5th or 6th day after you purchased it, the expiration date will already be overdue. He said that nobody should get sick eventhough it expired a week ago. Si my question is, why put an expiration date on food if manager are saying you can still eat them a week after they expired and nothing will happen to you. This happen today at the store in Moreno Valley located at the corner of Iris and Lassell.

  • Shopping your Big Bear Store a here is a guy with 3 dogs in his shopping cart, then as I am at the meat counter here comes another guy with a lab what are all dogs welcome. I am shopping at Vons now

  • I had a horrible incident at th collins location in orange. I got hit and verbally abused by a psycho customer ahead of me and as a result no management on floor did anything about it and cashier named C**** lied and said i had been drinking when i hadnt and therefore they wouldnt ring me up for my purchases and the chic got off scott free. Good job stater bros dor practicing what you preached , NOT! Remember to care about your customers

  • I have been going to the Stater Bros on Main Street and 9th street for 26 years. I have been greatly satisfied with the service and friendly atmosphere the store manger has produced. The store manager is excellent and easy to talk to. In the 26 year, I only recently been treated unkindly and insultingly against my wife and me. I know the store manager knows who I am talking about. This will not stop me from shopping at Stater Bros. But different store location.

  • Shopping at your Covina store, corner of Grand and Covina Blvd on Friday April 25, 2016. I was in the express lane and the man ahead of me had a hundred dollar bill. The checker asked the female key carrier for change and was totally ignored. Checker had to leave the checkstand to get change. The key carrier saw me standing there waiting and didn't even offer to direct me to another checkstand, I gather up my things and looking for another stand and the same key carrier looked right at me and took another person to an empty stand without even asking me if I needed help. Very unprofessional behavior by a person in charge. I'm a retired checker and I would have never ignored a customer the way she did me. Have always loved S.B but time to start looking for another place to shop as my business doesn't seem to be appreciated there. Too bad Jack Brown is still not the CEO, I'm sure he wouldn't approve of loyal customers being treated in this manner.

  • Two weeks ago, I had an issue at your store in Twentynine Palms Ca. I attempted to make my concern known with the on duty manager and she informed me she did not have time for my complaint; that I would need to come back or call to speak with the store manager the next day. I was surprised at her response to say the least, but after fuming for a few seconds, I realized that this would probably be the best course of action. I went home and cooled off, and the next day I contacted the store. When the line was picked up, Don, the store manager was unintelligible, and I asked if he could reidentify himself. He then got a severe attitude. I attempted to overlook his lack of professionalism and customer service, thanked him for taking a few moments to speak with me about the complaint that I had. I then proceeded to explain the complaint, and he started cutting me off to give me excuses every chance he got. I had to ask him to allow me to finish before he interrupted me again. Don continued to express a negative attitude with me and even began to get hateful with me. He never resolved the complaint that I was expressing. This is only one instance of what I dealt with when I was frequenting this particular Stater Bros. store. I have been in numerous times where I have witnessed either shift/assistant managers and the store manager, Don being rude and dismissive toward customers. Due to the lack of customer service, the rudeness of the management staff, and the steady increase of items that are on average $1.00 cheaper elsewhere, as well as the diminishing supply of other items, we have decided that we will no longer visit this store. I would rather travel 20 miles, and deal with a big corporation store like ___-mart instead of putting money in your managers pocket. The whole management staff needs to be retrained in customer service and all around manners towards the people funding their paychecks. I have seen your stores take a nose-dive in the past 3 years, and I am appalled.

  • I have observed that Stater Bros are having their own brand of items in stock more and more compared to having a variety of other brands to choose from. Also, some of the employees at the Oak Glen/Bryant store in Yucaipa need to learn basic good customer service skills. Their new employee Jose is rude and unprofessional.

  • I have been shopping loyally with stater bros since 1974. I have only one complaint, as I find your employees all to be friendly and helpful. I'm told you give no training to your b aggers, and if you
don't want to train them you should at least give them a printed sheet of common sense guidelines
. ..listing such things as DON'T BAG CANNED GOODS WITH PRODUCE. DON'T BAG HOT DELI
ITEMS WITH FROZEN FOOD OR ICE CREAM
TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE AGE AND
PHYSICAL CONDITION OF YOUR SHOPPER AND
DON'T MAKE BAGS TOO HEAVY FOR FOR YOUR ELDERLY CLIENTELE. I have had all of the above happen and even though they are all common sense I blame Stater bros for not training or AT LEAST giving them written guidelines as these nice and helpful young people don't always have enough life experience to have developed much "common sense".

  • My wife buys most of grocerys from this stater brother about $500.00 a mth witch i will stop, because of a staff member and the store manager jim s ,you see every morning i all ways stop to get some supply to get me thru my day at work before i get on the freeway, i been doing this for mths then i ran into one of the bad employees and only one check open i have no choice because they are only concern about their daily task and not the customers, she (the cashier) notice that i may be I may be i a hurry becaue of ther long line, so she rang my transaction up very slowly in order to slow me down ,i put my hands out so she can hand me my receipt she just went bipolar on me accusing me of pointing at her and some other dum sh****t so i ask for a manager the store manager i vented my frustration after talking with him i felt that he was professionial enough to adress the sitiuation explaining to him that each customer have a choice and i have to spend my money with stater bros * on monday i went back to the store and i got stuck in the same check out and as soon has i got up to this same cashier she call over to her co -worker to stand by her i felt so uncomfortable so i turn around and walk over to the store manager and he was like why was that wrong? the apple does not fasll too for from the tree. The culture in your line of buisness should be about customers and when your employees manger have complex issues i should not allowed in the workplace and if properly addressed should not be allowed to continue . keep it and your customer count will drop and you will go out of buisness and guess what i will STILL get my GROCERY, CHEAPER PRICES AND BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE I HAVE CHOICES

  • As an employee for Stater Bros in the service deli department, I need some advice on how to handle a situation. I've worked in a few different stores now, due to me moving, or for personal reasons, but, this is the first time I've considered demoting myself due to my department manager's harrassment of myself and my coworkers. I've considered talking to my store manager, but after seeing a previous coworker (who eventually quit because of the mistreatment) complain, and just have her concerns ignored, as well as being labeled as a problem, and being given only closing shifts as a result, as well as having any request of days that she puts in, ignored, I feel it is not in my best interest to go that route. I'm calling union tomorrow. But, to get to the point, she's a tyrant. We work in a very busy store, she gives us lists of things to do, most of which we can't start until she leaves for the day, and if we don't finish, we're threatened with write ups. If we tell her that it was busy, we're told that it's not an excuse. That it is unacceptable. She says we don't care. She told me that it seems like I'm not even trying, and as I'm standing there crying, she tells me not to beat myself up over it. She uses product when it's out of code. Scolds us for putting out of code product in compost without consulting her first. I've seen her take something that I put in compost, re-wrap it and put it back in the case. It was immediately after, but nonetheless, the cheese was out of code. And she treats me like I'm an idiot for it, while giving me false information about dates to try to justify what she is doing. After my coworker called me crying today, I am done. I've been searching for another job, but in the mean time, I will do whatever I can possibly do to fix this mistreatment.

    • I hope you resolved this issue. But if not, simply let the store Manager or the SDB District Manager know that she messing with coding. They can watch her & when they catch it, she'll be out on her can. I know of two Dept Heads that were fired for recoding (no recourse because they all sign the Weights & Measures paperwork)& that's it. Stater's will not tolerate "fooling around" with Weights & Measures, nor should they. It's state law that they follow, fastidiously.

  • I want everyone to STOP allowing Stater Bros to punk you. DO NOT give a verbal response when you are asked this very dumb question to purchase an alcoholic beverage. Just simply ask for a manager. Give them your ID and tell them that you are NOT ok with everyone in line hearing your date of birthday, which is considered "sensitive" information and can be used to steal your identity. Let's not buy anything from Starter Bro or better yet….go ahead and sue them because as many people that have experienced identity theft recently they never thought about that time when they were asked by Stater Bro to tell everyone in the line their date of birthday. Go back and sue them now, so they an see how DUMB that policy is.

    • If you are so paranoid above "revealing" your super-secret DOB, get Lifelock. Skip a couple of booze runs & sign up. If you think giving a checker your DOB is equivalent with passing out your SS# number, someone should sue you.

  • I do not like the store asking me to announce my personal information out loud in the front of others who an use this information to steal identity. If any of my information is ever stolen, I am suing Starter Bro's . They have some nerves. I bought a bottle of wine and was asked for my ID. I have it to the cashier and she proceeded to ask for my DOB. I told her that I didn't want to say it out loud for everyone to hear. She replied that the policy was me giving ID and "a verbal response". What a load of @$$@. I offered to write it down for her (and remember, she had my ID) but she said that I must verbally state my DOB.

    • Get over it. If you buy liquor in California, it's the law. ABC comes thru all the time with secret shoppers & if you don't follow procedure, you can get slapped with a HUGE fine/and or lose your job. If your so precious that you don't want to give your DOB, maybe you shouldn't be consuming liquor.

  • Last night around 8 or so I was at the pelham Alabama location, I went into restroom to wash hands and noticed someone was smoking in stall, to my disbelief it was the manager of store, her name tag had heather on it, well at that point I decided to go eat somewhere else.

  • i love my local staters except when they switch my cashiers from different stores. i love to see their friendly faces & to be greeted by my name, keeps me coming back

  • Since Vons, Ralphs and Stater Bros all sell the same merchandise what should set them apart is their customer service. Stater Bros has blown that one! Their prices and customers service is just like the rest. If you haven't shopped at the large Smart n Final on Arlington prices are great and so is their customer service. If you want to pay the same as V, R and SB go to Sprouts. Their customer service is outstanding and produce is priced great and it's local.

  • It would be nice but can you imagine. Cops not working holidays..Its the same for other businesses, especially with the economy this way…Thank you Obama…

    • Anon, PLEASE do some reseach!! Thanksgiving is NOT a christian holiday lol, Native Americans practiced your white version of Thanksgiving called "THE GREEN CORN DANCE" for centuries BEFORE whites invaded North America!! If you really want to believe that the pilgrims invented it just ask how many people in England celebrate Thanksgiving even today or if their ancestors practiced it?? Fractured American lying history. WHITEWASHED AS USUAL. The Native Americans saved the whites from starvation and that is the TRUTH.

  • I don't understand why you all open on thanksgiving day.it's a day where families get together.your employees deserve to have two holidays off to be with their families.you all need to consider that.have a heart and close bojangles for thanksgiving and Christmas.

    • Employees should be working on thanlsgiving it not like its everyone who works at night everyone mostly works in the morning if you dont like it then get a better job simple as that

    • When employees are hired they know up front what days the company is closed, so if you chose to work somewhere, it is your choice. I worked as a nurse for over 30 years and I worked many holidays and I was not able to be with my family but that was a choice I made when I started working at that job. I am now older and spend all holidays with my family. Certain professions have to work on holidays, Police, Fireman, nurses, etc.

    • Thanksgiving is Christian practice initiated by the pilgrims to set aside one day of the year to specifically to get together with friends and family and thank the Lord for his abundance during the year. It use to be law that all businesses would remain closed on that day of Christian observance. No business had the right to interfere with an employee's right to practice their Christian faith. Inclusive, it was law that businesses close early Saturday evening and stay closed on Sunday as in Christianity that is the day of rest (God created the world in seven days, the seventh he rested). This law is still in effect in Europe.
The First Amendment of the US Constitution commands the enforcement of Separation of Church and State. Therefore, the Government can no longer prevent businesses from interfering in a person's ability to participate or observe their Christian practices. A Christian is forced to choose between God and the corporations they work for.
