Dollar General Cluttered Store - Meadow Community

November 28, 2023

The Dollar General in the Meadow Community was closed for about 2 weeks to upgrade the store. Was very impressed to see the changes that were made but within 4 weeks after the doors were opened for business it was in the same mess again. There are not enough employees working to keep the shelves stocked and the isles cleared so you can get down them with or without a shopping cart. There are carts and carts and more carts up and down the aisles every time I go there. And another thing is if someone needs to go to the restroom they have to ask for the key first. If the cashier is busy you have to wait. Sometimes a body can’t wait. Please can’t someone look into this? Things like this hurt the business.

Dollar General Disappointing Changes

February 18, 2025

Dollar General, Changes are not for the better. I’ve shopped Dollar General for over 60 years in multiple states. It’s been my go to store, my 1st stop when looking for something. In 2008 when the economy fell and many people became more poor than they’d ever been DG’s started popping up like mushrooms in New stand alone stores instead of closed stores. Naturally all the prices went Way up to pay for those stores. Now that I’m old, have cancer and little warning about the bathroom suddenly you can’t go at all never mind getting the key! So I just don’t bother going to Dollar General anymore, not at all.

Dollar General Clifton IL Management Issue

February 12, 2025

Dollar General in Clifton, Il. is being managed by a person who is totally incompetent. She is only there about 20 hrs a week but turns in 40. She is not there enough to be a manager. She had freezer sections that were not keeping food at a proper temp but continued for over 2 weeks to sell the ice cream and food that was not a safe temperature. She has trained the employees to watch closely for freezer/cooler foods to not be at room temp past a certain amount of time or to dispose of them before stocking shipments but will let the food that is not safe in freezer be sold. Employees play on their phone and then want to trash the cold shipments that have not been stocked. There is a lot of unnecessary waste there. She writes the employees up if she failed to tell them she had a replacement for them for doctor’s appt and they returned to work asap and clocked in to work. Then she allows an associate to run the registers when they are not supposed to. She breaks a lot of rules. I don’t think she should be fired but I believe she should be retrained to be a manager or give it to someone else.

Dollar General Dog In Store & Cart Issues

February 11, 2025

Dollar General, Dogs in the store and in carts! I (and most people I know) have become tired of the “Covid” policy that allowed dogs into all of our stores. Once again while shopping at Dollar General (today was in Lynchburg TN store) a lady had her dog-NOT a Service Dog, in the shopping cart as so many of them do. I have to put my FOOD in these carts and honestly am sick and tired of people bringing their dogs into all of our stores when they are not a true Service Animal. This policy should be stopped immediately. My husband and I are both disabled veterans who qualify for a Service Dog but knowing how valuable they are decided to forego them to allow other vets truly in need to have them. An ‘emotional’ animal or pet should be left at home and not in our food establishments or any other store riding in the carts where we put food and our children. I am asking that your store please review your policy and no longer allow this to happen. Thank you.

Dollar General Rowlett TX Disappointing

February 4, 2025

Dollar General, Has turned into a Cluttered / Dirty mess. I recently moved back to Rowlett Tx and was shocked to see the state of 5610 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett store. 1 young man working 2 registers by himself to get the line moving and customers taken care of Aisles so cluttered with rolling racks of new product you can’t get down the aisles. Is this the new way of taking care of your back stock? Store is filthy !!! Floors are sticky, Gross ! Shelves look like any and everything of product was thrown on them. In the past I would opt to come to Dollar General to get away from the Walmart crowds, the condition of this store makes that impossible now. And what’s with the music on blast ?? I can’t believe a District manager allows these conditions. Dollar General do better !! Clean up your stores and bring back the convenience of your stores.
