  • Well as for this no more plastic bags, I think this is going to be very difficult for a lot of people, mostly seniors. The thing that upset me this morning when I went shopping was Giant Eagle is charging people for the paper bags. Totally outrageous. It is bad enough that you have raised the prices on all of our food, and now you are going to charge us for bags to put our groceries in. Unbelievable. So glad there are mor Meijer grocery stores popping up. Other stores such as whole foods, do not charge for the paper bags. Also, you cannot put pop, milk and canned foods in these paper bags because they rip and bottom out. Smart thinking Giant Eagle. It is sad that
Cuyahoga county which is know for being the number one poverished city in the United States, has to exploit and put their people through more expense and hardships with these paper bags. I should not be forced to buy them or plastic carries, which you charge 99 cents for. Really. So I do understand that plastic bags can cause littering, but is it better to cut all these trees down again, which take 50 plus years to grow back, or hire a cleaning crew to pick up the discarded bags? WOW

  • I am irritated with your store here in Barberton, OH. I want to know why I cannot buy Taste of Thai peanut sauce anymore. I have to order it on line because nobody carries this anymore. Also, you advertise on your website that you have the 5 gal jugs of water for sale for us who have the Primo Water systems—This store does not carry those. Why not? I have to be forced to drive to Cuy Falls or Walmart in order to get my water. Because of this along with prices being very high, I will not shop at any giant eagle. Get the Taste of Thai products and get the water—like your website says you carry.

    Customer Service Issue

As a half-century long Giant Eagle customer, I believe it is time to speak up about the extremely poor customer service at the Giant Eagle Caste Village store in Whitehall. I do not believe I will go to this store again after my experience today. As I've already told several friends/relatives about my experience and may mention it on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, I'll share with you, Laura Shapira Karet, CEO/Pres., in all fairness so you may attempt to remedy the problem at that store.

Today, 1/16/2022, as I entered the dairy isle, I encountered a middle aged, female stocking items, complaining and swearing loudly to a fellow stocker about Hostess products being garbage, and using vulgarity repeatedly to report her disfavor with Twinkies and other items made by Hostess. I ignored her and made my way around her, as she did not move to allow me to go through.

But, I did ask Ian what the price was for two dozen Hillsdale eggs that I was holding because the price were not marked on the egg case, as it was for some types of egg, but not all. Ian answered, "I don't know." Then he began using a hand held device, that I assumed enabled him to look up the price. When he turned away, I asked, "Did you find the price?" "No," Ian answered. "Can you find it?," I questioned. He responded, "I wouldn't even know how to find that," and he turned away and resumed his conversation with the female complaining stocker who had been watching, but also turned away.

I put the eggs back in the cooler and went to the check-out, ending my shopping in that store. After paying for $93.00 + dollars worth of merchandise, I asked Jen, the check out girl, if I could speak with the manager, and she called the manager and told me "The manager will be up." After standing by the cigarette case near the check-out counter, in front of the store for approx. 15 minutes, Jen yelled over, "I did call," and turned off her light and walked in the other direction. I waited another 10 minutes, or so, and left the store for the last time.

Shop 'N Save is the same distance from my home in Baldwin Twp/Mt. Lebanon area and will be my new grocery store. I hope you can remedy the customer service problems in this store, as there is much competition in food retail.
    Regards,
    Debra Brewer

  • WHY is the GE in Mayfield Heights OH out of practically everything when the GE at Legacy Village GE has everything stocked on the shelves?? I was at GE in Mayfield and there was 3 bottles of distilled bottle on 3 shelves. I hate to say this, but this store is pathetic. I'm going to shop at Heinan's even thought they are more expensive.
