Mastercard Headquarters and Main Office Information

Mastercard’s global corporate headquarters is located at 2000 Purchase Street in Purchase, New York. This is the main address for Mastercard corporate office, Mastercard headquarters, Mastercard HQ, Mastercard main office, and Mastercard corporate address searches.

For many cardholder issues, Mastercard is not the first place to call. Mastercard operates the payment network, while banks, credit unions, fintech companies, retailers, and other financial institutions usually issue the actual credit, debit, prepaid, or gift card. For billing, payments, account balances, card declines, disputes, interest charges, credit limits, rewards, login issues, or replacement cards, start with the phone number on the back of your card or the bank that issued the card.

Mastercard Customer Support and Cardholder Help

When to Contact Mastercard vs. Your Card Issuer

Many Mastercard complaints involve a bank, credit union, retailer, prepaid card company, fintech app, or gift card issuer rather than Mastercard corporate office. Mastercard may be able to help with network-level questions, card benefits, acceptance, lost or stolen card routing, emergency assistance, ATM locator help, Click to Pay, and Mastercard-related support tools. However, the issuing bank usually controls your account.

Contact the Bank or Card Issuer For:

  • Credit card payments, balances, credit limits, interest, fees, or minimum payments
  • Disputes, chargebacks, billing errors, unauthorized transactions, or refunds
  • Card declines, frozen accounts, account verification, or fraud holds
  • Rewards points, cash back, travel rewards, or card-specific benefits
  • Account login problems, statements, address changes, or replacement cards
  • Gift card balance, activation, card registration, or merchant-specific card issues

Contact Mastercard For:

  • General Mastercard customer support
  • Lost or stolen Mastercard assistance when you cannot reach your issuer
  • Mastercard benefits and network-related questions
  • Click to Pay support
  • ATM locator help
  • Questions about Mastercard acceptance or Mastercard tools

How to Escalate a Complaint with Mastercard

If you have a complaint involving a Mastercard-branded card, begin by identifying who issued the card. Look for the bank, credit union, prepaid card company, retailer, fintech app, or gift card program printed on the card, shown in your app, listed on your statement, or named in your cardholder agreement.

  1. Call the number on the back of the card: This is usually the best first step for account-specific questions.
  2. Document the issue: Keep your card issuer name, last four digits of the card, transaction dates, merchant names, receipts, statements, case numbers, emails, and screenshots.
  3. Ask for the correct department: Depending on the issue, ask for fraud, disputes, chargebacks, card benefits, prepaid support, digital wallet support, or account servicing.
  4. Contact Mastercard support if needed: Call 1-800-627-8372 in the U.S. or +1-636-722-7111 internationally if your issue involves Mastercard support or emergency card assistance.
  5. Use corporate office channels for formal matters: Written corporate correspondence may be directed to Mastercard Incorporated, 2000 Purchase Street, Purchase, NY 10577.
  6. Escalate to a regulator if appropriate: If the issue involves a bank account, credit card, prepaid card, billing error, or financial product and remains unresolved, consider filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Mastercard Lost or Stolen Card Help

If your Mastercard is lost or stolen, contact your card issuer immediately using the number on the back of another card, your card issuer’s app, your bank’s website, or the customer-service number shown on your statement. If you cannot reach the issuer, Mastercard support may be able to help route emergency assistance.

Act quickly if a card is missing, stolen, compromised, or used without permission. Review recent transactions, freeze or lock the card if your issuer offers that option, and request a replacement card through the issuer.

Mastercard Click to Pay and Digital Wallet Issues

For Mastercard Click to Pay questions, Mastercard lists a dedicated support number and email. Click to Pay issues may involve online checkout, saved card information, digital wallet settings, tokenized payment details, or a merchant checkout problem.

Mastercard Ethics, Compliance, and Corporate Concerns

Mastercard provides an Ethics Helpline for ethics, compliance, legal, workplace, vendor, or corporate conduct concerns. This is not the same as consumer customer service and should not be used as the first step for card disputes, billing errors, lost cards, or account-specific questions.

Mastercard Fraud, Scam, and Account Safety Tips

Be cautious of phone calls, emails, texts, social media messages, and fake websites claiming to be from Mastercard. Scammers may say your card is locked, a charge is pending, your account needs verification, or your benefits will be canceled unless you click a link or provide personal information.

  • Do not share your full card number, PIN, CVV code, online banking password, one-time passcode, or Social Security number with an unsolicited caller.
  • Use the phone number on the back of your card for account-specific help.
  • Contact your issuing bank immediately if you see unauthorized transactions.
  • Be careful with fake gift card support numbers, fake dispute departments, and search ads that imitate financial companies.
  • Only use official Mastercard websites or your issuing bank’s official website or mobile app.
  • Report suspected internet fraud to the FTC or the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center when appropriate.

Mastercard Unresolved Disappointing Experience

May 23, 2025

Mastercard, Ongoing Charges Issue and Terrible Customer Service. I’ve spent the last four months trying to resolve a serious issue with my account, and I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere. It’s been nothing but runaround. Just recently, I spent over two hours on the phone, spoke with seven different people across three time zones—and still no resolution. This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. When I tried calling corporate for help, no one answered. Instead, I was redirected back into the same automated system that leads nowhere. I’ve been a cardholder since the early 1980s, but due to this complete lack of support and accountability, I’ve now canceled the card. Extremely disappointing service from a company I expected better from.
