Country Inn and Suites Lubbock TX Disappointing

January 8, 2025

Country Inn, Worst hotel ever. Country Inn & Suites, 62nd Street, Lubbock Texas. Stayed Jan 3 – 5, 2025. We checked in for a premium king suite. We got a king bed, it wasn’t a suite, but except for the fact the floors were filthy, it was okay. We left for the day at 10am on Sat Jan 4th. We did not return until 11:20pm that evening. We went to our room – our keys had been de-activated. We went to the desk, asked why? Man had “no idea”. He re-activated ONE of our card keys. We opened the door to our room to find it exactly as we’d left it at 10am that morning. Not cleaned/touched. Back to the desk. Clueless, and no manager. We got towels, but no I’m Sorry, no… how can we make this right? Nothing! I asked for a 50% refund on the 2nd night stay for compensation. He said No, moved us to an “upgraded room”, the premium king suite. It Was Filthy! Now it’s after midnight. Hair in the shower, toilet paper stuffed in the bathroom vent, black stuff smeared on a bed pillow, no phone in the room, holes in the blackout curtains, floors were filthy!! Refrigerator was hot. I was appalled. Next morning After we checked out and complained again, they charged my card $120 (for the other room) instead of refunding any money we had already paid. We did not ask to be moved from our first room. Corporate office so far is unresponsive. This is a “Choice Hotel” group. Overcharged**** Country Inn Took Additional $120 For Room We Did Not Use. Horrible Experience. Filthy.

Country Inn Champaign IL

October 21, 2024

Country Inn, Unauthorized entry to room and worker smoked something illegal in guest room. My husband and I along with our adult son booked a three night stay October 10th 11th and 12th at the Country Inn & Suites on Marketview drive in Champaign IL . On October 11th we left the room for a good part of the day and returned in the early evening. On our return our room keys were for no apparent reason deactivated and we could not get back in our room. My husband went down to the front desk where they apologized and reactivated the keys without any explanation on why the keys were deactivated. Upon entering the room our family was overwhelmed by the smell of illegal substance which was clearly coming from our room. Keep in mind we booked a three night stay so there was no room service scheduled for those three nights, and no reason for room service to enter our room. We immediately went down to the front desk and complained to the desk associate who in return went in the back and called out the manager on duty. The manager on duty came up to our room and agreed that someone had entered our room and was smoking. The manager suggested that perhaps we were the ones that maybe the culprit which didn’t make sense because why would we go down to the desk to complain if we were the culprits, not to mention we are seniors and devout Christians and Do Not approve of nor smoke illegal substances…

Something strange was going on, and the fact that our keys were deactivated without cause spoke volumes. The manager changed our room and we moved across the hall…..Our family was severely inconvenienced, and we weren’t even offered a free nights stay or a discount on our bill. I would not recommend staying at this hotel…. Stay away!!! The manager was very unprofessional had a lackadaisical attitude and acted like she could care less…She didn’t even specify whether or not she was going to approach or question her staff. Something very odd is going on at this hotel, and I would not recommend staying there unless you don’t mind having your space severely violated….

Country Inn Internet Reservation Issue

October 11, 2024

Country Inn Internet reservation. We regularly stay at the Country Inn at Dunn, N.C. twice every year. I request this venue from my browser and up pops all the selections for my stay. I get the room and the listed rate and make a mental note of it. On the same page I see a phrase saying “call this number for discounted rates” which I understand to be lower than the rates shown. I call and an agent says “Reservation Desk, may I help you”? I give him the details of my stay and he confirms a price slightly less than the printed offer on the site page so I book it. He sends me the confirmation after I hang up but it shows an extra charge for “reservation service fee of $17.99”! I’m about to cancel when I see that this fee is not refundable! I talk to people about this and they tell me the agent I called belongs to a separate booking company that sells reservations for this fee. This is totally devious and deceptive and most-probably illegal. I fully expect a positive response to my complaint and at least a refund of the $17.99 service fee forced upon me by “your agent”.

Country Inn & Suites Davenport IA

September 18, 2024

Not up to Country Inn & Suites Standards. We booked 2 rooms at the Country Inn & Suites in Davenport Iowa on 9/15/24 and stayed one night. We arrived at the hotel at 3 p.m. and check in was at 4 but there was no one in the lobby and no other cars in the parking lot so figured we could get our room early. The clerk was very rude and told us check in was 4. We told him that we wanted to watch the Packer Game and so he let us check in early. He did say that we would have to come down later and pick up our own towels. Once we got to our rooms we noticed how disgusting this hotel was. I went to use the toilet and on the seat was a pubic hair and there was most definitely a ring in the toilet. There was no drain plug in the bathtub. There was cracked tile in the bathroom. The carpeting in the room and the hallway and the stairs leading up to the rooms was very stained. We also noticed a red cooler outside our room, odd, we didn’t open it. Opened the refrigerator and there was horrible ice build up in the freezer. The curtains were coming off the track and there was only half of the sheer curtain. There were no cups included with the coffee pot. The deadbolt lock was broken. There were only 3 lightbulbs in the 5 bulb bathroom light. There were stains on the wall, on the headboard. The sink was very dirty and stained. The bath tub had stains. The hook on the bathroom door was barely secure. The wall paper was coming off. There was a blood stain on the comforter. The next day there was no hot breakfast, just cold and there was a dead bug in the eating area. We had previously stayed at this hotel, but quite a few years ago and 5 years ago it was very nice – what you would expect from the name Country Inn & Suites. This hotel should be closed and most definitely not be allowed to use the name. I have more photos to share but couldn’t download any more, but would like to document all of my photos.

Country Inn Matteno IL

August 24, 2024

Country Inn, reservations voided! Just left your terrible Country Inn , Matteno, IL. Paid for handicap accessible, non smoking. Reservation were changed without us knowing it. It was standard tub, not a Walkin handicap bathroom. The manager got very threatening and verbally abusive about my handicaps. Which against Federal Law. I don’t have to prove my handicap to her. Her name is Brittani, she said she was manager. I told her I was going to report her. Said she didn’t care. She then stated they, her boss, owner, wouldn’t do anything to her. She was trying to blame us for her employee Brandon who made our reservations. What a joke! Then she dragged our pillows on the floor, get grime from the dirty floor.
