Subaru Flagstaff Subaru Disappointing Service Issue

February 15, 2025

Subaru, Transmission failure on Outback. My transmission went on December 30, 2024. I had it towed to Flagstaff Subaru that day. I told that I was still under warranty and Subaru should cover it 100%. I had gotten the extended warranty when I brought it new from Flagstaff Subaru. I was very happy to hear this. But now it has been 6 weeks and I still have no answers. When I call the dealership I am told that Subaru wanted data from the in car computer. Then a week goes by and I call I am told Subaru wants more data from the computer. Now when I call I can’t get through to the service so I leave a voicemail and they never call back. At first they were unable to provide a loaner car so I had to pay for one week rental at $239.80. The second week I had company so they took me around. Before they left we came to Flagstaff and then the service department were able to provide me with a car. Great! But I want my car back. I’m a retired RN and this was going to be my last car because Subaru’s reputation of reliability and your ad stating 90% of Subaru are still on the road after ten years. I am upset that this has come to me writing a letter to complain because I have a great deal of respect for the brand. I hope you can help me.

Subaru Disappointing Charge Issue

February 14, 2025

Subaru, Why you will not hear from me again! I had four pressure sensors replaced on my 2018 Subaru Outback yesterday. I took the sensors home with me. On the invoice I received I was charged $24.50 for Environmental Fees. Around 2:00 pm on 2/14/25 I called the manager of Autobarn in Countryside and asked what the charge was for. He said it was for material disposal and would always in the future be charged on Subaru work orders. I asked to have the charge removed since they had not disposed of any material. When he said the charge would always be on the work orders in the future I said I would not be back or consider buying a Subaru in the future. His response: Since you will not be back I see no reason to make the adjustment. If this is the Subaru attitude to charge for a service not provided I must say goodbye to Subaru and Autobarn in Countryside.

Subaru Disappointing Upholstery Issue

February 14, 2025

Subaru, Upholstery tears after 46,000 miles. I am a firm believer in Subaru but my 2017 Subaru Outback top of the line model developed identical slice like 5” tears on both front seats at the same time on the door sides of the bucket seats after just 46,000 miles. The fake leather apparently has no give when entering and exiting the seats and the upholstery leatherette is extremely thin – paper thin. As a multiple buy Subaru owner, this is very disappointing. The car has little direct sun so it is not from that and is only in the 2 bucket front seat sides door side. I did not have this issue in prior models. Beyond this upholstery problem – I credit Subaru with saving my life in freak sudden blizzard like snow storms at least twice – when my Subarus were each time the only cars not sliding off the roads. Please get a different fabric on your upholstery in the future that lasts longer than 46,000 miles of use!! My car is used by a normal sized driver and passenger so there should have been fabric that gave for normal use. The tear is getting bigger.

Subaru Recall Parts Availability Question

February 5, 2025

Subaru, I need info on my 2021 Outback safety recall. Haven’t been successful in finding another way of contacting you on line. I am trying to find out when the safety recall on my 2021 Outback will be done. I keep getting reports that the part is not available. When can I expect this to be available?

Subaru Norman OK Wheel bearing Issue

December 28, 2024

Cavender Subaru in Norman Oklahoma is the dealership where this happened. While my 2019 Outback was in for an oil change the tech/salesman in the garage did a video of her spinning a wheel and saying a wheel bearing was out. I took the vehicle to a trusted mechanic and he drove the car and said that I don’t have a bearing going out. At first they were trying to charge me for it. The dealership called back because they knew I wasn’t happy and said that they would pick up the cost. Then I realized that I was still under warranty so I let them change it. I showed the video to several mechanics and they all said, this is what happens when people in the garage are paid by commission.
