Kia Horrible Customer Service

September 14, 2024

Kia, I have a 2018 Kia Soul with 89k miles on it. Paid cash for it a few years ago. All the recalls have been completed and it is maintained regularly. A few days ago, engine/oil light blinking, knocking sound, died twice, and now is parked permanently in the driveway. Talked to local Kia dealership and customer service and they were all so rude. Said they will not pay to replace the engine due to title being branded. The supervisor talked to me like I was a stupid woman, which I am not. They know there is an engine issue, yet they do nothing but screw the owners. And even know I say this, not one thing will be done to rectify it. What ever happened to customer satisfaction? So sad!

Kia Disheartening Experience

September 13, 2024

Kia, this vehicle has become a nightmare. I’m writing this review in total disgust. First of all, I really want to thank Kia for all the stress and displeasure being the owner of one of your vehicles. Since these videos have been on the internet, showing these criminals how to steal your vehicles, I’ve had my 2013 Sorento, vandalized 6 times.Twice busting out my windows in which I replaced myself and 4 times busting out my windows and busting up my steering column, leaving it dangling. I had to file claims with my insurance to repair the damage, because I couldn’t drive it in that condition. On top of that, I got dropped from my insurance and now I can’t get a decent quote for insurance from anybody. To make matters worse, now the thing won’t even start! It broke down on me in the middle of traffic on the highway! I could have been fatally injured! I have been without a vehicle for almost a month now! I’ve gotten a street violation because I couldn’t move the vehicle. I will say this, I will never buy another Kia as long as I live! Never!!! This has been the most disheartening and aggravating experience in my life. I also had called one of your offices about my paint peeling off the truck and I was told it was nothing they could do about it! Like I said before, this is it for me. After all of this, I’ll never put myself in a situation like this again. I kept up with maintenance on that vehicle! No way should my engine have stopped on me so suddenly! I hope someone from your corporate office sees and reads my review, because I would like to hear a response to what I’ve said!

Kia Disruptive Navigation Issue

August 31, 2024

Kia, I own a 2023 KIa Niro. Bought it in February 2023. Love the car, performance, and technology. Loved by GPS until recently. In April 2024 an unauthorized update completely screwed up my navigation routing. I immediately contacted Kia Navigation solutions center. I have contacted them five times ; sent them requested information on three different occasions. Said they would send it to Kia, South Korea. Never heard back. It has been over four months. I have been to the dealer three times, a round trip of 2 hours. They are now requesting that I come back a fourth time with no guarantee of a resolution. I have contact customer service about 5 or 6 times. Get a different person each time. They simply redirect me back to the dealer. It is a software problem. One or more files were corrupted. From day one they should have rebooted the navigation software, found a fix, or delete the current program and reinstall the navigation software. Sometimes I feel like I am speaking a foreign language. This is way more difficult than it needs to be. I have worked with computers and computer programs for over 50 years. If a program goes bad, delete and reinstall. Problem solved. I cannot believe that they do not have a contingency plan when the navigation system malfunctions.

Kia Smithtown NY

August 29, 2024

I have a 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid and had the battery replaced in 2018. In 2022 I was driving when my car suddenly just shut off, brought it to the dealer and after countless recalls and 3 weeks later they returned the car to me. Fast forward 2024 and my HEV system shut down again. I had it towed to the dealer where I was met with a service department that told me it would take weeks to diagnose. After A few urgent phone calls from me telling them that was unacceptable four days later they said it was the battery and it would cost $15,000 to fix. I asked if they could give me a loaner vehicle and they told me “No”, because I was not VIP. I went to the dealer to pick up my vehicle and was met by a sales representative “Chad” who offered me 200 dollars for my vehicle to trade for another KIA. He continued to tell me it was my fault the battery died and maintained my car wasn’t worth anything. I felt spoken down to and left the dealership. Two days later I received an email from Smithtown KIA offering me $1,868.00 for my car. On August 9,2024 I received yet another recall informing me a fuse in the battery was causing malfunctions and to set up an appointment. At no time when I was at the dealership did, they even mention this recall they simply wanted to charge me $15,000 to fix it or for me to buy a new vehicle. I am utterly disappointed with Smithtown Kia and the way I was treated by the service department and the sales department. The recalls on this vehicle could have proven devastating had someone hit me when my vehicle just died in the middle of the road. I have since had the vehicle fixed for $3,900 dollars and will never return to another KIA dealership ever again. It is not a brand you can trust, and the cars are just not reliable. This will probably fall on deaf ears, but my displeasure is everlasting as your car is a lifeline to maintain a productive life and this has put me on the sidelines for the better part of a month. As someone who lives alone, and public transportation is lacking in the suburbs of Long Island its debilitating to not have your car for weeks.

Kia Recall Issue

August 28, 2024

Kia, freak recalls and the dealership and the few bad apples. So why did my car work perfectly fine before we went and got the recalls done? This guy treated my wife as if she didn’t know what she was talking about when we took our car into the shop. We explained that the battery light came on then off and that we went, and had it check but the tech said to take it to the dealer and have them do an alternator test. We did they said it was fine, but the battery was dead, so we went and bought one. the car does the same thing as it was doing before what a loser instead of running a full diagnostic, he did the least he could do. why work somewhere if you don’t want to do the job that is asked of you?
