Chime Corporate Office, Headquarters Address, Phone Number, Complaints and Reviews

🗨  Comments

Chime is a financial technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. This guide explains the difference between Chime’s corporate headquarters, mailing address, Member Services, and partner-bank information. It also shows members where to start with account access, unauthorized transactions, disputes, direct deposits, account closures, refund checks, Pay Anyone transfers, and unresolved complaints.

Chime quick answers

  • Headquarters: 101 California Street, Floor 5, San Francisco, CA 94111
  • Mailing address: Chime, P.O. Box 417, San Francisco, CA 94104-0417
  • Member Services: 1-844-244-6363, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • In-app chat: Open the Chime app, then tap Profile, Help Center, and Chat
  • Company type: Financial technology company, not a bank
  • Banking partners: The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC
  • Public company: Chime Financial, Inc. trades on Nasdaq under the symbol CHYM

Important: Chime states that customer support is not available at its headquarters. For account, card, deposit, dispute, or fraud help, use the app or Member Services instead of visiting or calling the corporate office.

Chime Corporate Office and Headquarters Contact Information

Which Chime address should you use?

  • Headquarters address: Use for corporate, investor, media, or executive-office identification. It is not a walk-in support location.
  • P.O. Box: Use for written correspondence only when Chime or the agreement for your specific product directs you to mail something there. Do not mail cash, original identity documents, or an unsolicited check.
  • Direct-deposit bank address: Use the partner-bank name and address on the completed direct-deposit form in your Chime app. Do not use the San Francisco headquarters address for payroll or benefits forms.

Chime Headquarters Address Update

Older Chime listings may still show 77 Maiden Lane in San Francisco. Chime’s current website and investor materials list its headquarters at 101 California Street, Floor 5, San Francisco, CA 94111. Chime’s filings may describe the same location as Suite 500.

The number 1-844-244-6363 should be labeled as Member Services or customer support, not as a separate corporate switchboard. Chime does not prominently publish a general headquarters phone number for customer complaints, and it specifically states that customer support is not available at HQ.

Choose the Correct Chime Contact Route

Login or account-access problem Account recovery, in-app chat, or 1-844-244-6363 Account email and phone number

Is Chime a Bank?

No. Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Chime provides the app, member experience, support tools, and related technology. Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC.

The distinction matters when the issue involves an account agreement, direct deposit, deposit insurance, the bank that issued a card, a credit product, or a regulatory complaint. The applicable partner bank can vary by account or product. Check the Chime app, card, account statement, direct-deposit form, and controlling agreement instead of assuming that every Chime product uses the same bank.

Name Role Why it matters
Chime Financial, Inc. Public financial technology company and parent organization Corporate, investor, and headquarters information
The Bancorp Bank, N.A. Chime banking partner and FDIC-insured bank May hold deposits or issue the account, card, or credit product identified in your documents
Stride Bank, N.A. Chime banking partner and FDIC-insured bank May hold deposits or issue the account, card, or credit product identified in your documents
Chime Capital, LLC Provides lending-related services for certain Chime credit products The issuing bank and product agreement control a MyPay or loan complaint
FDIC insurance clarification: Chime itself is not an FDIC-insured bank. Eligible deposits may receive pass-through FDIC insurance through The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., subject to applicable limits, ownership categories, and recordkeeping requirements. FDIC insurance protects covered deposits if an insured bank fails; it does not insure a customer against card fraud, scams, transfer mistakes, investment loss, or an ordinary service dispute.

Chime Bank Address and Direct-Deposit Information

Searches for “Chime bank address” can refer to three different things: Chime’s headquarters, Chime’s P.O. Box, or the address of the partner bank connected to a member’s account. For payroll, benefits, or direct deposit, the correct answer is the bank information on the completed direct-deposit form in the Chime app.

Chime currently lists these partner-bank addresses in its direct-deposit help:

  • Stride Bank, N.A.: 324 W. Broadway Avenue, Enid, OK 73701
  • The Bancorp Bank, N.A.: 345 N. Reid Place, Suite 700, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Use one of those addresses only if it matches the bank shown on your own Chime direct-deposit form. Find the form in the app under Move, Set up direct deposit, and Get direct deposit form. Routing and account numbers are sensitive and should be copied directly from the app or form, not from a third-party website.

What to Have Before Contacting Chime

  • Name, email address, and phone number on the account
  • The Chime account, card, or product involved
  • Transaction, deposit, withdrawal, or transfer date and amount
  • Merchant, ATM, payer, payroll provider, or recipient name
  • Whether a transaction is pending or posted
  • ACH trace number for a direct deposit, when available
  • Merchant refund receipt or confirmation number, when relevant
  • Dispute, complaint, or support case number
  • Account-closure notice and confirmed mailing address, when relevant
  • A short timeline and the exact resolution requested
Protect your information: Never post or email a full account number, routing number, card number, Social Security number, password, PIN, one-time code, direct-deposit form, identity document, home address, or screenshot showing balances. Submit sensitive documents only through a secure Chime route that you reached from the official app or website.

Unauthorized Transactions, Lost Cards, and Chime Disputes

If a Chime card is lost, stolen, or used without permission, turn off card transactions in the app immediately and contact Chime. Do not wait for an unauthorized pending transaction to post before securing the card.

How to dispute a posted Chime card charge

  1. Open the Chime app and select the account containing the transaction.
  2. Select the posted transaction. Pending card transactions cannot yet be disputed through the normal charge-dispute process.
  3. Tap Problem with this transaction?
  4. Follow the prompts and provide accurate details.
  5. Upload requested receipts, merchant messages, or other evidence through the secure Chime process.
  6. Save the dispute confirmation and monitor app and email updates.

If the dispute option is unavailable or the matter is urgent, call 1-844-244-6363. Card, ACH, ATM, transfer, and credit-product complaints may follow different rules, so identify the transaction type precisely.

If Chime denies a dispute

  • Read the final determination and note any response deadline.
  • Ask which records or facts were used in the decision.
  • Provide new evidence promptly and ask whether the case can be reconsidered.
  • Keep temporary-credit, reversal, and final-decision notices.
  • Escalate an unresolved consumer-financial complaint when appropriate.

A temporary credit is not a final decision. Chime may remove it if the completed investigation does not resolve the dispute in the member’s favor.

Pay Anyone Transfer Sent to the Wrong Person

Chime-to-Chime Pay Anyone transfers are generally completed immediately and cannot be canceled or reversed. A non-Chime recipient normally has 14 days to claim a transfer. If the transfer is still pending, the sender may be able to cancel it in the app; if it remains unclaimed, Chime says the money is returned automatically after the claim period.

  • Wrong recipient or wrong amount: Check the transfer status, cancel it if the app still permits cancellation, contact the recipient, and contact Chime.
  • Unauthorized transfer: Call 1-844-244-6363 immediately and review the applicable account agreement.
  • Scam-induced transfer: Tell Chime exactly how the transfer occurred, preserve messages and payment details, and consider reporting the scam to law enforcement or an appropriate federal agency.

Do not assume that Chime can retrieve a completed transfer simply because it was sent by mistake. Double-check the recipient before confirming any instant payment.

Missing Direct Deposits, Payroll, Benefits, and Tax Refunds

Chime says it posts a direct deposit when it receives the payment file and does not display incoming direct deposits as pending. If a deposit is missing, first verify that the payer sent it to the correct account and routing number.

  1. Confirm the deposit date, amount, and destination with the employer, benefits provider, tax agency, or other payer.
  2. Confirm that the account and routing numbers match the current Chime direct-deposit form.
  3. Ask the payer for the ACH trace number.
  4. Give the trace number to Chime through in-app chat or Member Services.
  5. If the deposit was returned, ask the payer when and how it will be reissued.

A deposit may be returned because of a closed account, name mismatch, ineligible business payment, incorrect account information, payer reversal, or another review issue. The payer normally controls reissuing returned funds. For a tax refund, also check the issuing tax agency’s official status tool; Chime does not control when the agency sends the payment file.

Account Restrictions, Closures, and Refund Checks

If Chime restricts or closes an account, save the notice and ask what information is required, whether pending transactions or disputes remain, and how any balance will be returned. A support representative may not be able to disclose every detail of a security or compliance review, but members can still request a case number, document instructions, and written status.

Before voluntarily closing an account, Chime recommends downloading statements and tax documents, moving direct deposits, canceling or changing automatic payments, and transferring the remaining balance to another account. If funds remain, Chime says it issues a refund check within 14 days of account closure; delivery may take up to 30 days from the closure date.

If a Chime refund check is late

  • Confirm the closure date and amount expected.
  • Confirm the mailing address on the account.
  • Ask when the check was issued and whether it was returned or cashed.
  • Ask about the stop-payment and replacement-check process.
  • Record the case number and every promised follow-up date.
  • Escalate in writing or to an appropriate regulator if access to the balance remains unresolved.

Merchant Refunds, ATM Problems, and Mobile Check Deposits

Missing merchant refund

Chime says merchant refunds usually appear 5 to 7 business days after the merchant processes the refund. Ask the merchant for the processing date, amount, and confirmation number. A merchant’s promise to refund is not the same as a processed card refund.

ATM charged the account but dispensed no cash

Save the receipt and record the ATM owner, location, date, time, requested amount, amount actually dispensed, and any error message. File a Chime dispute and keep the ATM details because the investigation may require records from the ATM owner or network.

Mobile check deposit delayed or rejected

Check the app for the deposit status and expected posting date. Chime says an accepted mobile check deposit may take up to five business days to post. Keep the original paper check until the deposit has been accepted and fully processed, and do not deposit the same check elsewhere.

Credit Builder, SpotMe, MyPay, and Chime Loan Support

Identify the exact product before contacting support because eligibility, repayment, dispute, and issuing-bank terms differ.

  • Credit Builder or Chime Card: Review the statement, secured-account activity, card status, and posted transaction. Use the in-app dispute option for an eligible posted charge.
  • SpotMe: Check qualifying-direct-deposit status, current eligibility, and the personalized limit shown in the app.
  • MyPay: Review the current line-of-credit agreement, available amount, advance details, fees, and scheduled repayment information.
  • Instant Loan or another credit product: Review the agreement for the issuing bank, Chime Capital’s servicing role, payment details, and dispute address.

Do not rely on old product limits or eligibility rules from a third-party page. Chime can change product availability, terms, and member-specific limits.

Chime Scam and Fake Customer-Service Warning

Stop if a caller or message asks you to:

  • Share a password, PIN, full Social Security number, full card number, or login credentials
  • Read back a one-time verification code
  • Download a remote-access app
  • Move money to a “safe” or “protected” account
  • Pay with cryptocurrency, gift cards, or an instant transfer
  • Use a support number found only in a search ad, social-media reply, or unexpected text

Hang up, open the official Chime app directly, and call 1-844-244-6363. Chime says legitimate messages can come from an @chime.com email address, official text short codes 24463 or 78740, or verified social accounts, and that it does not ask for a full Social Security number, full card number, or login credentials in an unsolicited communication.

How to Escalate a Chime Complaint

  1. Start with Chime: Use in-app chat or call 1-844-244-6363.
  2. Get a case number: Record the date, time, representative, and promised next step.
  3. Preserve evidence: Save statements, transaction details, deposit confirmations, merchant messages, closure notices, emails, and chat transcripts.
  4. State the requested resolution: Examples include restoring access, reopening a dispute, tracing a deposit, replacing a card, correcting credit information, or reissuing a refund check.
  5. Follow up in writing: Use a concise timeline and include the case number. Send sensitive records only through an authorized secure route.
  6. Identify the correct entity: Check the agreement, statement, card, or direct-deposit form to determine whether the matter involves Chime Financial, Chime Capital, The Bancorp Bank, or Stride Bank.
  7. Escalate externally when appropriate: Choose the agency that matches the problem instead of submitting the same complaint everywhere.
External route When it may fit
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaint Unresolved checking, savings, card, credit-reporting, personal-loan, prepaid-card, or money-transfer complaint
OCC Customer Assistance A complaint specifically involving a national bank regulated by the OCC; verify the bank and regulator before filing
IdentityTheft.gov Someone opened or used an account in your identity, or other identity theft occurred
FTC ReportFraud Impersonation, payment, shopping, or other consumer scam reporting
FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center Cyber-enabled fraud, account takeover, or internet crime

A regulator complaint is not an emergency service and does not guarantee a particular outcome. Contact local law enforcement or emergency services when safety is at risk, and contact Chime immediately when an unauthorized transaction or account takeover is still in progress.

Chime Reviews and Complaints

Comments visible on CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com include reports about accidental Pay Anyone transfers, unauthorized accounts associated with a customer’s email, deceased-account document handling, merchant refunds or withdrawals, account closures, missing replacement checks, and difficulty escalating support cases. These are individual consumer reports and do not prove that every member will have the same experience.

Across independent complaint and review pages, serious negative themes tend to involve access to funds, disputed transactions, direct deposits, restrictions or closures, and cases that require repeated contacts. Positive comments more often focus on app convenience, early access to eligible direct deposits, Credit Builder, SpotMe, and avoiding traditional branch visits. Review sites are self-selected and are not a representative survey of all Chime members.

How to write a useful Chime review

  • Name the product and issue without exposing private information.
  • Say whether you used phone support, in-app chat, email, or mail.
  • Include the approximate date, response time, and whether a case was opened.
  • Explain the resolution you requested and whether Chime resolved the issue.
  • Distinguish a pending matter from a final dispute or account decision.

Chime Disappointing Payment Issue

May 23, 2025

Chime, Payment Sent to Wrong Person. I accidentally sent money to the wrong Chime member and reached out immediately for help. Unfortunately, Chime told me it was too late and that there was nothing they could do. This has been really frustrating, especially since it was an honest mistake. Is there any way I can recover my money?

F B

Response from Corporate Office Headquarters

Contact Chime Support Again (Politely but Firmly): Call 1-844-244-6363 or use the in-app chat. Ask to escalate the issue to a supervisor or payment disputes team. Emphasize it was an accidental transfer and that you contacted them quickly after the mistake. Request a Trace or Reversal: Ask Chime if they can reach out to the recipient or initiate a transfer reversal request. Sometimes, if the recipient hasn’t used or withdrawn the funds, Chime may be able to intervene if both parties agree. Message the Recipient (if you know them): If you have a way to contact the person who received the funds, kindly ask them to send the money back. Unfortunately, Chime cannot force a refund unless the recipient agrees. Document Everything: Keep records of the transfer, your attempts to resolve it, and all communications with Chime. This will help if you need to file a formal complaint or pursue further action. File a Complaint if Necessary: If you feel Chime didn’t handle your issue properly, you can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

Chime Disappointing Experience

May 14, 2025

Chime, Repeated Account Issues and Poor Customer Support. I’ve now had to spend over an hour—twice in the past ten days—trying to shut down unauthorized accounts that were created using my email address. Each time, I’ve been directed to a customer support center that appears to be an overseas answering service with limited ability to actually resolve the issue.

There is no direct phone number to reach Chime’s San Francisco-based headquarters, which makes getting real help even more difficult. Given the recurring nature of this problem and the lack of effective support, I believe the State Attorney General should look into this company’s practices.

Chime Frustrating Customer Service

March 4, 2025

Chime, Where’s My Money? I deposited $120 into my new Chime account, but they closed it and claimed they sent me a check. I never received it, and despite multiple calls where they acknowledged it hasn’t been cashed, they refuse to issue a replacement. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them, and each time they promise to send another check, but it never arrives. Still waiting—this is beyond frustrating!
