Unsafe and filthy rooms!

I checked into the Orlando, FL DoubleTree Downtown on 60 SOUTH IVANHOE BOULEVARD for business travel on January 17th at approximately 10 pm EST. I checked into a room on the 9th floor. I used the keycard to unlock the door, I walked in to put down my luggage and I turned around to a strange man pushing the door open and entering into my room. I began to scream loudly and he left the room. I immediately slammed the door, locked it, and called the front desk. The front desk clerk apologized and sent a security guard to my room. The security guard suggested canceling the current room keys and reissuing a new set. I demanded a new room and the security guard escorted me to the 10th floor. He mentioned that vagrants sometimes come onto the guest floors to get warm when the temperature drops. I was shocked!!! Unfortunately, the new room had a strong mildew/moldy pet smell. I asked for another room, one that was hypoallergenic. The clerk says they had no other rooms. I barely slept because of the smell and the thought of no guests possibly roaming the halls. I stacked chairs and end tables behind the door and covered my head with the sheet to avoid the smell in the room. This location IS NOT SAFE NOR CLEAN!

No running water or working toilets! ! We recently stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in Florence, Arizona. After staying Sunday night (March 10, 2024), we went down for breakfast Monday at about 8am. By 8:30am, we learned that the city was fixing a water leak and the water was shut off to the entire hotel. No shower, no working toilets, no water to take medicines. The front desk had no idea when the water would be back on. By 11:30am, we were told the water may be off all day. Toilets through-out the hotel were filled to the top. I asked what our options were and they told us we could check out and not be charged the next night (Monday, March 11). We checked out about noon and received a receipt showing a zero balance. I didn’t think about it again until we got home and saw a charge for the Monday night on our credit card. I called the Doubletree and they said I needed to contact Expedia since I booked it through them. Expedia contacted the hotel and they said they would not refund the money because they were not given advance notice. Basically, they charged us for a room with no running water or working toilets that we did not even use. I have written numerous letters with no response. This location should be shut down for Fire and Health concerns. Photos available.

Poor service, poorly maintained facility! Subsequent to a kidney transplant I am required to remain in Houston a minimum of 30 days. My husband reserved a suite at the Doubletree Hilton Medical Center. We believed those two names still stood for quality accommodations. We were wrong.

1. No air conditioning the first week I was here. Sick, suffering side effects from immunosuppressant meds, and 76 degrees at night. I called the front desk three times and they blew me off. My husband called and they sent somebody who repaired it.

2. Room dirty. Could not get housekeeping staff to properly clean. A friend who lives in Houston came and helped me clean.

3. Due to immune suppressant meds killing my resistance to bacteria, I needed more hand towels, washcloths, and kitchen towels than normal. After failing to make the housekeeping staff who do not speak English understand me I ask someone else at the front desk and was told I needed to buy my own.

4. I could not get housekeeping to bring toilet paper. They also were resistant to mopping the sticky kitchen floor. I doordashed Clorox wipes and disinfected both the kitchen and the bathroom and cleaned dried poop from the toilet.

5. There is no time to pack for a 30 day stay when you get the call advising that you need to get to Houston ASAP because an kidney has become available so I was forced to order clothes, toiletries, and cosmetics online. Packages delivered here were lost, and nobody shows any enthusiasm for looking for them. I am beginning to think they were taken by staff. for example, the 10th of this month, a package from J.Crew containing five articles of clothing was delivered to the front desk, but no one can find it. that’s quite a bit of money. I could go on and on, but this should give you the gist of the problem. I’m not the only guest with similar complaints. I’ve met two people in the laundry who had nearly the exact same experience as me.

Rude front desk security and staff! Yesterday I called the hotel looking for my husband because he went missing after he said that his mother was sick. However, I called the hotel where he works. DoubleTree at North Phoenix. The staff began calling me ugly and I am a very beautiful woman. They were very rude to me. Something needs to be done because it is very unprofessional to disrespect any customer or client. I am also a rewards member. May God bless your business.

I made a reservation for December 16, -18th and had to cancel. I cancel on the 16th @ 9;21 am. I received confirmation through plum benefits stating I could receive a full refund if canceled before midnight. I have been trying for 3 days to get a refund. Your hotel is saying I can’t. This is unacceptable and I will never spend the night at your facilities nor will I recommend it. I will be posting a bad review as well. Here the confirmation number 32347777AAA18951XXX
