Grocery Outlet Santa Rosa CA Disappointing Experience

March 20, 2025

Grocery Outlet, Disrespectful Treatment Toward a Longtime Customer. On Wednesday, March 19th, at 5:40 p.m., I experienced extremely rude treatment at the Grocery Outlet in Santa Rosa. As a 75-year-old customer who has shopped at this location for 12 years, visiting two to three times a week, I was shocked by how I was treated. While attempting to check out with just four items, I initially waited at one register where the checker continued chatting with someone and ignored me. I then moved to a different line, where the cashier, Frankie, immediately displayed a hostile attitude. When I calmly mentioned that the previous checker appeared more interested in his conversation than assisting me, she became defensive and began yelling. I expressed my disappointment, explaining how I had never been treated this way before, but she continued her aggressive behavior. Despite my efforts to de-escalate the situation by stating that I’d had a difficult day and didn’t need to be yelled at, Frankie continued to shout. To make matters worse, the other checker, possibly an assistant manager, stood by without intervening. Frankie even encouraged me to complain, saying, “Go ahead, complain, my name is Frankie.” As a disabled senior living in a nearby complex, I rely on this store for my groceries and have always appreciated the convenience. However, this experience has left me deeply upset. No customer should be treated with such disrespect. I hope Grocery Outlet will take appropriate action to ensure respectful service for all customers in the future. Thank you for your attention.

Grocery Outlet Disappointing Customer Service

March 5, 2025

Grocery Outlet, Poor Customer Service and Flippant Store Manager (San Leandro East 14th store. I went to the Grocery Outlet on E 14th Street in San Leandro today and there were no carts for customer shopping. Customers if they were lucky used a small basket. They had only one basket (dirty) and after filing the basket to the top and carrying milk I asked for the manager. After a few minutes the manager came out and I said this is poor business practice to not of any carts for you customers and only one basket. In a condescending and argumentative tone she said all the carts have been stolen. I said use carts like Walmart which you can’t take out of the parking lot. She said they have and they get stolen. I was speaking in a professional tone and she said I could shop elsewhere. Is the how Grocery Outlet trains their manager’s? I know the previous manager and he was professional. This was an embarrassing encounter at Grocery Outlet.
