What to Have Before Contacting Macy’s Corporate Office

Having the right documentation can make a Macy’s complaint easier to review. This is especially important for online orders, store complaints, credit card issues, furniture delivery, promotion disputes, Macy’s Money confusion, missing items, and refund delays.

  • Order number, salescheck number, receipt number, or confirmation number
  • Store location, city, and state if the issue happened in a Macy’s store
  • Date of purchase, delivery, return, or customer service contact
  • Product name, brand, size, color, model, or SKU if available
  • Photos of damaged merchandise, packaging, tags, or defects
  • Tracking number, delivery confirmation, return label, or pickup confirmation
  • Macy’s Money, Star Rewards, coupon, or promotion screenshots
  • Credit card statement or refund record with private account details hidden
  • Names of store managers or support representatives contacted, if appropriate
  • The resolution you are requesting, such as a refund, replacement, delivery correction, credit, promotion adjustment, repair, apology, or written response

How to Escalate a Complaint to Macy’s Corporate Headquarters

If your issue is not resolved through the store, customer care, credit, furniture, or online support route, use a clear escalation process. Keep your complaint factual and include documentation.

  1. Start with the correct department. Use Macy’s Customer Care, Macy’s Credit Customer Care, Furniture & Mattress Customer Care, or the store manager depending on the issue.
  2. Ask for a case number or written confirmation. Save chat transcripts, email replies, screenshots, and call notes.
  3. Follow up with the same details. Reference your order number, case number, date, store location, and requested resolution.
  4. Escalate to corporate if the issue remains unresolved. For formal complaints, write to Macy’s, Inc., 151 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001.
  5. Try the corporate phone number for corporate-level matters. Macy’s corporate phone number is 1-212-494-1621, but account-specific customer issues may still be routed back to the correct customer care department.

Accessibility, ADA, and Communication Concerns

Accessibility complaints may involve difficulty using phone support, TTY access, communication barriers, store accessibility, online accessibility, or problems getting help from customer service. Include the support route used, call times, order number if relevant, and the accommodation or response requested. Do not post private medical information in a public review.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Corporate Feedback

Some users contact Macy’s headquarters about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, advertising, corporate messages, sponsorships, or public-facing brand decisions. These matters are usually better suited for Macy’s corporate communications or general feedback routes than ordinary customer order support.

Unfamiliar Macy’s Charges or Possible Scams

If you see an unfamiliar Macy’s, Macys.com, Macy’s credit card, furniture, gift card, or subscription-related charge, compare it with recent purchases, returns, pending authorizations, store pickup orders, furniture deliveries, and card payments. For help identifying confusing billing descriptors, visit ChargeOnMyCard.com. If you receive a suspicious Macy’s coupon, fake order notice, fake refund email, gift card scam, delivery scam, or fake support number, visit ThinkItsAScam.com for scam warning and reporting guidance.

Macy's Disappointing Customer Service

January 22, 2025

Macy’s, Misguided Information. I order an HP Laptop online. I was told that I had over $200 in Macy’s Money that I could use on another purchase but not the laptop. I went to Macy’s to use my Macy’s Money only to find out that I did not have any. I spoke to another Customer Service Rep which ensured me that I had $200 Macy’s Money, but I had to wait until my laptop was delivered before it cleared. I waited a week later and tried going back to Macy’s again, there still was no Macy’s Money. I spoke with another Customer Service Rep which than told me I had $400 Macy’s Money. I even had a girlfriend in my vehicle at the time listening. I made several calls after and was told something different, at this time I was so fed up with all the runarounds and lies. I asked Why don’t you want to give me what you’re saying I have? Why so many stories being told? Do you not have the same information in the system? I speed a lot of money with Macy’s and I’m very disappointed with the company. Their Customer Service has become horrible. You can’t understand the Customer Service Rep language; they don’t seem to have the knowledge that they need for this company’s products and position. At the end I end up getting the short end of the deal with them stating “I earned $60” I said How do you go from $200 to $400 to $100 to now $60? If the CEO is viewing this, I want my $400 Macy’s Money even if you have to go back and listen to the calls which are being recorded. Check calls 1/11/25 at 2:39 am. 2:47 pm, and 1/20/25 at 6:18 pm.

Macys Disappointing Customer Service

December 19, 2024

This is an ADA issue. Stress caused by Macys staff is disgusting. How are handicapped people to get assistance?

Macys Extremely Disappointed

December 7, 2023

To whom it may concern:

The purpose of this note is to find a viable resolution to a problem created by Macy’s.

My wife and I have been Macy’s customers for decades, as we have always known it to be a reputable and prestigious company that stands behind their quality and services.

On 11/22/2023 we bought a mattress set from you, scheduled to be delivered today on 12/02/2023. The shipment appeared to be on schedule until today we received notice the shipment had been cancelled.

The statement on your order confirmation email says it all:

“Thanks for selecting Macy’s for your home furnishing needs! We recognize you have many choices and are honored to have earned your business and your trust. We’ll provide you with the service and respect you deserve because you are a valued customer of Macy’s!”

On one hand, I do understand that things do happen during production and delivery in today’s world.

On the other hand, I don’t understand how insulting it is for a company your size to offer $54.44 to compensate for this major inconvenience. Especially in today’s economy.

We no longer have any mattresses to sleep on for the next 7 days! (Providing we don’t receive another future delivery day). Whoever reads this should understand that a mattress is not something anyone can easily substitute for any particular period.

I am under the current care of an Orthopedic Specialist, awaiting an MRI to determine treatment for an injury I recently sustained, so sleeping on the cold floor is not something I expected to experience, and that’s why we would never expect any significant failure, such as the current one from Macy’s vendors.

I realize things happen, but I also realize that compensation should be granted given the extreme inconvenience caused by your company.

25% discount is more than reasonable. Yet my request was declined. Whenever we are late with our payments a late fee is assessed, to compensate. By the same token I propose the low 25% discount be taken into serious consideration for all the trouble.

Respectfully,

R G

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

November 24, 2023

I was both saddened and disappointed to watch the parade today, usually an enjoyable celebration of the season. s one float passed by, a Native American display with a large tree on it, a young man on the float was holding a political flag. I don’t think, in this season of giving and inclusion, that this had any place in the parade. Not only was it inappropriate and possibly contentious, but Macy’s should have done something about it at the start of the parade. Even if it hadn’t been noticed earlier, the cameras clearly caught it, and something should have been done about it then and there. On the other hand, if Macy’s approved of the flag, I’m even angrier and more dumbfounded. I feel it would be appropriate for Macy’s to make a public apology for making what should have been a display of community and fellowship, into a blatant disrespect for peace.
