  1. I stopped shopping at my usual store, they stopped carrying some of my favorite items, went to Safeway…wrote a check…had to wait until the cashier could get a manager over to ok my check, being it was the first one I wrote, I was NOT as they said in the computer yet…ok. I went in yesterday…same thing…could not find a manager…waited and waited, finally…she told me to swipe my drivers license through their machine AGAIN…well, going to have to find another store to shop at…won't go through that again.

     
    1. The reason for this is, because your check had not been deposited. They had no way of knowing if it was bounced or not. Until it was cashed and approved it will ask for your id.

       
    2. Wow, I'm surprised they actually take checks. I'm even more surprised that you PAID WITH A CHECK! Who does that anymore?!?!? Rather than complain about how you are soooo "inconvenienced" and need to find somewhere else to shop, DON'T PAY WITH A CHECK! But, if you INSIST, you will actually make EVERYONE in line behind you MUCH happier, trust me. I would have thought it would be MORE of an inconvenience for you to now start going to the THIRD closest store from your house just so you can right a check (…assuming you will even be able to at that store) than it would for your to JUST USE A FREAKIN' DEBIT CARD!!!!!

       
  2. Boycott Safeway. Tired of their trash in 707.all the carts that show up in my town my neighbors yard the street corners all in my path will go to the dump.i called and they do not care.and the bags get used for dog poop.retirement means cleaning up Safeway poop.

     
  3. My wallet was stolen out of my purse at the Safeway in the Village of Harper's Choice in Columbia, MD. The management did not care! Boycott Safeway, I know I do.

I agree I used to work for a company that did work for safeway and the boss used to really screw them on the billing I could not be apart of that anymore it made me sick how many hours he was adding to each work order after us contractors would complete the job so safeway is getting screwed in the end they may be screwing customers but they are getting theirs too

       
  4. I will not shop at Safeway anymore. When first issued their "membership" card years ago I was told that was so I wound not have to clip coupons. Now in order to get best prices I must get on line and effectively LOAD COUPONS JUST FOR U. This is not a customer focused company. They should not do this to 'MEMBERS".

    GO TO KROGER, FRED MEYER, QFC. They have no coupons to load, better prices and friendlier employees.

      and i don't know how u feel about the people that smoke at other stores that work at safeway but i think it is appauling for the employees to bring there NASTY CIGARETTES IN FRONT OF PLACES THAT THEY DO NOT WORK LIKE CVS OR PRIMO'S WHICH IS AN EATING PLACE AND THE SMOKE GOES INSIDE THE EATING PLACE I AM A NON SMOKER AND I AM TRYING MY BEST TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE TERRIBLE PEOPLE THAT SMOKE WHERE THEY ARE NOT TO BE SMOKINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HAVE A NICE REST OF THE EVENING.     3. What exactly was the stereotype? That smokers smoke in front of stores? That just simply is NOT a stereotype… Also, what did your spellcheck do when you typed their and there in your reply? That would be nothing because, well, both are spelled correctly. It was the grammar that was incorrect, not the spelling.

      Also, to the genius that said to go some place else if they don't like to be around smokers: If the point of contention is that people happen to be smoking at the entrance of a lot of stores- how is one supposed to go somewhere else where they may encounter the same thing? The point (and typically the law) is to not smoke in front of an entrance. But if EVERYONE else should cater to you, why don't you just smoke inside- and if anyone has an issue with it they can leave? Oh, because that is just stupid- and illegal. But hey, I bet your teeth are clean and shiny! not to mention how clean & fresh you, your car, your house, your clothes all smell! MmmHmm!!!… ick

       
  5. I congratulate Safeway on their new "Gun Free" store policy. That guarantee's all their customers the right to be victims the next time some coward goes on a shooting spree…..Way to go Safeway……Works right along with the rest of your Liberal Agenda…….

     
  6. I went to work last night and was harassed about my back sprain / injury the whole time I was there. They claimed it couldnt have happened there. I cannot beleive the way people are now a days! They act like I am going to take them to the bank. I am going through recovery and I have medical documentation. So I agree about being careful working for safeway! They are an organized group of gossiping back stabbers!

  9. I want to congratulate Safeway for coming up with a new euphamism: Easy Scoop Package. Basically it means "air added". It's the latest thing in ice cream.
    It's the same concept that corporations have been using for a while, such as the Yoplait Co. with their "whipped" yogurts. So now it's four ounces for the price of six. (And that for the price of what used to be eight.) Do you feel as good as I do paying for air??

    Safeway has done an amazing job over the past year and a half by first, "lowering prices on thousands of items throughout the store". Yep, they did that, which was nice for a bit. But only a few months later they did a big re-packaging move, reducing the amount of many products by 8 to 15 percent and making new packages that appeared to hold the same amounts as before. Then six months or so later, they begin to raise prices back to where they were originally, or even higher, depending on the product. So, the net result is that you're getting less and paying more.
    I couldn't believe it when Pantry Essential ice cream was introduced. The first ingredient is . . . WATER. Yep, we're paying for added air and added water.

    I have resisted buying groceries at the Big Block store that moved in three years ago, but I think it is time that I give them a try. I am getting tired of all the games that Safeway has been playing lately.

    WHY IS IT THAT THE MANAGER OF SAFEWAY DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PROCESS A WESTERN UNION TRANSACTION??

    BUT SOMEONE UNDER HIM DOES???

    WHY WOULD THE ONLY PERSON THAT DOES KNOW HOW TO PROCESS A WESTERN UNION TRANSACTION GO TO LUNCH @7PM KNOWING THAT WESTERN UNION CLOSES AT 8PM???

    WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT AT SAFEWAY FOR 35 MINUTES UNTIL THE STORE MANAGER FINALLY COMES AND TELL ME
    "THE ONLY THAT DOES KNOW HOW IS AT LUNCH, AND BY THE TIME SHE GETS BACK ITS CLOSED! SO TECHNICALLY IT CLOSES AT 7PM NOT 8! SORRY ABOUT THAT"
