  • This company is the worst. They need a class action suit for all the money they stolen from people like me. I made policy changes and was never credited any previous payment whatsoever certainly my premium traveled and was told oh no that’s the price from this day forward…. Like what??? I think it’s more like they don’t know how to operate the software, they need to train or get trained themselves on how to operate the software properly. In the meantime millions of people are being ripped off. I will come back and LMAO with a class action suit finally happens. I am going to class action lawsuit website right now to put in my case.

  • I was struck from behind on 08/02/2020; and, a claim was filed by the insurer. A Claim # and an adjuster were assigned. I rec'd no call from the adjuster and called her 3x, left voicemails. As of today – I heard heard nothing. My insurance company tried to get involved as well, no help! DO NOT USE THE GENERAL INSURANCE.

  • The general is the worst was in a accident over a month ago and still fighting to get my check but they have the car these people are a joke

  • I too am having horrible experiences with this fly by night company. My Durango was totalled and my adjuster McKenzie Holt assured me that documents would be sent over night through FedEx. The next day I phoned FedEx and they confirmed with me that a shipping label was prepared but it was for two day shipping and that nothing was even shipped out yet. I called adjuster back and she was very rude and arguementive and said that she never told me it was being sent over night. But I had her on speaker and a friend heard the conversation. Also I am only getting rental paid for 72 hours after I verbally accepted the offer for total loss pay out. They are doing everything they can to stall. I need a vehicle to take my son to concussion appointments. I don't have money to pay for rental. That's the least they can do after being disrespectful and holding the process up.

  • I was on hold with General Insurance but then my phone lost service so I called back. Fred, who works at the Gardena location answered the phone in a hostile voice, stating I put you on hold for a reason, so once again please hold on. Him not knowing my phone lost service, got mad at a valuable customer for no reason. If you don't want to deal with people don't work in customer service!!! Of course I had to state what I wanted again once I called back, how else would you have directed my call properly??? Fred needs to do better and watch how he talks to people.

  • This is the worst insurance company ever!!!!! they took a payment and two weeks later cancelled my insurance because I told them that I won't be renewing with them. I now have insurance with GEICO who is giving me more for less.

  • This is the worse insurance company. One of their customers ran into my vehicle and was cited by the police as to "Not paying attention, causing an accident." They deny my claim because "There were no other witnesses." Adjuster was rude and made all kinds of excuses for not contacting me when I had left several messages. I finally got ahold of her over 10 days after the accident. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

  • Had car account 2-6-17, car was towed same day. Fastforward to 3-27-17 and vehicle is still w/towing co. Tow bill hasn't been paid. Have never heard so many excuses from a car insurance co. Shaquille O'Neal, what made you trust these people.

  • I need a rental while my vehicle is being examined and hopefully repaired, it should. I had an adjuster call me yesterday morning stating the deductible and set me up for my rental. Another adjuster called and wants to go with an old policy I had. I'm paying for my current policy, not the old and I need transportation to take my son to school and I have doctor's appointments to go to. This is ridiculous!

  • I was involved in a car accident in which the other driver totalled my car and was insured by you guys. The service I received, the professionalism and the care shown to me was atroshish. I hope to never have to deal with them again. Corporate office is getting a very lengthy email or phone call Monday morning.

  • My car was totaled in the disaster flood we had in sc. My car had water up to the engine on the outside and the interior was flooded above the seats on the inside. They sent me a email saying my car was being sent for total loss review then all of a sudden they tell me my vehicle only has 2000$ worth of damage they don't give a crap about anyone I will be contacting a lawyer and every new station I can I will also be contacting dhec and fema because my car sat in sewage water for days and they only want to clean the carpet. I have a daughter with a heart problem and low immune system they could care less they are terrible people.

  • I paid full coverage prices thinking that they were going to pay in the event of an accident!!! WRONG!!! My car was flooded 5 MONTHS AGO!!! It still sits at the dealership while this insurance company refuses to pay ANYTHING!!!!

  • This company evidently takes advantage of people. It is really bad when a company this size steals money thru not refunding premiums to people they took pmt thru and then cancelled due to selling car or changing companies.I have been arguing since Dec for a refund of 252.00. Then you can file a complaint to the main office on their homepage but it cost you 25.00 by CC. Who would trust them not to clear out your account.

  • Terrible, if you pick this insurer you better love drama! They are trying to cheat me as I'm writing this! I was urged into their auto pay and the rest is a nightmare! I am now waiting to see if the accident I was in will even be covered!! After paying for months then for the first time in 26 yrs of driving I have my first accident and the General is trying to weasel out of it! That is so shady to do that!!

    • Just a question because my husband and I are going through this same experience. Did your issue ever get resolved without the use of an attorney ?????..

    • Same thing here. I don't have insurance with them but they refuse to pay for my rental after their insured hit me. My insurance had to pay then go after them on my behalf Because they are not paying them . My Insurance could only pay what my policy would cover the rest I'm going to have to get a lawyer to get the money that came out of my pocket. I am actually going to have to sue them and their insured even though he was covered. I'm sure he doesn't know yet that his insurance doesn't have his back even thought he is paying for it.

    • I am in a situation right now with them. Has anyone had problems with the pictures you send them? They are trying to deny my service for full coverage because they are using every excuse that the pictures are taken wrong and they can't cover me but they took my money already and no supervisor will speak to me.

    • I contacted the BBB as I agree I have never dealt with such incompetence and liars. I was told that by law my 14yr old son who DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A PERMIT, has to be on my policy and incur a fee for it. When adding a car they increased me from 72 to 267 per month. I found better coverage for 107. I cancelled the remainder of the month because after a week they still didn't have a binder to the finance company. They tried to tell me I owed them when I paid 3 days prior. That will be a cold day in hell. They are absolutely atrocious. WHATEVER YOU DO — GO TO GEICO OR EVEN THE WORSE COMPANY YOU HAD IN THE PAST. YOU CANNOT DO WORSE THAN THE GENERAL–pain in the ass liars.

    • This company has the worst customer service and there claims dept people are unprofessional and rude. They tried to total my car which should not have been. This company should be shut down. Im asking all previous customers with complaints or issues to contact me so we can start a class action suit on The General Insurance
