Came in twice today (also called earlier this afternoon and yesterday) to the Kinney’s on Clinton Ave. store in Cortland. The notification system never seems to work. I’ve explained that every time, and every time, they try to enroll me again. The automated system when I call asks if I want scripts I don’t necessarily need right away, and then doesn’t always allow refills for the ones I do need. So, sometimes I have had to call to speak to someone for the ones I do need. Today, the associate told me when I went to pick up the scripts that nothing was ready. She was talking about what the system on her screen told her, but it didn’t explain anything that made sense as far as why I was told yesterday that it would be ready yesterday yet today there’s nothing ready and an issue with the one I didn’t really need right away. She said nothing was ready. I explained that this didn’t make sense and how will I know when it’s ready because the system never notifies me. I also said that the bottles have refills, so why was this more delay? It’s the system. Notifications rarely worked for me despite them enrolling my number multiple times. I walk in today and was told that it would be another day. This is allergy medicine, not something hardcore. The other medication that the system prompted me to refill, but didn’t require right away, went through and the system provided me a completion time of yesterday. It was not allowing me to request the other one that I actually was out of, and that’s why I called yesterday. They said on the phone yesterday both would be ready yesterday within 30 minutes. I go in today, and they have nothing. Except poor attitudes, which I returned. I was re-enrolled again evidently because I got another re-enrollment confirmation, then notification of a script being ready. I thought this was progress. Until I get inside that is. I go in, explain that I was happy to say I was notified by text this afternoon a script was ready. Next thing I know the pharmacist comes over on her own and proceeds to explain how the system works. Having never talked to her, I tried to explain all of what happened. I explained that I came in earlier today to pick up the scripts, because I was told they’d be ready yesterday by an associate on the phone. She didn’t seem to know anything about the phone conversation assuring me that it would be ready yesterday. The pharmacist and the associate never acknowledged any responsibility for anything, only repeating that I needed to understand how Kinney’s system works and adjust myself accordingly. I explained that I was told it would be ready yesterday, but that I was unable to make it in until today. I wasn’t notified otherwise. The pharmacist tried to tell me how “the system works,” and how she could do nothing about anything flawed within it, and basically told me to deal. I asked what she would advise me to do differently so as not to have an issue again, but she again just explained “how the system works.” Seems they are allowed to get away with blaming “the system” and customers for piss poor human and automated customer service. I was interrupted by the pharmacist and the employee multiple times. The pharmacist said she “was only going by what I was told,” I said that’s why it’s important to hear from the customer and not just take the word of an employee as the entire story. The employee evidently left out the part about how the other employee had told me no problem, they’re getting it ready within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, neither the pharmacist nor the employee I saw seemed interested in hearing from a customer about a flawed system, much less offer to rectify the issues. I’ve been a loyal customer there for many years. Most people have been very nice, and so I’ve put up with the hiccups of the automated system. Not anymore. Decided that I can and should do something, and that’s the reason for this bad review. I’m planning to call corporate tomorrow about this too.


Kinney's Terrible Service

I ordered a prescription online and was told that I needed it to be renewed.

My renewal was sent to Kinney’s in Richfield Springs as it always has been.

I went to pick up the prescription and was told that it had been filled elsewhere, I asked where, they couldn’t tell. I contacted my insurance and and was told the doctor would have to cancel the prescription and resend to Kinney’s. They did this, and was told that they still couldn’t fill my script because it was already filled. Ever since Jim has retired as head pharmacist, this store has seemingly gone down hill in the pharmacy area. I rarely see the same pharmacist, and never get the same answer about being contacted for when prescriptions are ready. Very frustrating and disappointing.

I called my meds in at 7:40 am yesterday morning. I got there at 6:45 pm last night nothing was ready and they told me it would be ready at noon well this medicine I can’t go without at all. It always happens that no matter what time I go they tell me to be there.


Get Better Pharmacists at Kinney's

I know that nothing will be done about my story for everyone. I recently went to Kinney’s like I do every other week for my prescriptions, and as always it is never ready when I get there when they say over the phone that it is, well I’m sick and tired of my prescriptions are never friggin ready, I usually have to wait almost an hour for it every friggin time. The Kinney’s better start doing some kind of remedy for this, because I will keep posting bad stuff about the store every friggin week, so tell your employees to do there jobs better or get better pharmacists.
