Do not prioritize customers! First 6 weeks of my membership were great..it’s a newer place so it’s pretty clean. Issue I have is when something breaks it’s takes weeks or months to fix. steam room is a major reason why some of us go to the one in Washington twp , Michigan ..when it goes down there should be someone to come fix it within 48 hours not 3 weeks..I heard it was down for 5 months before I signed up there…the sauna has been down for 6 months because of a lawsuit with infrared. So why not just go back to the rocks? It’s not that difficult. If I wanted to just work out I would save lots of money and go to a planet fitness..few other minor issues. No weight scale in the locker room…need more wiping stations so we don’t have to walk across the gym to get wipes to clean station. maybe dryers in the locker rooms so our shorts are soaking wet when we put them back in our bags like lifetime has…steam rooms need a push button for steam instead of the heat knob. Everyone thinks it’s a timer and turn it and thats how it breaks.

On Wednesday 1/13/23 on the sixth treadmill from the left if you are looking from the floor at the row of treadmills. To my right, I noticed a treadmill with a tear on the walkway. After I was done on the treadmill I walked to the front desk and spoke with Angle to told me he was the general Mgr. I told him this issue should either be locked out or that he may want to tape an 11 1/2 X11 sheet of paper with an out-of-order. This morning at around 11:00 am I was on the tread mill the the tear was there and the machine is not labeled. I spoke with Angel, and I told him that it is a tripping hazard and that folks up to 80 years old are on these machines. I told him that I am 69 years old and that over my career, I have had to take employees due to preventable accident incidents. When he continued to make excuses I pressed the issue. His response was “I will formulate a plan with the maintenance dept and we will take care of it”. Really? I said some older people can trip and get injured and his response was. We have our members sign a release so I am not worried about getting sued. (Really a known safety issue that is ignored, what lawyer wants to get on this potential case) Is this the normal method of operation of LA Fitness? And, who is coaching this individual? The Lack of concern for a tripping hazard that can cause an injury is Outrageous. I have been a mid-level manager for over 30 years. In such as Coors Brewing Co. in Golden, Colorado, Waste Management, or AT&T, allowing a known safety issue to exist is grounds for termination in these companies. I do not know what your policy is, however as upper-level managers, and you okay with this? I am a USN veteran I have seen several serious injuries in my career that were preventable. The attitude of the GM at the Palm Bay Fitness Center is alarming at best.

LA Fitness, Firing of the best trainer? I am disgusted at the firing of Mar, my trainer at the Brookhaven, PA branch of LA Fitness. He is well respected, competent, caring and loved by all. I have been seeing him for 2 years and he is the only reason that I attend training sessions. They have reduced the number of clients he was assigned to causing him to seek partime work elsewhere to supplement his income. They have not hired any trainers that were well qualified nor reliable. Other trainers they hire are there one day and don’t show up the next. Mar is always there and is always willing to help anyone that has a question or a problem. He was an asset to your organization. I refuse to sign up for another trainer especially since they can’t seem to find anyone as qualified as Mar. I was notified that I had a training appointment this past monday and when I went in there was no trainer there! They don’t have any available because they don’t have any, so why would you fire someone who is competent,well respected and reliable. Management is lacking, machines are not maintained and repaired in a timely manner so I would advise you to look into these problems at your Brookhaven, PA branch. I’m considering dropping my membership and others I have spoken to may do the same.

LA Fitness, Poor service. Trying to cancel this membership is a nightmare. Where to start, kids club never open, machines never clean, locker room and bathrooms are disgusting, called multiple times to try and cancel and they wouldnt let me. Never given towels or anything to wipe the machines down.

LA Fitness, Your Port Jefferson NY location in Suffolk County has had equipment out of service for months. All leather is ripped on many machines leg Bilateral curls and so on. Management complacent on fixing it. I’m ready to cancel unless this is addressed. Bathrooms dirty as well.
