Detroit Thrifty Running Insurance Scam

I recently rented a car from Detroit Metro Airport Thrifty and declined the additional insurance. They still went ahead and charged me and I didn’t see my contract until after I signed. There are multiple reviews on Yelp with this same scam. This is not a company to be trusted because once you sign you have no recourse. They used to review the contract line by line but now they longer do that and are taking advantage of customers.

Thrifty Car Rental Honolulu Airport

We rented a car at the Honolulu Airport 5/14/23. This entire rental was prepaid when it was booked and we received a duplicate charge on our card. The vehicle in question would not start the morning of May 21st and we were leaving for the airport and would have missed our flight. The emergency roadside service paid for a Lyft vehicle to shuttle us to the airport and we were told the vehicle would be picked up at the hotel we were staying at (Marriot KoOlina, Olani Street, Unit 1206, Kapolei, HI). Yesterday we received a call from Rafael stating that the car had never been returned. As we were unable to return it ourselves and needed to catch our flight home we were unable to fill up the tank with gasoline. This was out of our control and we firmly believe that we should not be charged anymore for rental or gasoline. This contract needs to be closed and per Rafael the car is missing and the contract cannot be closed until the car is returned. We have no idea where the vehicle is but Rafael did confirm it was towed. ,Thrifty Res
